[WORLD ONE] AIMINTAS (INTRODUCTION)
Who: The coven & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Days 13 & 14
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Days 13 & 14
Open/Closed: Open to All

Just like how you arrived, the process of leaving the hub and reappearing somewhere else is quite quick and uneventful. Brie and Genette gather as many people as possible so that everyone can explore the new world together in a group, which is where they all land once Qri has worked her magic. If you weren't in the vicinity, or thought that not being social meant you'd get to stay on the island, you come along as well, though you didn't exactly show up with the group.
The initial terrain is quite interesting -- it's at least different from the hub island, though you may not be particularly impressed. There's sticky kelp to step in, water in the sky to look at and sand to get stuck in every orifice of your body. How do you like the new digs thus far? B â–¢ Genette explains that the gang must enter the city of Aimintas to survive, but it's easier said than done. Maybe as something of an incentive, Genette climbs into Qri's caravan and it floats away, over the rock face. There go all the supplies you brought! The rest of you losers will have to climb through the craggy rock walls, hundreds of feet tall with very few crevices and cracks that are navigable. Hope you can climb...or maybe you can find a way to get through using someone's magic? The sun sets while the coven is busy trying to get through the craggy infrastructure (at least, that's the fate of those who don't find a quicker way to get into the city). Brie locates a large cave in one of the rocks, and that's where everyone sets up camp for the night. If you want to carry on, that's your choice...but who knows if anything that goes bump in the night is out there bumping in the night time?
|

It takes about a day to travel to Aimintas, climb through the rocks and come into the city. Thankfully the city hub is close to the side of the city the coven managed to climb through, so civilization is awaiting. That civilization is decently modern, lizard-like and very, very nosy.
Because they're so enamored, the Palai will readily give coven members gifts as a token of their appreciation. What exactly do they appreciate? Don't be afraid to ask a few simple questions. They'll be more than happy to give out answers. E â–¢ Some Palai, though, will want to see some of that magic before they offer up any gifts. Some may be a little demanding, just because their curiosity is so overwhelming. A harsh no will result in an apology and a gift anyways, but maybe just show them some magic anyway...? Even outside of interacting with the Palai, there's quite a bit around here to look at. Genette can be found in the middle of one of the parks, handing out the stored supplies to their owners. (Don't worry, she'll tell you where she is with a little telepathic poke. Your supplies will give you access to shopping and bartering...your status as a magical humanoid thing will only get you so far.
G â–¢ Finally, the Palai are a people of culture. That culture can be quite unforgiving to those who choose to wander around alone. Some Palai people, after the initial wonder has worn off, will deny services to people who are on their own. It just doesn't compute! Your character is better off with a group of three, but a friend is fine. Travel in groups or couples and your character will find that they get fewer strange looks and questions. |

It can be easy to get overwhelmed within the Palai marketplace, so no one will blame a coven-member for escaping the city for a bit. On the outside of the marketplace is a very large house with dozens of Palai congregating -- and my dozens, we mean at least 200. A Palai mate triangle just committed to each other, and this is certainly worth celebrating.
I â–¢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

"Ugh!" Waver groaned as he stepped into yet another pile of kelp. He had long ago accepted that sand was going to get into his shoes, on his clothes, everywhere, that was the price of a beach hut, but this? This was ridiculous, and at this rate, he was going to ruin his shoes. Given how few and far between it felt like supplies were, Waver wanted them in good condition for a while longer.
He took another few steps, and this time when the shoe got stuck in the kelp, it stayed that way. Waver walked forward right out of his shoe, and his foot landed in a squishy pile of wet sand. He let out a louder groan.
"Are you kidding me?!" he shouted, mostly at the shoe. Never mind who saw this outburst.
B
[Waver was a skinny little thing, which was one of the few advantages he had in this nonsense of having to go on foot while someone else could just float up and over on a caravan.
Moving through the crevice, Waver groaned,a twisted, and then realized something important. His arm had gone in a weird direction and now it wasn't coming through.
Just his luck.
After a few moments of panic and trying to tug himself free, Waver remembered that this was probably the kind of thing the network was for. So he tapped in, using his mirror shard to show his location.]
I'm stuck here! Anyone able to move rocks?!
E.
Waver has mixed feelings about being demanded to show off his magic. On one hand, who is anyone to demand he show them anything? Seriously? But on the other, he is still a proud jerk, and no one is going to berate him for his skills this time. So he's agreed to show some of his magic off.
He stands off to the side with a little group around him, manipulating smoke into slightly more refined shapes than he had managed before. There are some crude attempts at animals, most of them look like balloon animals, but basic shapes are coming along and are much more detailed than they were before. Perhaps most impressive of all are the smoke plumes that he manages to have hover, curling into branching designs.
Whatever the gifts are, Waver doesn't know. But he hopes that they're practical.
H.
[This part? Weird.
But Waver had been ushered into this festivity before he could properly protest, so now he simply stood off to the side, observing the celebration at hand. He was not so rude as to say, refuse cake, but he felt like this was the kind of intrusion that went too far.
If Iskandar was here, he'd had dived right in, celebrating and probably dancing too. Could he dance? Ah, he'd probably make it all up. Waver smiles at the thought of it, temporarily lost in his own thoughts.]
He'd probably chide me for standing around right now too.
[But Waver stays put for the time being, eyes scanning the crowd. There had to be others here too.]
B
Well...I could blow it up. Or I might be able to punch it into smaller pieces. Your pick.

[ hey waver, what's up? dave raises his eyebrows. he is not himself inclined to drag people to dance unless he knows them very very well, and instead seems to be calmly eating some cake.
you never know when you will next get cake. may as well make the most of things, right? ]
You should try the cake, it's pretty good.

[To say that Chiaki's a little bit in awe is an understatement. Even when they're wandering through the rugged terrain, he finds himself constantly looking up, up, up to wear the ocean rests overhead. His eyes are bright in delight, a grin constantly pulling at his face - up until there are moments where he seems. Off? His expression grows distant, his eyes dimming as they flick to the ground. Is he... thinking? Distracted? Hence why he might be about to walk straight into the rock wall if you don't stop him.]
[ D : ISN'T IT NEAT ]
[Once they actually made it into the marketplace, Chiaki's overwhelmed all over again. For a few moments at the beginning, he's almost... quiet? He watches how everyone else treats each other, and then he runs into the fray with a grin so wide it might split his face in two. With remarkable accuracy, he picks up on culture, laughs heartily and loudly with every Palai he runs into.
The gift that they give this idol boy? Why, a camera of course. That said, it makes his eyes light up and he grabs the nearest coven-member by their elbow, pulling them in closer to him - ]
Friend! Let's take a picture together? To commemorate our welcome! [BUT FIRST, LET ME TAKE A SELFIE. And he even aims a grin to their Palai friend - ] You too, you too! Let's all get along well, okay?
[ H : WOULDN'T YOU THINK MY COLLECTION'S COMPLETE ]
[To be honest, the wedding is something new and exciting for Chiaki - and it's just like him to get caught in the festivities?! He's wandering around, laughing and mingling with the Palai as if he's always belonged there. Damn social butterfly. Though if he spots you - yes you! - fellow coven-member, his eyes light up with newfound recognition even if you've only just seen each other in passing?!
Hence why he leaps forward to you, holding out both hands - or if you're a more stubborn type of character, maybe just taking your hands on his own - and grinning.]
Let's dance!
[alright, idol boy, chill out]
[ I : WOULDN'T YOU THINK I'M THE BOY WHO HAS EVERYTHIIIIING ]
[WILDCARD TIME - surprise!! Chiaki's a tourist and a millennial. Whether he uses the small camera gift that the Palai gifted to him or his own smartphone that he brought with him on his travels, he's taking pictures of everything. The aquatic animals, the food, and many, many pictures of the ocean overhead. At random, you might realize that he's pointing the camera at you and - ]
Smile! ☆
[ - that's all the warning you get better the shutter sound of a picture taken! Though he does stick around to give you the biggest, dopiest smile.]
Ahaha, thank you...!
h
She doesn't expect to see Chiaki bounding up to her and holding his hands out.]

[one might think that Madoka would be tired after a long day of walking — but truth be told, she's used to getting very little sleep. that's only part of the reason why she's seated at the mouth of the cave, staring off into the sky, watching creatures swim by ... flinching visibly every time a scream echos through the land.]
[she's always been a bit of a lighter sleeper, anyway.]
[if you happen to take a seat next to her, Madoka will turn with a smile, her face illuminated by the pink glow of the only light source she has that wasn't whisked away in the caravan — her Soul Gem, which is placed on the ground right in front of her.]
Couldn't sleep either, huh?
h.
[once she's had her fill of the shopping district, Madoka's more than happy to take part in the festivities when she's ushered over — this is the best food she's had, and the best she's felt in general, ever since she was pulled from her home. ]
[if she happens across one of her friends (and to be clear, every single person Madoka has met she considers a friend), they can expect to be asked to dance. if she happens across a stranger? she still might ask.]
c
[Haru has never had to sleep like this before. The first time is rough and unforgiving. The things she's hearing don't make anything like this any better.
So when she sits down next to Madoka she's immediately bringing her knees up to her chest.]
Are you hanging in there okay?

[The problem was that Jake couldn't really think of a way to show them his ability. How do you explain it? Well, it probably was easier than he was making it out to be but he totally blanked when they started making demands of him, growing shy and unsure.
So, he started a game.
That game has gotten popular enough that a small gathering is around him. It's claustrophobic and makes him anxious but he's trying not to show it. They're welcoming all of them into their city, so it only feels right.]
Now, ready? One, two, three—
[They all throw their hands out for rock-paper-scissors. If you watch a few games, sometimes Jake does lose. But, more often than not, somehow, all of the Palai pick the one weaker to his choice. Some of them don't seem to think it's magic but most of them are entertained at least.
But they keep demanding another round and Jake is looking pretty exhausted. Save him?]
[F]
[So Jake learned firsthand that working off your debt is apparently a normal option. Maybe he could have used his magic to get out of it but he didn't think of that. So now he's standing outside of a cafe with a tray of dozens of small sample squares of pastries.]
Um, um— E—Excuse me, would you like to try our new dessert? It's berry tasty!
[Look they told him to say that.]
[G]
[By now Jake is exasperated. He's arguing with a Palai.]
Please, I just— Really, my friend just left, I'm waiting for them to come back, but, um—
[He's not very convincing and the Palai seems to feel sorry for him but still refuses to sell him lunch until he proves this 'friend' exists.]
[H]
[The dancing actually looks pretty fun but Jake is standing off to the side, practically hiding in fact, lest some poor person tries to ask him to join when they notice he's watching. He's just playing idly with a slice of cake.]
They seem happy despite everything, don't they?
[He can't help thinking about those mysterious terrible people that apparently keep appearing from above and attacking them.]
[I]
[Aside from constantly getting bullied by lizard folk, Jake is enjoying himself here: a) checking out the movie posters outside the theater with great interest, b) trading comic books with some kids and c) hugging a laptop that he just bought because he's so happy. You're free to make up anything else, too!]

[It's hard to describe, but something feels better about this world. After making sure his friends came along, John finds himself noticing that they have a long way to go. At first, he finds himself walking and carrying what looks like a backpack and also his giant hammer with him. It's only on instinct that he stops a little behind the group and pauses to think, glancing around a bit before testing something.
Okay. There goes the hammer disappearing in mid-air? And there goes the backpack. WELL OKAY. He grins brightly and there's a tiny fistpump of victory.]
Take that, other powers!
[Alternatively, Genette isn't the only one who can just carry on and float away. After a short walk, John finds himself floating. And floating. And floating still? He's hovering in mid-air behind some of the other group members and his head is craned back to stare at the sky. It's only while he's not paying attention that he crashes straight into whoever is in front of him, a gentle kick to the head drawing attention to himself even as he looks down.]
Uh. Sorry…? But seriously, have you looked up recently?
C. Joint Prompt with Dave and Rose
[That night in a corner of the cave anyone who looks over will find John, Dave and Rose arranged in a small triangle away from the group huddled together. They're talking amongst themselves and Rose appears to be holding first Dave's hand, and then John's. Anyone who approaches will find Dave looking at his newly red fingernails and John waving his hand (covered in blue polish) in discontent.]
No one ever said this shit was cold. [Why are they doing this? Because Rose Lalonde is a powerful being.
ooc: order of you, dave, rose, john!]
E
[It might be surprising to find that John is utterly thrilled by the appearance of the Palai, more than happy to communicate with them and even when they stop him to see his magic, he can't tell the little guys no. It's almost as if he's used to this, and there's a little smile as he steps back.]
Okay, okay…
[There's a moment's pause and anyone nearby will feel a trickle of the breeze blow through their hair and around them shortly after. The problem, however, is that soon the breeze picks up and a huge gust of wind sends some of the Palai flying right into the arms or backs of anyone in the area. The wind picks up, ruffling clothing and lizard people and soon it settles to the low breeze again while John lowers his hand and lowers himself back to the ground with a sheepish grin. Instead of an apology, all he says is:]
Sweet catch. [The Palai may be ruffled, but John seems pretty amused anyway.]
F
[After the incident with his powers, John finds himself once again floating through the marketplace and exploring on his own, ignoring the weird looks he's getting from some of the Palai. He pokes his nose into various shops, digging around and taking note of everything that's around. The bartering system isn't new to him either and he appears exasperated as he's trying to talk his way into getting what looks like a laptop.]
Okay, I understand your point, but I don't have anything else? [How unfortunate that he spots someone else nearby and he draws attention.] Hey! What do you think is a fair trade for this?
Wildcard

[soooooo unless you have the ability to see spirits and things of that ilk normally, you might notice that as soon as the coven arrives on the new world, Mikleo just straight-up . . . vanishes before your eyes. a second later, a small, swirling globe of water appears where he was standing.
weird? that's weird. maybe you should poke it.
. . . if you can still see and hear him anyway, though, this is what actually happens: he breaks out into an enormous, startled smile, then puts one hand out, palm up. the water leaps into existence on his palm, a little silver torrent spinning in place; he sends it dancing over his fingers like a living thing.]
That feels so much better.
b
[he's been staring a little longingly up at the ocean sky now and then throughout the trek to the city (not that he could swim through that ocean, but it looks absolutely fascinating, like the greatest water arte he's ever seen, suspended over their heads.) he doesn't think of trying to use his granted power to move ahead of the coven until they reach the graccy border barring their way to the city.
when the caravan floats off over the craggy rocks, though, he stares after it instead of disbelief, then shakes his head (still mostly unseen), then asks, telepathic and a little wry:]
Okay. Who thinks they're really, really not going to be able to make that and could use a ride up? It might be a bit damp, but it'll be a lot faster.
f
[at some point in the dizzy whirl of the city, you might stumble on Mikleo among the shops in the marketplace, doing his best to politely engage the storekeeper Palai. he certainly looks pretty magical right now -- he's figured out a trick of gathering some water in around himself, so he makes a strange humanoid shape in a mobile cloud of mist and suspended droplets. he can also still communicate with the Palai telepathically. unfortunately, that's not enough to overcome the cultural gaffe of having gone off alone.]
Look, I just need a spare staff, and some bandages. About this long, sturdy, surely you've got something like that -- what's wrong? I don't understand...
[after the initial joyful reception the coven got, being snubbed is not quite unfamiliar, but still a bit weird. please help him.]

[She'd felt it all day, as soon as they'd gotten to this new world. A vague sense of something being there, an odd sensation that was both in her chest and her head and just out of reach of her hand.
And it's after she's gotten to the night's rest stop and settled there for a bit that she investigates. Because she's... it's strange, but she knows this feeling. She knows she's had it before, even though she wasn't really sure if she was able to sense its absence back on the island. Does it matter? She can definitely tell now that it's there again.
Xion finds herself a corner of the cave, holds a hand out away from her, and then closes it around the hilt of a weapon that wasn't there a second ago.
It's back. Her Keyblade's back.
She doesn't cry, doesn't laugh or anything. Just leans her forehead against the cool metal of the blade, closes her eyes, and breathes.]
F+G.
[She's been doing her best to just take her situation one thing at a time. First getting to the rest stop, then her keyblade (and other powers) being back, then getting to the city, then trying to talk and interact with the locals... Everything's finally settled down a bit and she's able to think at length about... smaller things.
Like how her coat feels really terrible with all the sand in it, and has resisted all attempts so far to get it out. Maybe um... Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to look for something else? She stops by some of the clothing stores and stalls, fingers lightly picking at the fabric of this and that, uncertain.
You can find her then, or find her later, standing outside a doorway with a pair of shopkeepers refusing to admit this strange loner, despite her protests.]
Please? I just... I just want to look.
[They shake their head at her, and continue to stand firmly in front of the door to their establishment.]
G
Yang frowned and made her way over.]
'scuse me. Is there a problem here? The girl just wants to have a look.

[Yang can’t believe they didn’t even get to hitch a ride! But she wasn’t about to whine about it--just really miss her bike at the moment...not that it would have done much good up a cliff face.]
Well. No sense just standing around I guess.
[Yang approaches the rock wall like she has a plan. She hadn’t done much rock climbing before, but she doesn’t look like she’s going to let that stop her. She eyes the rock wall for any hand holds and when one isn’t immediate she produces a glowing orb about the size of a quarter and blows up the rock to make one.]
C. Rock It Loud
[Yang doesn’t feel like sleeping just yet and sits at the edge of the cave. She has a nice little rock pile she seems to be chunking outside of the cave, listening as they plink down the side or make no sound at all. When there is a loud screech she looks up, but doesn’t seem scared so much as curious.]
D. Living Like a Star
[Yang is only a little surprised when it turns out the inhabitants of this world are lizard-people. Once she gets over their weird appearance, they’re actually kind of cute. Yang is about average height for a young woman, but even she towers above most of the them. It makes her feel even stranger when they start giving her little tokens: jewelry, gadgets, and gizmos a plenty.]
Aww. Thank you. You guys don’t have to do all this.
[A few from the crowd call out for a demonstration of magic]
Oh...is that what this is all about?
G. Bar Hopping
[The hustle and bustle is something she had missed. She’d been recovering for weeks prior to arriving here and so it was kind of nice to be back in a big city again. Usually she didn’t have too hard a time getting into bars, taverns, and clubs but a lot of those places were giving her weird looks or flat out telling her no. She clenched her fists as the fifth place turned her away.]
Hey! What’s the deal? I just want to check out your restaurant. What do you mean you don’t serve singles?
[Someone’s getting angry--if the red flashing eyes are any indication. Someone wanna step in?]
g
Ah -- actually, she's with me. Sorry for the confusion.

[Demonstrate her magic, eh? The air was so thick, so familiar, and she was overjoyed to see these little critters with their cool little alien karate chop hands. One couldn't help but be more than welcoming to a rather pushy demand to show what you could do. When she felt a familiar power building in her core, she was relieved; this world was one of those that was so full that she could draw upon the aether freely.
The limbal rings around her eyes began to burn to life as she drew her guitar, a simple acoustic-sounding thing that may have been heard all over the hub world. But this time was something rather strange, and it instead sounded as if it had a source of electricity, an amp and the works. When she strummed over the strings, it sounded like something belonging on stage in the big city with lights, a drum set and wild-haired singers with something to prove.
When she sang the effect was immediate: Any fatigue from clearing the rocks was beginning to melt away. For those that felt like a hundred bucks, they now felt like a million of those suckers, all pumped up and ready to take the day on with a newfound vigor. Small colors and shapes swam through the air, harmless in nature, but Madhuri wasn't one to flex her magical muscle without adding a little pizzazz. Her voice took the air and filled it, adding a gentle reverb.
Soon the Palai were swaying and lifting their silly little claws, and Madhuri reached out to point at a passerby. She locked eyes with the curious witness - you - and gave no warning.]
Soul without a name, heed my call...
[It shot like a bolt from above, thrumming through the senses when it struck. But rather than harm, it was like getting the biggest cup of coffee or an energy drink. You're ready to take down a bear with your own fists! But, in this case, as she crooked her finger at you, she bid you come and join her. The little ones want magic demonstration. Maybe you were shy or unsure before, but now might not be so bad...]
[G]
[But some moments she wasn't quite so lucky. Madhuri had never heard so many 'no's, seen so many shakes of the head. She wanted to retire for lunch or dinner, but they seemed hesitant to let her do business. Why was that? She was a good worker, she paid her dues...
"No singles! No singles!"
The auri woman lifted her eyebrows. No singles? She had to go with someone? Well, she never... did they think of her an old maid? Sh-she was twenty-one, how rude...!
Okay. Alright. Fine. So she needed to grab some other unlucky sod and they could both eat. Tipping her feathered cap, she scanned the crowds before she tread over and sidled up to a random someone. Her arm looped with one of theirs.]
You look just as hungry as I am. Shall we eat? They seem to have a thing against wallflowers...
g
You noticed that too, huh? Seems a little weird that it's one of their requirements around here. [But he's fine with playing along, sure.] What'd they tell you when you tried to go on your own?

Theoretically, this would be about the perfect time for Ryoji to use his newfound powers- however, he is no where near certain enough of himself for that. However, even though the trek is a little bit tricky, he can't help but enjoy it. After all, he's never seen anything like this world before, and more than once he nearly runs into someone because he's so busy staring at the ocean in the sky. "Oh, sorry!"
D
His fascination does not end with the world around them, and Ryoji is very much as interested in the Palai as they seem to be with their new visitors. He settles down for a bit with a group of them, chatting happily about pretty much anything that comes to mind, asking them about their city, and about the ocean above them... which leads to a somewhat alarming conversation.
"They attack you? Why??"
G
...though, it does also seem there are some cultural things Ryoji didn't think to ask when they arrived. For example, back home it was pretty normal to go out to get food by yourself. Obviously that's not true of this world, but they are going to need to eat, so...
"Hello! Do you want to get something to eat? It seems like they get kind of confused when we try to go by ourselves. I still haven't really figured out why but it's probably easier not to argue with them."
g
Like, well, past puberty.
"Ah, have you tried asking?" Victor smiled, lifting his hands to show empty palms. "They don't believe in solitary lifestyles. Friends, family, lovers, whichever. It's simply done to be in pairs at the least, trios by preference."
Trust Victor to have picked on that fairly quickly. It'd helped that he could notice a difference between how he and Yuuri were treated when side by side, versus if either one of them were on their own, like Victor was right now. "Not that I mind picking up something to eat. The cuisine's pretty enjoyable. Have you had their roasted seaweed fish salads?"

[Jay watches the caravan rise up and over the crags with a dumbfounded expression on his face, then slowly--still looking nonplussed by this whole situation--begins to laugh.]
I didn't think she had it in her. I don't suppose this is some demented way of getting us to practice our powers?
[Later, you might see him using his own powers--though not Qri-given ones--to scale the rock: sticking his dagger into the ground and using the stalagmites that leap out of the ground in response to scramble onto a higher ledge, before the stalagmites disappear and the dagger flies back to his hand as if summoned.]
C.
[If you're up in the middle of the night you might notice that Jay is strangely nowhere to be found . . . anyone up for a little exploring will come across him a ways away from the cave camp, scribbling furiously in his journal by the light of--are those his fingernails glowing?
He'll look up if you approach, keeping his place in the journal with a thumb as he greets you with a,]
Ah, hello, there. Actually, if you're not busy--do you have time to answer a few questions?
E.
[Someone's surrounded by a horde of Palai, furiously ducking this way and that to stay out of their way, almost as if he thinks their touch might scald him. Wow, Jay, don't be so lizardist. (Anyone who knows about his powers will perhaps have a different explanation for the avoidant behavior.)]
No, I--look, I'll show you some so-called "magic" if you want, just--give me some space and--don't touch me!

[ Qrow doesn't particularly care to be in the spotlight, nor is he the type to show all of his cards. When the locals asked him to perform some of his magic and he said no, it only made them more intrigued by him, which is the opposite of what he wanted.
He relents, eventually, and decides to give them more than what they bargained for. Instead of simply revealing that he can teleport from place to place, Qrow turns his sword into a scythe, and then teleports a couple of times, leaving a cloud of black smoke wherever he stood last. ]
I'm the grim reaper. Scram.
[ ...Cue all of the Palai in the vicinity dropping their offerings and clearing the area. ]
Huh. Guess I overdid it.
F.) when god is gone and the devil takes hold
[ After causing a small panic earlier, everything had quickly gone back to normal again and it seems as if the Palai had forgotten about Qrow's little show, likely because they met the next shiny visitor who were more than happy to engage in the crowd.
As for Qrow, strange accidents seem to follow him around wherever he goes. As he walks casually through the marketplace, scythe over his shoulder and flask in his other hand, small random acts of misfortune are being caused in his wake. For example, a crate of fruit breaks and spills it all over the ground, the shrimp stand catches on fire, a computer store has a power outage... a local Palai bites into a hotdog, but the sausage slips out of the bun and drops on the ground, when someone else steps on the sausage and slips into a ladder, knocking into it and causing it to fall down while someone was still on it.
You know, that kind of stuff.
Qrow seems to be used to this, and you get the sense that this is maybe why he doesn't want to be near others for too long. Still, why not approach him? Test your luck today - literally! ]
G.) who will have mercy on your soul?
[ Guess who wants to drink at the bar? Guess. GUESS. Unfortunately for Qrow, this time he can't do it on his own, as the locals refuse to serve him if he's alone for some reason.
UGH!!
Well, it can't be helped. Qrow will just hang outside and wait to ask one of his poor comrades to join him inside, that should do it. ]
Hey. Let me buy you a drink.
[ Of course, if his drinking buddy is underage or doesn't partake, he'll happily get them a coke or water. More booze for him that way! ]

Sure. D'you think they serve somethin' even remotely similar to apple juice?

[ So the best part of this planet is the fact that out of nowhere, Tora-kun is back! Of course, with all of the sand and kelp, it's not ideal... But they'll make do. Gokotai is just so happy to see his friend again. Nuzzles and unsurprising fluffiness... ]
Would you like to ride him? He'll be good and won't kick up the sand.
[ Once in a lifetime opportunity right here, and it keeps away the kelp from sticking to legs and feet for a bit. It's gross and sticky, yuck. Neither can blame anyone for wanting a short break on this trek to the city. ]
C
[ In the cave where people are resting, Gokotai is going to spend his time cleaning up his friend. It's a lot of fur, dirtied by the sand and gravel of the rocky terrain. Tigers can groom, but it's a lot to get out. His master's got a tiny brush and a good amount of patience. Tora-kun does not however, and he's quite restless and refusing to hold still for grooming. ]
I think you need a distraction... Oh, maybe I can ask someone-- Eep!
[ He sure did get bat by a large paw. Gokotai takes the paw off and continues this slow process. Help would be appreciated in keeping the tiger sorta occupied! Don't worry about any pending danger, they're pretty tired and someone is very much like... a giant housecat. ]
E
[ Technically, Gokotai is magical by nature... and that's how he's here. While he doesn't mind showing off the magic "granted" to him if the Palai asked, they're not quite interested in that. They're asking so many questions about his furry friend (since animals aren't something you find in this world, maybe something in old books) and it's a bit much for Gokotai, and the moment they stop and give him a moment to breathe, he just buries his face into striped fur, with way too many gifts in his arms. ]
Mmph... If only you could talk. You'd be better to answer these questions.
a
Kind of cute, really.] Does this happen to you often? [Because he never got the Gokotai's power memo, and so the pattern is that Gokotai first has a close relationship with a crab, and now a tiger.]

[Tamaki is about as thrilled with the idea of sleeping outside as one could possibly expect, which is to say, not particularly thrilled at all. In fact, he is currently sitting near the entrance, his tall body folded up on itself as much as possible while he hugs his knees and stares out at the night, like something might appear from the gloom any moment.
The random screams aren't helping.
If someone walks close, he startles for a moment, before looking up at them with wide eyes.]
You think there are monsters here?
F: Shopping Sprees in Paris
[The food had smelled delicious, and that was what led to Tamaki going around the food stalls, trading the trinkets Genette had given him here and there for tastes of the local cuisine. It's all so good! He could stay here and eat forever!
...Unfortunately, he runs out of things to barter with fairly quickly. He just wants one piece of cake, but with empty pockets, he's left to the mercy of the contemplative baker.
After a moment, a proposal: Say, kid, a human like you will definitely draw in customers! Why don't you stand outside my shop and advertise for two hours, and I'll give you your cake.
So that was what led to Tamaki standing outside the bakery, holding a sign advertising wares while calling out:]
Fresh bread! Toasted Sandwiches! We cater!
[It's a living...?]
H: We're Looking For Something Dumb To Do
[Tamaki's never really been to a wedding before, so this is an especially exciting experience! There's so many people around, dancing, drinking, and celebrating. He'd like to join in, but not knowing anyone makes the crowd seem impenetrable.
So he stands near the edges of the dance floor, swaying a bit with the beat and eating cake. The dances they're doing look so fun... he tries to memorize them.]
F
[Says F.F., wandering through the area looking for something to eat. Whatever those brightly colored and decorated things are, they sure look pretty.]
