[WORLD ONE | UVI ATTACK]
Who: The Uvi and coven members
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 32 & 33
Open/Closed: Open to All

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 32 & 33
Open/Closed: Open to All

For coven members who haven't been in Aimintas very long, the panic of the Palai the past few days may seem like overkill. The day goes by rather quietly and Aimintas looks like a ghost town throughout the morning and most of the afternoon. Not one Palai can be seen, with shops closed and the roads virtually empty, aside from coven members. It isn't until the sky is turning a nice shade of pink that things begin. Observant people who may be gazing up at the ocean will see the very small dots in the sky that begin to approach at a very quick speed. If you're outside, you may get to see the Uvi up close -- but perhaps not for very long. The Uvi have rubbery bones, and they hit the dirt in a curled up position, unrolling themselves and leaping up on long, scaled legs. The shortest Uvi might come in at five feet tall, but most range from six to seven. They're lithe and gilled -- you may think they want to rely on stealth, but the sound coming out of their gills is very loud and raspy. There's no way you can't hear them coming as the ominous and rapid noise follows them everywhere. Some of them are walking around empty handed, eyes scanning and striding up to buildings, banging on the outside and observing the inside of the house as much as they possibly can. Others are carrying large, bleached tools made of fish bone and teeth. Some look like long blades, while others look like long axes. These are used for cutting into doors and other violent tasks they feel the need to complete.
If your character confronts the Uvi, they better be prepared for an attack. B ▢ Alternatively, maybe your character is caught outside and ill-equipped to handle the Uvi. Running is an option! ...But they better be able to run fast. Maybe your character gets lucky enough to run into someone who can help them, but they'd best hope they find each other fast. C ▢ Your character may also be committed to love and justice, fighting the forces of evil with good. It's very unlikely that Palai blood goes unspilled tonight, but your character may be able to prevent it as much as possible. Just be warned: if they confront the Uvi who are trying to break into a Palai house, they're going to be in for a fight. D ▢ Other characters may already be hiding, whether in the coven house or with Palai in their own homes. They'll hear the Uvi's harsh, gasping breathing before they see them, but if they do hear that raspy noise, they'd better be quick thinkers. Whether the Uvi visiting turns into a brawl or a blood bath, eventually the Uvi will return to the ocean with Palai bodies in tow. At around 4 AM, the Uvi begin to shriek, some making noises that are too high pitched for most ears to hear. From the sky, large flying fish descend from the sky and find their masters. The Palai are hoisted onto the back of these creatures and they take off, flying back into the ocean.
F ▢ Maybe your character is more into the idea of following the Uvi back home. It's possible! Once the Uvi breach the ocean, they swim fast through the dark water for miles and miles. The journey is treacherous, and some may stop the trek to attack in the water where they're more at home. If your character makes it to their lair, they'll find that it's a dense wad of seaweed that stays static in the ocean. The Uvi are used to the toxicity of the leaves, but trying to enter means touching these leaves that leave large, skin-melting welts as they grow and burst. G ▢ Wildcard! How will your character handle this violent and volatile situation. |

F; the lair, because why not tag you twice
[ his eyes flicker down towards dirk's wrist. ]
Show me your hand.

—but he saw Palai die.]
no subject
Hundreds upon hundreds of Palai will live to see tomorrow because of your efforts. To die knowing you are not alone in this world is a gift in of itself -- everything that has been done here today, the wounds and the weight you carry, has already proven to be worthwhile. You've saved lives. Don't fault yourself for this.
[ whether or not the wound begins to heal is entirely dependent on dirk, but he'll try nonetheless. ]
no subject
What the fuck. Are you making my wounds heal by talking nicely to me.
[THE SITUATION IS URGENT BUT HE HAS TO ASK WHAT THE FUCK]
no subject
I'm...trying to-...Don't distract me!
[ DEEP BREATH. he's gonna get back at it. ]
Despite your youth, you fight with precision and fire -- fighting in a war requires strength, and when it is for those who are not your own...even more so. There is good in you. I can see that.
[ THIS IS SO HARD!!!! ]
I wouldn't have helped you if I hadn't seen a reason to.
no subject
You have to realize it all sounds kind of forced now that I have the context. It's okay to stop, dude; I can work with this injury easy.
[He can probably find healers who don't look like they're doing to die from saying nice things.]
c!! faitooo
He knows what that axe could be used for, and he quickly springs into action, attacking it with his Keyblade before it can reach the door — it may be a giant, silly-looking key, but he can do some decent damage with it, okay. Unfortunately, it's strong as hell, so when it counters, it ends up knocking Sora back a few steps, at which point he's piled on by a few lesser Uvi, likely to keep him down while that stronger one readies its axe towards him. ] Hey — get off!
[ Little help? ]

no subject
Thanks! I owe you one!
no subject
Don't worry about it. You unharmed?
no subject
Speaking of the swarm, they're all getting up now and moving towards the two of them again. Wonderful! He'll ready his Keyblade in response to it. ]
Man, these guys don't know when to quit.
no subject
[He knows video game battles; there has to be someone somewhere. Or at least a midboss!
Dirk has gotten better at team fighting over six months; it isn't as natural with those he has actively practiced with, but he still knows to watch Sora's back and be there to help out when needed.
He's a bit worse at waiting for someone else to help him when HE needs an assist.]

Minato isn't as quick on his feet as he fights. His eyes are wide and scanning, trying to pinpoint the Uvis on the streets— and it has to be pinpoint, because he lifts his gun-shaped Evoker to his head and fires it into his temple, summoning two of his Personas: the Japanese god of thunder, Take-Mikazuchi, and the German god of thunder, Thor. ]
Thunder Call!
[ With that call, bolts of lighting descend from the sky and strike down half a dozen Uvi all at once, leaving them shocked still in place as their muscles contract and lock from the electricity. This is where he could use Dirk's help in taking them out, because summoning two Personas has Minato stumbling back, nearly falling over with the effort it takes. ]
no subject
Minato is nearly falling over, and Dirk makes a quick call. He moves fast to slice through the paralyzed Uvi, decapitating them, and lets the alarm send any others back as he flashsteps over to Minato's side and grabs him.]
Stick with me, dude. I don't have any bread.
no subject
I can keep going. They're retreating?
no subject
[He scans around.]
The marketplace will have food.
[It's a detour from the residences but Dirk can get Minato there fast, feed him, and then bring him back into the fight.]
no subject
[ They don't have time for the marketplace, and Minato trudges off after the Uvi. He doesn't need to worry about food just yet— he'd gotten through much of the battle with Personas who can regenerate little by little, and there's always his backup plan: little beads in an orange bag, and he tips a couple out onto his palm and turns back into
stale bread, rancid gravy, a hefty bag of cat food
if he eats these, he'll probably get sick and die. Honestly, he should have restocked with actual food items in preparation for today, but he felt how many beads were in his bag and thought "nah, i have enough" and didn't stop to consider what expired items he was carrying around. ]
no subject
[Dirk is now going to STICK WITH MINATO because he is very wary that Minato is just going to DIE any second now. He's going to be annoyingly proactive to try to stop Minato from doing anymore persona summoning!]

There, get it!
no subject
[He is very glad to see the dragon in action and he responds by taking Geir's set-up, slicing the fish straight through to take it out. It's the sort of hard, clean cut he reserved for fighting sharks before, and now it's coming in handy here.]
Thanks, dude!
no subject
[delighted by Dirk's slice; he's never seen this kind of flashy fighting before. he's much more used to watching the brutal efficiency of the gods and giants; even Loki, who doesn't always rely on brute force, is more likely to go for sneakiness and dirty tricks than style.]
Can you do two at once like that?
[if Dirk can, he bets he can set it up.]
no subject
I can if you can set it up for me.
[People are dying, guys.]
no subject
Geir THROWS A GIANT FISH AT ANOTHER GIANT FISH. they gape stupidly, gasping, as one of them bounces off of the other. there will never be a better time for some slick operator to rush in and just slice the shit out of both of them in one fell swoop. Geir bellows in excitement.]
Get'em!
