Who: Everyone!
Where: Various locations around Shehui
When: Days 215-218, roughly
Open/Closed: ota! closed/semi-closed toplevels in comments.

[It's been a quiet few days in Shehui. Life is going on, despite the detention of the Chosen 12--Yeunai is approaching, and there's something about an app called Bondr. Are you being tempted by the Antima trials? Shopping for Yeunai cards to give to your friends? Or is the toll of not knowing where some of your friends and fellow coven members are getting to you?

As for that, the plan to rescue the Chosen 12 from the building where they're being held is ticking along too. There are hushed meetings and telepathic conversations taking place in the apartment building daily--hopefully no one is bugging them, or maybe the planning squad has found a way to deal with that? Members of the coven as a whole have been informed that a rescue operation is ongoing (and ones who were paying careful attention early on will have more details), and to stay close to the outskirts of the city on Day 218. They've also been given the location of a temporary safe area on the edge of the city. The upshot is: prepare to be wanted, and to escape, when all this goes down in a few days.

If you're actually a part of the rescue plan, there are briefings on your role and duties going on the lower floors of the apartment, in the space Geir once inhabited. Even if you're not, there are still things that need to be done: supplies that need to be bought and discreetly moved to the temporary safe location, for one. Everyone has been asked to help with this.

And then, of course, there are the prisoners and the planning squad. How is everyone holding up? Are the interrogations getting worse? Are plans taking shape? How will you spend these last few days in the calm before the storm?]

Who: The Chosen 12, Shehui Monitors
Where: Around Shehui, The Underground Holding Areas
When:
Open/Closed: OTA, but especially the Chosen 12

[ Something seems different about today...you feel it when you wake up if you're of the sorts who happen to have a good gut instinct. You don't have to wait around long for the news of the day to confirm this anxiety in your chest. In fact, it may only intensify if you happen to be looking at your ID card when the announcement comes in.

On your ID's text scroller, a message comes through with a loud, blaring beeping:

The following Shehui residents have been requested for an audience with officials. If you know of their location, please tell them as such and maintain their location as much as possible. (The list, though, contains last names OR the name they offered at their Shehui introductory meeting.)

Ruby
Haru
Geir
Madoka
Jade
Julius
Jusis
Shirley
Orga
Noctis
Akechi
Riza

If you're in your apartment and happen to be on that list, you'll find that your door is locked from the inside suddenly. You and your buddies aren't going in there until a monitor comes by. For those out and about, you may be able to hide for a while if you're in a crowd of folks who don't know who you are. However, any and all news or screens will begin offering photos of those on the list as the day continues. That might get you some interesting looks.

That being said, you have options -- giving in and surrendering is only one of the choices you can make.

pre- or just after the announcement: Want to react to this sudden discovery that you're quite possibly a wanted criminal? Go right ahead! Maybe this is where you begin to plot your life on the lam. Maybe, maybe you have a mental break down. Maybe, maybe, maybe you just need some advice about what to do. Who knows!

running: Life on the lam is entirely possible, and even though it might not last, you can definitely make a break for it. If you have magic that can help you...why not use it? What do you have to lose? However, know that monitors will be looking for you far and wide. You thought there were a lot of monitors hanging around the city before? Think again, now. There are some pretty good places to hide, like in the woods of the more rural areas, but be warned -- that doesn't mean the monitors won't come for you there, either.

fighting: Maybe you're more proactive in your denial. You don't want to go anywhere with these monitors, and they're closing in...instead of surrendering, it's time to battle! Magic will do you well in this scenario, but monitors do have weapons and tools they can use to try and combat your fighting spirit. These include stun guns, energized-batons and a gun-like device that shoots out magnetized clamps designed to grab at arms, legs...even your neck. Trying to cut through these is also very hard, and once the gun is attached to you? It's also electrical in nature. You'll get a pretty good zap if you don't comply.

capture: So that's it. You've been caught. What does that mean for your future in Shehui? It's hard to say -- but it is for certain that you aren't simply being interrogated in your apartment this time. The monitors lead you to their underground doorway, opening it and bringing you inside. What you find is a totally different building that looks very ornate yet official -- this is the home of the Shehui government. The hallway you're led through is long, and your restraints tighten before your feet are clasped together with a device that's similar to the clamps the monitor's gun spat out. There are hundreds of monitors looking to stun or even shoot you now that you're away from the public. Escape is seemingly impossible...at least for now.

From there, monitors will take you to a holding room that lies at the furthest end of the last hallway you're taken to. It's not that bad for being what is essentially a jail cell -- there's an enclosed restroom, sizable bed and mini fridge. A table, a television built into the side of the wall...and a sign on the wall that lists up to three different names. Even though there's one bed, that doesn't mean you'll be utilizing it on your own:

-- Geir (his own, larger cell -- though it's outfitted with larger amenities)
-- Riza, Jade, Ruby
-- Jusis, Noctis, Julius
-- Madoka, Shirley, Haru
-- Orga, Akechi

The first day, everything is quite quiet. A monitor brings you food, carefully making sure that you can't escape through the door...since they're sliding it through a tiny slit, it might be very hard to squeeze through. That's where you're at right now...Today is day one, and who knows what the next day will bring.

[SPECIFIC NOTE: For large creatures, i.e. Geir's big dragon ass, the monitors are going to be using helicopters and larger versions of their regular weapons. They'll be very cautious in trying not to injure Geir -- more than they would be when it comes to the average coven member -- because potentially felling him from the sky can lead to casualties. If he is captured, the underground door will grow to accommodate him, and there is a larger holding area for bigger creatures. Hallways, however, will be a tight squeeze.]

telepathy: Telepathy can be utilized at any time during your long, hard day, but it may be beneficial to attempt to use it while you're locked up underground. Those who hear your mental feed will find that whatever signal you're trying to send is very faint -- for instance, sending text, the letters will be less than opaque. Voices will be softer and potentially static-y, as well as video transmissions.

In general, citizens of Shehui will take a pretty standard approach to coven members who are on the circulated list. They won't get directly involved with the chase; there won't be many citizens who will put a coven member in a headlock and directly involve themselves. However, they will shout, point at and follow coven members who they know are on the list in an attempt to help the monitors. However, you do have the freedom to create non-standard reactions from Shehui residents. You can say they feel some sympathy, or maybe they're even more violent than the average person!

Who: Geir, Vern & you!
Where: Shehui (various)
When: Day 196 (backdated to just before the telepathic fail hijinks)
Open/Closed: Mostly open!

i. setting it up (closed to geir)

[this is it. they've spent days discreetly smuggling a small heap of Palai bones one by one to a public park in a less-busy area of the city. with traffic drawn away from it by the festival, and minimal risk of anyone actually getting hurt, it's time to finish up their plan and place the final bones. one to be the trigger, one as bait for the monitors...

they peer down the street.]

...I think we can go.

ii. kaboom (open)

[and if you're in that sector of the city today, you're likely to hear a thunderclap of noise and see a brilliant flash of light coming from said park. Shehui citizens and visitors around you exclaim and turn to look, and you may see monitors making their way through the streets to the source...

Vern speaks telepathically through the entire coven's signets before the dust of the explosion's even settled, voice clipped and abrupt]

Vern and Geir here. If you're walking the city today, don't go near-- [he names the neighbourhood of the park.] If you're already near it, don't actually go to the park; make sure there are eyewitnesses that you weren't there at this time. You don't know anything about this, you weren't involved. All right?

iii. in the aftermath (open)

[Geir and Vern don't actually get themselves arrested; they're on the ground floor of the coven house as usual that evening, if you want to ask them questions face to face in a reasonably private space. they look kind of pleased with themselves...? mission success?]

[The process will be familiar to some of you and new to others: some time over the past week, Jay or someone else would have quietly approached you in person and let you know about a meeting that was taking place tonight, hopefully away from the watchful gaze of Brie, Genette, and Qri.

Jay will greet you by the door. It might be a tight fit in the Geir-and-Vern apartment (if indeed it can be considered an apartment), depending on how many people show up. Take a seat on the ground next to the dragon--or on the dragon, if he'll let you--and wait for the meeting to come to order.]

With the recent installation of 9S and co.'s scanning equipment and the also recent, significantly wetter rainstorms there's quite a lot to check out on the island right now. Plus, the monitor robot still needs a name. You're not going to leave them nameless forever, are you?

Too bad Genette's put out word that everyone's about to be moving location soon. That means these are the last days the coven has for a little while to get everything in order, whether it's to take things to the next destination or to leave them behind. Get your bags packed and your huts cleaned, everyone!]

08 October 2017 @ 04:05 pm
[Yuuko sends out a message letting everyone know that she's checked all the trees and is ready to proceed with taking down the dead ones and growing new ones! She actually has a whole list of things that need to be done:

- Dead trees need to be taken down. The dead wood might be able to be crafted into something.
- All living trees are marked with a ribbon and need to be healed by those that can.
- Still living trees should have their sick branches removed and be pruned properly, to avoid further sickness
- Stone pathing is needed!
- Simple signage directing where certain fruit trees are growing. The orchard isn't big yet but it may be some day!
-Anything else that you'd like to add to the orchard. Small gardens for vegetables/berries and other things would be lovely and it'd be nice to keep everything in one place.

If your character collected seeds from the previous world Yuuko can make them grow instantly. Trees she can't make fully grown just yet, but she can get pretty close. Maybe by the time they've left for the new world/returned there will be fruit on these new trees.]

A - Cutting Down Dead Trees

[The orchard doesn't look super great. Even the still living trees are hard to ascertain from the dead ones. Yuuko has gone ahead and checked them out with some helpful hands and claws so you can figure out which ones to take down because they don't have a ribbon. These trees need to be pulled from the root and completely removed.
All this dead wood must be good for something though. If not fire wood maybe someone can make something out of it!]

B - Healing the Sick Trees

[First things first when it comes to the healthy trees: you make sure those ribbons get back to Yuuko. Otherwise, if you have powers to help them out please try! There are a few on the island that have already said they can save the trees. Hopefully they grow something tasty!]

C - Healing the Earth

[Before growing can commence the dirt leaves little to be desired. The earth isn't in great shape and perhaps it's the reason all the trees started to die? Yuuko's no tree doctor so she couldn't tell you... but before she risks planting any trees in the ground she hopes that someone with some kind of healing magic can revitalize the dirt. Healthy trees need a healthy ground first and foremost.]

D - Planting Delicious Delicious Fruits

[It's time! Yuuko doesn't have a lot of seeds but it's enough to get started. There's apple, oranges, lemons and two pear tree seeds! (Impressive!)

With all the sick trees removed and the dirt revitalized Yuuko has carefully planned where each tree and future tree should go. But maybe her and Waver weren't the only ones to collect seeds. If you also managed to gather something from the previous world hopefully you're inclined to share and pass the seeds over to the rest of the group. Yuuko can make instantly grow any small/medium sized plant. Berries and flora may take a day or two to actually bloom but it won't be a long wait.

As for the trees... well, she now experiences her limits. She can get them pretty grown but not to their full potential or size. Oops. Shoulda maybe been practicing, huh? Oh well. There will probably be plants and apples when they return from their next world.]

E - Pathing/Signage/Build Your Own Thing!

[There is still so much that can be done for the orchard. Pathing will make it easy to get around and not get lost in what will hopefully be a sea of trees. The signage makes things easier to find. But what about making things aesthetically pleasing? Yuuko is all about that. Making a koi pond or a fresh water source will be helpful in keeping things watered.

Smaller gardens to grow different things like vegetables and herbs would be splendid. Are there bumblebees here? Maybe some bee friendly plants that will keep the trees and the rest of the things here growing. There's so much that can be done and while Yuuko has planned out the tree part there's still lots more that can be done and crafted to make life here a little bit better.]

(OOC: Please interact with each other and spam this post all you like to make the orchard super great! And really, do whatever you like and build whatever you please if you're able!)

05 October 2017 @ 03:53 pm
Who: Coven Members
Where: Coven Base Camp
When: Day 90
Open/Closed: OTA

You're not doing anything right now, right? Good. Genette's using some of the resources taken from Aimintas to create a little get together. Even if you do have something going on, she's not averse to using a little force to make the evening magical.

In fact, the magic is exactly how she's pulling this off. Genette is offering you to a little get together at the base camp, which may be all it takes for you to follow her. If not? Your hand is tethered (or some other part of you) quickly and you're led to the camp anyway. This is important, darn it!

What's so important? A little "party" of sorts. There's an assortment of foods, some of which have been hastily made since some groups have gone harvesting for new resources, and a large water basin that's acting as a punch bowl.

The true purpose of this little activity is a 'get to know you' exercise of sorts. Genette's got a glass container of a large quantity of Elto bones that can short-circuit the tethers, but the caveat is that you have to participate in a little, tethered sharing circle.

(It's honestly a good idea to know who you're stuck within your little makeshift coven, but Genette is the pushy sort when she sets her mind to something.)

The way to be released from your Elto shackles? Tell everyone your name, where you're from, your magic (seemingly left a little ambiguous) and something else about yourself. Discussions are encouraged! The more people know, the better!

After you're done sharing with the class, food and drink is yours to have -- or you can just run off, that's fine too.

OOC: Characters who would have absolutely nothing to do with this can of course escape, whether fleeing in the first place or using Elto bones of their own to circuit out their tether.

A ▢ This is it -- your character can breathe deeply, unlock their knees and get this little activity over with. All they have to do is share the criteria and they're free to go!

B ▢ Afterwards, their free to stick around the area and mingle. There IS food and also drinks. They may also want to have a more private conversation about something they learned tonight.
