[WORLD ONE] AIMINTAS (INTRODUCTION)
Who: The coven & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Days 13 & 14
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Days 13 & 14
Open/Closed: Open to All

Just like how you arrived, the process of leaving the hub and reappearing somewhere else is quite quick and uneventful. Brie and Genette gather as many people as possible so that everyone can explore the new world together in a group, which is where they all land once Qri has worked her magic. If you weren't in the vicinity, or thought that not being social meant you'd get to stay on the island, you come along as well, though you didn't exactly show up with the group.
The initial terrain is quite interesting -- it's at least different from the hub island, though you may not be particularly impressed. There's sticky kelp to step in, water in the sky to look at and sand to get stuck in every orifice of your body. How do you like the new digs thus far? B ▢ Genette explains that the gang must enter the city of Aimintas to survive, but it's easier said than done. Maybe as something of an incentive, Genette climbs into Qri's caravan and it floats away, over the rock face. There go all the supplies you brought! The rest of you losers will have to climb through the craggy rock walls, hundreds of feet tall with very few crevices and cracks that are navigable. Hope you can climb...or maybe you can find a way to get through using someone's magic? The sun sets while the coven is busy trying to get through the craggy infrastructure (at least, that's the fate of those who don't find a quicker way to get into the city). Brie locates a large cave in one of the rocks, and that's where everyone sets up camp for the night. If you want to carry on, that's your choice...but who knows if anything that goes bump in the night is out there bumping in the night time?
|

It takes about a day to travel to Aimintas, climb through the rocks and come into the city. Thankfully the city hub is close to the side of the city the coven managed to climb through, so civilization is awaiting. That civilization is decently modern, lizard-like and very, very nosy.
Because they're so enamored, the Palai will readily give coven members gifts as a token of their appreciation. What exactly do they appreciate? Don't be afraid to ask a few simple questions. They'll be more than happy to give out answers. E ▢ Some Palai, though, will want to see some of that magic before they offer up any gifts. Some may be a little demanding, just because their curiosity is so overwhelming. A harsh no will result in an apology and a gift anyways, but maybe just show them some magic anyway...? Even outside of interacting with the Palai, there's quite a bit around here to look at. Genette can be found in the middle of one of the parks, handing out the stored supplies to their owners. (Don't worry, she'll tell you where she is with a little telepathic poke. Your supplies will give you access to shopping and bartering...your status as a magical humanoid thing will only get you so far.
G ▢ Finally, the Palai are a people of culture. That culture can be quite unforgiving to those who choose to wander around alone. Some Palai people, after the initial wonder has worn off, will deny services to people who are on their own. It just doesn't compute! Your character is better off with a group of three, but a friend is fine. Travel in groups or couples and your character will find that they get fewer strange looks and questions. |

It can be easy to get overwhelmed within the Palai marketplace, so no one will blame a coven-member for escaping the city for a bit. On the outside of the marketplace is a very large house with dozens of Palai congregating -- and my dozens, we mean at least 200. A Palai mate triangle just committed to each other, and this is certainly worth celebrating.
I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

"Ugh!" Waver groaned as he stepped into yet another pile of kelp. He had long ago accepted that sand was going to get into his shoes, on his clothes, everywhere, that was the price of a beach hut, but this? This was ridiculous, and at this rate, he was going to ruin his shoes. Given how few and far between it felt like supplies were, Waver wanted them in good condition for a while longer.
He took another few steps, and this time when the shoe got stuck in the kelp, it stayed that way. Waver walked forward right out of his shoe, and his foot landed in a squishy pile of wet sand. He let out a louder groan.
"Are you kidding me?!" he shouted, mostly at the shoe. Never mind who saw this outburst.
B
[Waver was a skinny little thing, which was one of the few advantages he had in this nonsense of having to go on foot while someone else could just float up and over on a caravan.
Moving through the crevice, Waver groaned,a twisted, and then realized something important. His arm had gone in a weird direction and now it wasn't coming through.
Just his luck.
After a few moments of panic and trying to tug himself free, Waver remembered that this was probably the kind of thing the network was for. So he tapped in, using his mirror shard to show his location.]
I'm stuck here! Anyone able to move rocks?!
E.
Waver has mixed feelings about being demanded to show off his magic. On one hand, who is anyone to demand he show them anything? Seriously? But on the other, he is still a proud jerk, and no one is going to berate him for his skills this time. So he's agreed to show some of his magic off.
He stands off to the side with a little group around him, manipulating smoke into slightly more refined shapes than he had managed before. There are some crude attempts at animals, most of them look like balloon animals, but basic shapes are coming along and are much more detailed than they were before. Perhaps most impressive of all are the smoke plumes that he manages to have hover, curling into branching designs.
Whatever the gifts are, Waver doesn't know. But he hopes that they're practical.
H.
[This part? Weird.
But Waver had been ushered into this festivity before he could properly protest, so now he simply stood off to the side, observing the celebration at hand. He was not so rude as to say, refuse cake, but he felt like this was the kind of intrusion that went too far.
If Iskandar was here, he'd had dived right in, celebrating and probably dancing too. Could he dance? Ah, he'd probably make it all up. Waver smiles at the thought of it, temporarily lost in his own thoughts.]
He'd probably chide me for standing around right now too.
[But Waver stays put for the time being, eyes scanning the crowd. There had to be others here too.]
B
Well...I could blow it up. Or I might be able to punch it into smaller pieces. Your pick.
no subject
Waver was more than slightly embarrassed about the whole thing, but not having the mirror on his face meant no one could see that.
Where are you?
no subject
There's a chuckle as she says it though. She looked around. Since they were climbing it was difficult to locate an exact description besides just 'surrounded by rocks.' Yang looked down and tried to gauge the distance she had climbed.
On a ledge several feet up from most of the rest of our little party. Do I need to climb down or up?
no subject
Waver was not going to acknowledge the fact that yes, he was more than a little worried about getting blown up entirely. He was just trying to keep his preference on the matter grounded in logic though rather than pointless fear.
no subject
Yell or you could try using that smoke ability of yours. Smoke signals are thing where you're from, right?
It would be easier in her mind to see smoke. Yelling could echo and it might be difficult to pinpoint his exact location that way.

[ hey waver, what's up? dave raises his eyebrows. he is not himself inclined to drag people to dance unless he knows them very very well, and instead seems to be calmly eating some cake.
you never know when you will next get cake. may as well make the most of things, right? ]
You should try the cake, it's pretty good.
no subject
[Well, okay, maybe know of. Everyone knew of Alexander the Great. But that was something to keep private, and so Waver's attention turned to the cake he was holding.]
Yeah? What flavor is it?
no subject
[ is...is apple really a frequent flavor... ]
no subject
[Waver takes a bite though, and blinks.]
That is very, very dark chocolate.
no subject
[ dubiously. he doesn't know a lot about chocolate production, ok. ]

[Which birthday clowns already are, because they're terrible. Dirk's amused, though, and requests,] Can you do one like this?
[He lifts up his shirtsleeve to show a terrible tattoo.]
no subject
I don't know, are you sure about wanting something that's clown like for your troubles?
no subject
[People have died because of clowns.]
It's impressive control you're getting with it.
no subject
Thanks. There's a lot more finger wiggling to get to something like what you want though, so--
[So what, Waver asks? He sighs, then starts to conjure up some smoke from nowhere.]
Don't move, okay? Especially if you want the details right.

Oh. Yeah...that would probably be an appropriate reaction.
no subject
I'd say so. My sock is soaked through. [Waver gestured towards the foot in question, which was indeed very damp.] They couldn't have thought to include practical things on those supply caravans?!
no subject
no subject
I'd probably think there was a snake underneath my bare feet if I did that.
[Waver does, however, hop over to try and retrieve his shoe, keeping his one socked foot up and off the ground.]
no subject
In the interest of not freaking out about sort-of snakes...want a lift? You're probably not that heavy.

I can. Can you wave an arm or leg or something so I can see you better?
Re: B
[Waver tries to wiggle his free arm, but that just means the mirror shard is moving around and blurring the image. Hardly helpful.]
Should I just yell?
no subject
[And then it's a good thing Jotaro's not sharing what he's seeing, because he basically just pushes off the rock face and drops ten feet at a time, catching at handholds with Star Platinum reinforcing his arms and legs to keep from hurting himself. When he's closer to where he thinks he needs to be, he reaches out again.]
Try now.
