[WORLD ONE | POST-UVI CELEBRATION]
Who: Coven members and Palai
Where: In and around the Aimintas marketplace
When: Day 39
Open/Closed: Open to All
Where: In and around the Aimintas marketplace
When: Day 39
Open/Closed: Open to All
After an appropriate amount of time for mourning, the Palai have shifted into a more positive mood -- they're a very resilient species, though there is a bit of a muted tone to their celebration. The whole event is a little hodge-podge, mostly because they aren't used to having to celebrate with the coven members added to the guest list. The Palai have gathered together all of their people and have invited the coven members to a small, intimate gathering -- the purpose of the event is to thank them for their service in fighting the Uvi, and the success of freezing the Uvi in their home. While no one knows how long the Uvi will stay gone, any amount of time without the Uvi being a concern is fine by them. The event takes place in the very center of the marketplace, with the Palai interacting on the fringes of the party throughout the rest of the large building. The coven members have time to spend by themselves, but there's room for moving around on their own and also spending time with the Palai if they so choose.
If you're so inclined to ask what the deal is, these pastries are magically infused by Eltos, which somehow gives them a sweeter flavor and enhances the sensation of tastebuds. The Palai sometimes eat these before meals in order to better the flavor of their entire spread -- though adding this energized magic to an already magical being means magic powers may be a little off kilter. Don't be surprised if suddenly your abilities go a little crazy. B ▢ The Palai aren't participating the party for two big reasons. One, the purpose is to celebrate the victory of coven members. The other reason, however, is one that may be more interesting to outsiders. While previously the Palai were peaceful people, happy to exist submitting to the Uvi, the coven's show of strength and valor has inspired them to be more aggressive in their approaches. Grown Palai can be seen working on makeshift weapons, but the idea of smaller tools like slingshots have already been constructed and almost perfected. The Palai youth have discovered these tools and are playing with them gleefully, though occasionally hitting each other -- and potentially you -- with energized, paralyzing rocks fueled with Elto energy. Watch out or you might get zapped! C ▢ Other Palai youth aren't as fortunate to be so distracted and happy. While fewer Palai died during this attack, the casualty number wasn't zero. Most Palai children still have at least one family member to care for them, but they're still a little disconnected from their people by means of grief. Some are milling about with the coven members, trying to eat or pester them for attention. If you're good with kids this may be more your speed, but those bad with children can find this irritating. Some Palai youth are more muted, however, content to just sit and listen to stories or eavesdrop on conversations. D ▢ For some people, rain isn't that big an issue -- but it certainly puts a damper (get it?) on a party. The Palai seem a bit confused by the sudden shower that comes in heavy as the evening dies down. The Palai have never experienced rain before, using irrigation systems and existing ground water as their means of hydration (both for themselves and for plants). Because the rain is coming from the ocean, the drops are large and salty, and the marketplace quickly begins to flood. The Palai move the party indoors for the most part, but that doesn't mean you or the food aren't already soaked. It's much warming underneath the roofs in the marketplace, but that doesn't provide much relief since the ocean rain is warm and humid. E ▢ Wildcard! How will your character handle this violent and volatile situation. |

[Geir is hanging back from the main part of the revelry today, unusually shy. it's been a heavy two weeks for him, and absenting himself from most of the doings of the coven for the last few days hasn't been quite enough to restore his normal frame of mind. he's glad to see everyone celebrating, but doesn't feel part enough of the group to plunge in, especially since there's not a lot of room for him...
on the other hand, though, he does keep sneaking looks of melting temptation at those pastries and the rest of the food that's been placed out.]
Hey... are those really any good?
D
[despite his reticence to join the main celebration, Geir is taking up an awful lot of the corner of the marketplace square, draped and coiled in a large heap. when the rain starts to fall, all he has to do to stay dry is spread his wings out and rest them on the buildings to either side instead of folded tight to his back. suddenly there's a waterproof tent of considerable size for anyone who wants to shelter under it -- if you don't mind sharing a dragon-wing tent with the head of that dragon.
he doesn't outright invite anyone to come inside, but he's watching everyone curiously and quietly as they scurry around to get out of the rain... it doesn't seem like he'd mind.]

[Jay is milling around the edges of the party with a strange twist of a smile on his face, like he isn't quite sure what to think about this whole celebration. If you were involved with the organized effort to defend the Uvi, however--or even if you were just visibly fighting them--he'll approach you to say,]
Thank you for your help during the raid. We appreciate it.
[He seems sincere enough, although perhaps more subdued than one might expect. Either way, even if he doesn't come up to you, you can always come up to him.]
ii.
[Later in the night, Jay will . . . still be milling around the edges of the party, but if you look downward you'll see an addition: a small Palai child, maybe a toddler, is clinging to his leg. Jay appears to be paying this child no mind, but as he moves about, you'll also notice he makes exactly zero attempt to detach the little lizard from his person. If you make eye contact, he'll look at you with a perfectly level gaze, as though he's daring you to say something.
Go on. Say something.]
ii
Nice accessorizing, Jay.

One of the things Waver was unsure about was the pastry. It...it moved. It vibrated, and that to him spelled trouble. Between the entire first night of looking like he was on fire and then the weirdness that was grapes that taste like meat back on the hub, he could do nothing more than stare at the things with deep suspicion.
"I'm not risking anything until someone else eats one," he muttered finally, not caring if anyone overheard him having a conversation with a pastry. Whatever. He didn't trust it.
D
[Waver watches quietly as the salty rain begins to come down into the streets. Being inside is just fine, his clothes aren't too wet either, but watching the downpour feels like the right kind of mood. This isn't so much a party for victory as a way of marking a turning point of sorts. The Palai aren't just mourning, they're changing their way of life.
All because a bunch of strangers showed up and offered another way.
That's something he turns over in his mind slowly, arms folded over his chest and eyebrows narrowed. Oh, his mind is back home in Fuyuki, but his words are trying to stay focused on the present.]
If this becomes a constant, there has to be some kind of way to address potential erosion from all the salt water.

brie; npc
[Brie has something of a propensity for food -- especially of the confectionery variety. You don't have to tell her twice to eat her fill, even though the sugary sweet seems to be radioactive. Oh well, we all gotta die sometime.
Instead of finding the sweet release of death, Brie instead finds an amazing flavor. Unbeknownst to her, she also finds her power to magically apparate swords is on the fritz, causing a random hail of blades to fall from the sky randomly.
Oops. Watch your toes.]
b;
[Despite causing her own amount of ruckus, that doesn't stop Brie from being irritated at the Palai children running around willy-nilly with weapons.
Children with weapons are okay in her book -- actually they're preferable. Children running around with weapons they don't know how to use, however, is an annoyance. After being hit in the leg with a paralyzing slingshot stone, Brie has one of the Palai children hanging upside down by the tail while she hobbles on one leg.]
Pulling shit like that will get your throat cut where I'm from. [The kid is crying. The lesson is learned but at what cost?]

[On the softer side of things, Genette is much better with children and hasn't eaten any diabetes-inducing sweets that make her magic go crazy. Not that her healing powers going nuts would necessarily be a bad thing, but let's just say you're safer with her.
The Palai children are as well, and a number of them have taken to trying to brain her hair very intricately, though some untalented youngsters are really just creating knots. Genette won't demand you come over, but she'll motion to other coven members to join the fun.]
Come here...it's more fun than you think! [Or is she really just looking to pawn the knot-creating tykes onto someone else...]
d;
[Though Genette's powers focus on healing, her magic touch essentially works like a body scanner. It sends a wave of warmth through the body looking for locations heal, from ingrown toenails to flesh wounds.
The warmness might not be especially welcome during such a humid rain, but the result of the power is soothing, and it might be nice to feel relaxed after a stressful week.]
Sit, sit. [She pats the seat of the bench she's sitting on, drying towel draped on her lap.] You might get sick if you stay wet for very long.

[all battles have casualties: that never fails to remain true. he expected it despite hoping to prevent it and, more importantly, to prevent children losing their parents. he lost both of his while very young so he full well knows how much it hurts.
that understanding leads him to ignore most of the festivities in favor to entertain those children who ended up suffering. after giving it some thought, he figured out the best way to entertain them: swordplay. thus flynn's in the middle of a group of palai youth doing various maneuvers and tricks. though never in battle or even in most circumstances, this time he allows himself to add some showmanship to the techniques. an extra spin here, a sword flip there and maybe even a backflip himself: it all draws some 'ooo'ing and 'aww'ing.
come watch? or maybe even come spar to give the kids a better show.]
d.
[rain. normal rain. non-fishy rain. sure, it ruins the fun but it still beats that hellish fish rain from the other day. regular rain can only be called heavenly in comparison.
it stops being heavenly as soon as the flooding begins. flynn, being flynn, sticks around in the rain in order to help others get to safety or even serving as a shield against the rain. after doing this for a while, he finally finds some shelter himself and not a moment too soon. drenched to the bone would be putting it mildly. the amount of water coming off him looks like a mini-downpour. maybe he's shivering a tad, too. hopefully this won't result in him getting sick.
rather than worry about it, he'll walk over to whoever's nearby.]
This rain really came out of nowhere. [so much so fast, too.] Does it normally rain salt water here?
d.
Is that a sign of things to come? Then again, he has his doubts that the Uvi have the power to influence their habitat in such a way]
Not according to the locals.

[A little jolt or two might not hurt for most, but 9S visibly jumps when he's jolted. The movement has a strange, rigid appearance to it, and afterward, electricity crackles around his hand. His fingers twitch in a decidedly unnatural manner, at least for any form of organic life, and this may make sense for anyone who understands what being an android is.
9S draws a hiss of breath between pearl-white teeth, clamping his good hand over his wrist. He's dealt with machine children before, and he knows that they didn't mean harm by it, but his visible discomfort is enough to make them shy away.
Left to his own devices, 9S stations himself somewhere around the periphery of this celebration, hunkering down to perform some maintenance before being down to one functional hand becomes a problem. To anyone passing by is that he's sitting there stock still while sparks dance between his fingers, as though he's gone offline, or into some sort of dreamless sleep]
Somber S[C]ene
[Knowing what it is to mourn, and knowing what it is to be left behind, 9S recognizes the look when he sees it. Although he's certainly keen to observe the celebration for its cultural significance, seeing some children gathered away from the festivities quickly catches his attention and he heads in their direction without a word even if someone was looking for him.
He crouches close to two children, assuming by their state of dress that they must be related. The building itself doesn't leave much room for privacy, he supposes, as he takes glance around. Having to be here while feeling far from celebratory must necessarily be difficult]
It's tough feeling left behind, huh?
[9S' voice is quiet, and the somber weight of it bespeaks his own experience. The Palai children don't look up, though one nods. Rather than admit that he knows exactly how that feels, because it destroyed him once, he tugs something from his pocket.
What he produces is a dried white flower, faintly luminous even under the lights of this building. The children look up in time for him to poke at the flower with gloved fingers before procuring two seeds]
Somebody told me once these are supposed to grant wishes, when they bloom... [As he speaks, he offers a seed to one child, dropping it into small, waiting hands, before moving on to the other] So maybe, in memory of them, you can help these grow.
[The flower doesn't look to be in the best of steads anymore, but 9S thinks that Emil wouldn't begrudge them this]

It all started so innocently, with celebrating the lack of impending doom by loading up on sweets. Even if she knew they were doing something to people's abilities, it's not like she had had any indication that she even had an ability, so how bad could it be, right?
Shortly after the snack, it began with a sudden spell of fatigue. Kosuzu sat down for a moment to catch her breath, only to end up passing out for a few minutes. While sleeping, she dreamed the most vivid dream she could ever remember having. The weird part? It was just a dream of being at the party she was already at, with completely ordinary events unfolding. She awoke with a start, suddenly feeling full of energy, all of the lethargy of before completely gone. Dismissing it as a strange dream, she headed off to get another drink, before rejoining the party.
But that was when things got weird. A child suddenly stars crying at the edge of her hearing. Someone spills a drink two tables over. When the rain starts, she's already heading indoors - everything is happening exactly as she dreamed it.
"The girl over there gets hit by a rock and can't move... The tall guy's fingers catch on fire for no reason... the Palai over in the corner get in an argument and start yelling..."
As she mumbles, staring with growing distress at the crowd, everything she says comes true seconds after she says it. Is this it? Has she developed the power to see into the future?
Why couldn't this happen at a time when something actually important was going to happen?
[[OOC - So! Normally Kosuzu's ability won't be nearly this convenient, but I figured that for a random party post with a powers-going-haywire effect, I'd have her prophetic dream ability turbocharge into full-on precognition. Within this toplevel, Kosuzu has advance knowledge of everything that will happen at the party for ten minutes. The only exception is if her knowledge of the future alters events directly.
If you want to plot something out with that gimmick in mind, hit me up over at

He recognizes her from the other day and figures he might as well say hello. Upon closer inspection, something seems off. Of course, he doesn't really know her too well, but months of listening to strangers talk about their problems back home gives you kind of a sixth sense for when people are troubled.

[It'll look like Xion has a small flock of Palai ducklings as she walks around the celebration. They all keep chattering, begging her to do... something. Unable to resist that many pleading voices Xion stops, leaning forward.]
O-okay, I can do it again.
[She opens her hands out, summoning a little bit of water between them from the humid air, and then... slowly, it'll turn into a small ice crystal.
That's when the requests start coming, asking her to turn it into different shapes or animals. Xion, already a little uneasy at being the center of attention, looks even more strained.]
I... I can't do that many things yet. Or all at once...
D.
[Rain starts falling and Palai start scrambling, but after days of practice with her water powers, Xion has another idea. Lifting up her hands, she gathers some of the water, like she did the day the new arrivals came, only this time she spreads it out. Catching water as it happens is a whole different beast than catching fish, and the more there is, the harder it is to hold on to it all. In the end she compromises - there's a lot of dripping off the sides of her water umbrella, but underneath it is dry.
She hefts it like someone would heft a heavy sack, moving around through crowds and trying to shepard any Palai inside. Maybe she'll run into you too. Just hopefully not literally, or else there might be a sudden sheet of water falling on everybody.]
c
[.... ah!]
Hello! Do you guys want to do some crafting? [Madoka opens up the notebook she pretty much always has on her and rips out a page, crouching down so that the Palai can gather around and see. time for an origami lesson — she rips out a page and offers it to Xion, too, so they can fold together.]

[Eating the sweets was entirely a mistake. To ignore all of her good common sense for a bite of something sweet? MISTAKE.
Anyone getting too close to Haru at this very moment will be getting a big rude barrier to the face.
If you have bad footing, well, that's too bad. It probably has enough force to knock you right on your rear.]
Oh, I'm terribly sorry. Please forgive me. I didn't mean for this to happen.
[What she means to say is: I can't control this.]
D
[The party getting strangely rained out wasn't a huge deal, but it also might be a huge deal. Haru is ushering some of the smaller Palai to somewhere dry, not having much to offer them in the way of shelter until they get somewhere.]
This could be a bad thing, couldn't it...?
[There is more than a hint of concern in her voice.]

[This particular wallflower is slouching over in the corner . . . well, in some corner-like area well away from the action, perhaps surreptitiously swiping a few pastries. She's not looking at you at first. In fact, she seems positively allergic to eye contact. But if you're looking at her, or around her, you might just notice that the people at the table behind her seem to be eating awfully quickly. Or that a plant next to her is growing right out of its pot, spreading creeping tendrils out to the ground below. Or . . . you fill in the blank.
This curious behavior, when she notices it, makes her stand up straight at last, her eyes darting this way and that to take in the full scale of the . . . speedening. Then she spots you, and her eyes widen as if she's been caught at something.]
Uh.
[Maybe don't come too close, or you could find yourself hopped up on speed too.]
c.
[Or maybe you spot her later in the night, trying to disentangle herself from two Palai children with an increasingly alarmed look on her face. Look closer and you'll see that one--the one tugging on her skirt--seems to be moving in slow motion, while the other is chattering happily at her at a rate that doesn't seem physically possible, even for an excited kid.
She looks between one and the other, her eyes wide as dinner plates. Help, her whole posture seems to be saying.]
d.
[Someone figured out her power just in time, it seems--above and around Tara-Fay, the droplets of falling water slow and freeze, although if you examine one up close you'll realize that it's just moving really, really slowly. There's a slow smile spreading across her face as she looks around at the coven members and Palai ducking across the rain.
She walks down one of the marketplace streets, and the freezing-rain effect comes along with her, droplets suspended in mid-air in a dome-shaped area around her. She reaches out to touch one, her expression one of wonder.]

[Rocks he could have handled, but electricity sparking over his armor? Even Al can't act unfazed by that, to say nothing of the attention it could attract. He crosses his arms and looks down at the Palai children responsible with as much sternness as he can convey.]
You should put those away before someone gets hurt.
[His tone of voice is fairly gentle, all things considered, but a good look at him gets the kids to comply pretty quickly anyway. Al sighs and shakes his head as he watches them rush off.]
Tell me I'm not the only one who feels like a terrible influence.
c;
[Slingshot mishaps aside, trying to cheer up the mourning Palai children is clearly the most worthy cause of the night, and where Al spends most of his time. For the most part this amounts to letting them climb all over him, but after a while he transmutes some simple toys for them as well. Maybe they're getting bored of the figurines being lizard shaped, though, because when someone else walks by they're quickly met with clamors of oh, do them next! Well. This is no time to turn down a request. Al gives the newcomer an appraising look before he claps his hands and creates a tiny stone likeness of them on the ground in a flash of light. Congrats, you now have your own action figure.]

Wait-- what?!
[he pauses what he's doing and uncurls from his corner to sidle over to Alphonse, a feat for something thirty feet tall. that toy looked like him! where did it come from so suddenly?!]

[a farm girl's appetite after a grueling battle and a buffet of sweet, tempting (if also vibrating) pastries must be a recipe for disaster. jeanne never stood a chance...
the unexpected consequence of digging in is that she glows with an almost too pure heavenly light, one that outlines her limbs and enhances the already golden sheen of her long hair. isn't this fitting for a saint? well, whatever. it wouldn't be such a problem—really, she could tolerate it!—if not for the fact that touching or even bumping into another person on accident makes them glow, too.]
I... I'm not going to regret it.
[heavenly-glowing!jeanne is currently staring down a pastry on the plate she's holding, with a bit of sugar brushed over the side of her mouth.]
C ➻
[jeanne may not be certain what these grieving children need to heal their hearts, but she does know what rejuvenates her in her period of mourning. it's about time to pay her respects to those palai she was not able to save.
it starts inconspicuously enough, honestly—a palai youngster catches sight of her kneeling to the ground (in her dress!), hands interlocked, head bowed. he asks what she's doing, receives an explanation, and... now there is suddenly a group of them outside the marketplace, engaging peacefully in silent prayer.
will you stop by? are you ready for spontaneous bible school, too? do you have something to say about pushing religion on kids...?!]
E ➻
[of course, what do you really do at a celebration like this? it's a far cry from the raucous, easy gatherings of soldiers she's most familiar with, but jeanne does appreciate the chance to simply spend time being around the palai and her fellow coven members.
when she's not advising the palai on their construction of homemade weapons of all types or speaking with the palai children—a rare moment indeed—she can be found hovering along the edges of the crowd, without entering into it. jeanne is unaccompanied. if you're good at picking up small details, you may notice that there's dirt clinging to her dress and stockings, and the flowers in her hair are ruffled.
maybe you'd like to chat? or, perhaps, you could ask the lady for a dance.]
e.
For a celebration, you seem a bit quiet. I don't mean to pry, but is... everything alright?
[ his expression is genuine, mild concern in his eyes. those small details don't escape his notice, but at the same time she strikes him as nothing but refined and dignified. it's not something he can quite explain. it just is. ]

[ There just a few pastries on Hibiki's plate. Why could that be, especially since he's known for his sweet tooth? Well...it's because he has eaten lots of them already. The sensation of something vibrating in his mouth was something he needed to get used to, but given the number of consumed pastries, he's fine now.
For the most part, that is. It's difficult not to notice a few paper crows floating next to him and one of them sitting on top of his head. That's not everything, though. If there's anything made out of paper nearby, there's a high chance that it'll end up in Hibiki's face. ]
Annoying.

Pick the real one, please.

[Upon arriving to the party, it will not take very long for Nike to mingle with the Palai, finding many of them calling her over or coming up to her to talk. All of which she is very grateful for since most of their conversations were with gratitude while others feeling concern for her well-being. Too bad it isn't long until a certain princess gets zapped. Not only zapped, but caught off guard by it too.
The next chain of events will have Nike from comically chasing after the kids responsible for zapping her, to lecturing them on the dangers of doing that sort of activity in a crowded area without any training, and to her confiscating one and offering a demonstration on properly using it by hitting a clean hit on topping over a cup that was on the edge of one of the tables.
Somehow, Nike is found doing all types of antics after the given demonstration: she found a way to set up an area for the kids to practice their aim at by using cans, bottles, cups, and whatever else they could find as their new targets. She can be found giving spartain-like instruction, helping the kids with their aim and even stance. If not that, she can be found returning the items on the tables while the children continue to fire (she has a group of kids scavanging for more items to replace any broken ones).]
Remember, everyone! If I get hit even once by any of you while doing this, you will forfeit your right to one of the prizes I have in store for whoever can hit a clean bulleye shot more than three times!
[Upon noticing more Palai citizens -- no matter the age or type -- and those from the coven, Nike will stretch her hands out with a smile.]
You are more than welcome to join on the fun! Grab a slingshot, bring your ammo, and let's get to practicing!
II - RAIN DISUMMONING UNTIL YOU DROP!
a) [When the first drops of rain fall from the sky, Nike's full attention will be on the sky above her with more than ample surprise on her face. All of her thoughts can be easily read by the shock at finding a world that has rain. Just like in her country! It was enough to fuel her homesickness some more. She was hoping to enjoy the rain and the voices that came from this world, really hoping it was this world's way of wishing to show its gratitude and own sorrow over the loss of its native children. However, it was clear from the feelings she was sensing from the Palai that this situation wasn't normal in the least bit. This rain wasn't the true version of it -- the version she usually summons back in her world.
The salty element will reach her tongue upon inspecting it while she began to notice other peculiarities too -- the drops were too big and were falling in an alarming rate; faster than the average rain shower.]
...at this rate, this place could...
[Her clothes, her hair, and boots were more than just wet, they were soaked and getting closer to soak the rest of her underclothes. Nike will watch as everyone searches for cover. All she can do in this situation was: sing to change the flow of the rain shower. But, was she strong enough to accomplish it? Was her bond with the Palai people enough to do it? If there were more rain summoners like her, then it would be beyond helpful. All she can do is rely on whoever had an ability similar to her own.
Whatever the case, Nike will take a deep breath and begin to hum her wish before beginning to sing her rain song in an attempt to plea to the world surrounding her to listen to her prayer in thinning the rain drops while allowing them to drop in a more even but lighter rate, now if it helps any will be determine in a few moments as she begins to put all of her force and passion into her song that it may catch the attention of all those nearby -- mainly the Palai as her prayer is connected directly to them, their focus turning to the summoner instead of running. Someone should try and get these people to move on as Nike was incapable to at the moment.]
b) [Nike will continue to sing her song, trying her best to connect with this new world, growing fully concentrated on her song, even when her voice begins to break, lose its original momentum and volume, and turning hoarse. She was running out of willpower to continue her song after keeping the rain light for the last fifteen minutes. Singing the entire time!
Even though it may seem like she was suffering, there was no signs of her ending her song any time soon. She will continue to sing her song as though she was in an eternal loop mode. If anyone gets close enough to her, they'll begin to notice her gaze no longer held any form of focus -- it was in a darker shade of green with no light to them, almost as though she was completely possessed by her own song.
She may need help to snap out of it or get her to stop singing as it was clear she was getting close to collapsing, if she already hasn't in the next minute or so.]
(ooc: If you wanna do anything specific with Nike or want me to type up a personal prompt, then PM or pp me over at
iib; my computer ate my original tag sorry if this one is crap
He doesn't know whether they'll ever return to this world. Or when. So it's better to experience it now that he can. So, draped in a large leather coat he had managed to bargain for, he walks the streets, occasionally stopping to help someone to shelter. The coat is large enough to mostly keep him dry, even though the material isn't water proof.
Eventually he stumbles upon where Nike is standing. Riku doesn't realize what she's doing at first, but as he draws closer he begins to hear her voice over the rain. Her song is unlike anything he's ever heard. But there's something about her stillness and lack of reaction to his approach that makes it all feel off somehow.]
Hey. Are you alright? [He raises his voice to be heard over the rain and her singing.]
this one is totally fine, no worries! :Db

[Magic going haywire is acceptable this time around--all he does is sparkle, so it's not like anyone's gonna have their day ruined, right?
It depends. Because with his power going, little twinkling lights all around him as he stuffs his face, Jotaro looks like he was lifted from one of a thousand anime scenes, and if you stop to stare, he's probably gonna yell at you.
Please harass him anyway.]
C
[Jotaro doesn't know much about dealing with kids, but that doesn't make him any less of a sucker for them. Right now he's sitting on the ground with three around him and a fourth in his lap, and he's telling them a story. Quietly. Because no way in hell is he letting anyone in the coven hear him talk this much in one shot.
If you get close enough, though, you can hear him telling them about Momotaro. It's super cute, guys. Don't ruin the moment, or maybe do.]

[Hakuno, as some might have discovered, is a girl with a particularly notable love of sweets. She ate several of the pastries before she noticed anything of note occurring. But, eventually, the Eltos kicks in, and interferes with her most recent power.
It leaves her... diminished.
She has a quiet moment of bewildered, tail-bristling, ear-twitching shock, before taking a small, measured breath, and deciding it doesn't matter. It does not matter. She'll either find a way to fix it or get carried around for the rest of her life, the way she did in full squirrel form.
For now? For now, she perches on an overturned, empty cup, sipping out of a straw in another, full cup, and contentedly munching on a still human-sized pastry, happy as a clam.]

[After being pelted with one too many electric rocks (so, one), Robin demanded a slingshot of his own. He's an Archer, so ranged weapons come easily to him, and it wasn't like he started out with an arm-mounted crossbow. He would easily hand the kids their butts if it came down to a contest.
Somehow it ends up coming down to Robin teaching the kids how to aim a slingshot.]
Up a little higher, kiddo. All you're gonna hit from that angle is the dirt. No, you can't use me as target practice!
[It seemed like he had it together at first, but the kids realize annoying Robin is really funny pretty quickly.]
c. this story sucks mate
[Some of the smaller Palai have isolated themselves, and if there's one thing Robin's good at it's hanging out on the fringes of a party. It's one thing for him to do it, but kids...they don't need to cut themselves off like that. Not yet. It's a simple thing, but he can be found crouching next to one of a handful of Palai kids at any given time, trying to get them to talk to him. Some of them he has more success with than the others, and he talks about anything they want to with them. For the ones that are a little more reluctant, it's up to him to shoulder the brunt of the conversation.
Robin lost his parents when he was young, too - and because the villagers he lived among had concerns that he'd been possessed by the supernatural, he didn't even have a village to fall back on. He leaves that second part out, not wanting to scare the kids too much, but...maybe it will help them if they know they aren't alone in this. Robin is hardly the idea of a successful adult, but the Palai all seem to think the world of the coven for helping them.
He might as well take advantage of that.]
