[ Any and all who are in the marketplace will find that there is suddenly a mysterious barrier around the marketplace (that may be eerily familiar to some) -- specifically one large portion of the marketplace with a large number of tables and chairs, perhaps purposefully set out for nefarious reasons.

A few Palai are ushering coven members to chairs, and everything seems about normal. As normal as the Palai can be when they're putting on a show anyway. It's not until a sizable portion of the coven members are seated (and also supplied with breadsticks and small shrimp), that things get a bit more bizarre.

Thanks to the power of the Eltos, a small band of energy keeps coven members stuck to the chair (magic can interfere, of course), but that's not the end of it. On each table, next to those delicious smelling breadsticks and shrimp, is a bowl of scraps of papers. Every five minutes, a strip of paper will pop out from the bowl.

If you ask the Palai, they'll be inclined to explain speed dating to you. Asking questions, getting to know a person, then being shimmied off to the next potential mate -- this is made possible by Elto magic yet again, through flying chairs that transport their holder to a new table at standard intervals.

The Palai are extremely invested in this exercise? Will you let them down? ]

All who want to respond to this top level can with questions from this post, but the threads have to end at 10 comments from each character. After this last tag, the characters can be assumed to have been whisked to a different potential match. You're free to have characters make up their own questions, interact with Palai serving food, etc. ]

Well, I mean...for one thing, androids don't reproduce.

Like I was saying, it's especially true in the case of YoRHa that we are designed not to emulate mankind too closely. So things like that we're simply not capable of, and my understanding is that humans get fulfillment from that sort of thing.

That'd be like...taking something away, I'd say.

[Android life: love every human in a distant and kind of depressing way and stan for every single one of them.

YoRHa are a specialized force among androids. I guess you'd call us the big guns?

[More so combat models like 2B, but hey]

Scanners like me aren't really intended for direct combat, but if you see 2B around, she is.

[This guy seems to catch on plenty fast to him, he's downright stumped people before]

I haven't met her, but I guess the goggles'll make it really easy to pick her out in the future. [He pauses, then just to be sure, he asks:] You two are friends, I take it?

[Friends, and though 9S is afraid to lend his voice to it for all the weight it holds in him, family. That's something singularly precious, for someone who so longed for a sense of connection with others as he has.

But these are things a YoRHa unit ought not harbor nor express]

I'm her partner in the field, so I act as her support.

[Said with no small measure of pride, because truly, he had always been his happiest fighting at her side]

I mostly just didn't want to come into androids with a feud between each other. [You never knew, and Waver at least thought ahead. It was pointless, because he could hear that level of pride. They were friends, no need to worry at all.]

No need to worry about that, but... Does that mean you've got a feud with someone?

That's...kind of a strong reaction for a no, if you don't mind my saying so.

...I don't always get on with other mages, that's all. And they have long running family conflicts, s'all.

So you don't like each other because your families didn't like each other?

Well, not me specifically, I was talking in general. But...yes. Mages are like that.

Why be a mage if you're fighting among yourselves?

Because using magecraft...sorry, magic...is just. Something I want to do.
