[ if you’ve been walking around shehui the past few days, you’ve likely been passed a flyer by chika, riko, dia or ruby that seems to be advertising some sort of concert. as a matter of fact, that’s exactly what’s happening - the night before sunsu, the members of the school idol group aqours currently in the coven will be hosting their first live in a new world to celebrate the holiday season! that much is outlined on the flyer as a subtitle, along with cute designs and the date and time for the show. it’s all set out to be very exciting, so why not show up?

it’s a bit chilly on the night of the live, but comfortable enough that being dressed for the weather should be enough. glowsticks in orange, pink, red and magenta are complementary for all attendees, so feel free to take one as you enter the venue. there seems to be plenty of people interested in the idea of an idol performance - hopefully you’ve gotten a good space to watch!

the stage lights dim for a moment - when they brighten again, the idols in question have taken the stage in their own personalized festive costume. once they’ve taken position, the music for the first song begins. of course, there’s proper choreography to go right along with it, and although they may not be a full group, it’s a solid performance!

when the crowd has died down from their cheering after their final pose, the lights turn to them. ]

Hello everyone! We’re Aqours, a band of school idols from a high school known as Uranohoshi Girls High! It’s far, far away, but we’re still proud to represent our wonderful school. Sadly, there are only four out of nine of us here tonight, but… we’ll do our best, okay? Hanamaru-chan, Yoshiko-chan, You-chan, Mari-chan, and Kanan-chan… they’re all here with us in spirit. With that, let us introduce ourselves!

Good evening! My name is Riko Sakurauchi and I’m a second year student at Uranohoshi Girls High and a member of a school idol group Aqours. Thank you so much for coming and please enjoy the show!

G-G-Good evening! I-I’m Ruby Kurosawa, a first year at Uranohoshi Girls High... Um… I-I really hope you like the outfits I made for us today. I worked really hard on them... And because you came to support us here, I’ll do my Rubesty for you, too! Ehehe...

Good evening, everyone! Thank you for joining us tonight. I am Dia Kurosawa, a third year and the student council president at Uranohoshi Girls High. Though we are not able to be with our full group tonight, we appreciate your support!

Is everyone having a good evening? This is Chika Takami here, resident school idol, leader of Aqours and second year at Uranohoshi Girls High! We’re here to give you a great show tonight, so sing along with us, will you? Even if you don’t know the words, everyone can join in! This is a time to put all your worries behind you and have fun!

[ the next two songs serve as a calming scene and a finale respectively, with a proper goodbye and thank you to the audience between them. it’s a little short as far as lives go, but there’s a parting promise to have more fun on stage in the future.

[ It's hard not to feel out of place among all the younger folk with their glow sticks, happily singing along and dancing eagerly to the music. Noctis stands like a shadow in the back, arms crossed over his chest, unsure what to really do. He's never been to a concert like this before as his royal status often afforded him an unusual and cloistered upbringing, and he's not exactly 'into' this kind of music. However, Dia invited him, and he felt bad saying no. Not to mention Prompto wanted to tag along to ogle the cute girls even if his friend hadn't so much said that part out loud. He knows him well enough by now to know that's exactly what he's doing.

Afterwards, he does spot Dia among the throng of new fans, awkwardly holding his hand up in a shy wave before smiling. ]

It wasn't bad.

[ He almost winces at his own words. That sounds like he was miserable the whole time, but he did find his foot tapping along to some of it. ]

I mean, all this is... kind of new. The crowd was pretty big.

[Honestly, Dia is surprised to even see Noctis here. Just as she is done greeting all of the attendees in the immediate area she is going to wave back at him.]

The crowds can get even bigger at competitions. This is small compared to the things we are used to.

[ Having followed his best buddy off to see the show, he can't help but be excited. After having suffered living in the middle of nowhere, some semblance of normalcy is more than welcome. If that means having to go to watch cute idol ladies dancing around and singing perky songs, he's all for it.

So he joins Noctis in visiting the pretty lady who was singing with her team, his camera at the ready, though he makes a face when Noctis talks. He whips his head around to look at him with a look that's screaming "Really?!" Before he quickly lifts his own hand and greets. ]

But you all were totally rocking the place, Miss! I'd almost given up hope of seeing a good performance until you all!! Don't mind my buddy here. He's just in awe of how cute you lot were.

[ Smooth Criminal, that's him! Noctis better be grateful he's so good at this. ]

[ Honestly, Amanda wouldn't have given a good god damn about showing up for some concert if it hadn't been for the sisters being involved, but hey, she's got a soft spot for the both of them. Chika's the one she ends up bumping into afterwards though, and she remembers their little introduction. ]

[ it's hard not to notice the flyers posted all over shehui, colorful and vibrant enough to get her attention. A2 spends most of her time doing odd jobs and wandering around that she's seen them often and though she doesn't know any of the performers, curiosity strikes anyway.

it's more crowded than she expected -- A2's never attended a live concert before, nor has she ever thought she would have the chance to. the only thing close enough that comes to mind is the opera singer from the amusement park, but that is, thankfully, very different from this. A2 finds herself sitting on a higher and less crowded area at the venue with some new digs that sort of blends her in with the citizens (jude would be proud that she's actually wearing clothes for once, probably), watching the concert through all three songs. her experience is severely lacking, but judging by the crowd's reaction, it's a solid performance.

A2 waits for most of the people to leave before jumping down, landing some distance from the stage. as coven members, she figures the girls won't really care about stuff like that since everyone has their own magical abilities anyway, but the landing jostles her enough for the necklace in her pocket to fall out. it rolls across the ground to stop at chika's feet; so much for leaving quietly. ]

[ chika was dabbing at the sweat plastering her hair to her forehead with a handkerchief when she sees the little trinket roll on toward her. cocking her head to the side in curiosity, she crouches down to pick it up — and then she sees a2 hovering above her.

she's so pretty, is the first thing chika thinks. and she's so cool...

there are practically stars in her eyes when she stands up, clutching the pendant in hand. ]

E-Excuse me... Um, is this yours?

[ chika holds it out to her. ]

[ even the ever-shy ruby can be seen after the performance! she'll be a little nervous towards new faces, but will thank people for coming to see them perform as best as she can. feel free to say hi, compliment her costume handiwork, or ask her what the heck a "rubesty" is. ]

[ oh... ruby might not be that observant, but she does know when she's being watched. it has her slightly uneasy a she greets some of the other audience members - on the off chance that their eyes meet, she'll quickly look away. ]

[Loud noises are far from Lalli's favorite thing, but a chance to see his meek roommate in her element doesn't come around a bunch...and Hate Death might me a completely morbid twist on it, but it's turned idols into a vague interest, maybe. Seeing the reality might do him some good.

The chubby yellow lizard with a knit hat, mittens, and thick sweatshirt all made to look like a deer certainly thinks so. Lisko toddles alongside their Night Dad, hand in hand, humming a reprise from the performance. At least one of them is comfortable looking happy and carefree.]

[ she's still experimenting with saying it to people outside of aqours. this isn't a great start, but she still likes it. ]

I made it up. Because I'm Ruby, and I want to do my best, so... Rubesty! [ she does the arm motion along with it. ] It kind of helps with nerves, sometimes...

[ He's still lingering around after the show, feeling kind of weird being the only one dressed head to toe in black while everyone is younger, clad in brighter colors, covered in glow sticks. He sticks out terribly which makes him feel doubly awkward about coming here, but it was an experience. At least, he can say that much.

After greeting Dia, he moves around the crowd, trying to look for his friend who seems to have gotten swallowed up at some point. Several eager onlookers try and meet the girls, pushing along and causing him to stumble until he nearly crashes into one of Dia's friends. He quickly spares himself from bumping into her with an apologetic look. ]

Sorry, uh... you got a lot of fans.

[ Way to point out the obvious. His fingers are already combing through the back of his hair as he straightens up. ]

You don't have to do your 'rubesty.' Just dropped in for a bit.

[ He's not even sure if he wants to know what that is. ]

[ it's true that idol culture doesn't quite fit everyone, and ruby understands that. even so, she wants to try her best to spread the good that idols do and make people smile in ways that others on stage have made her smile. if at least one person attending a live can leave saying that they've had a good time, she'll consider it a success.

what she's a little less okay with is strangers talking to her one-on-one, but she's doing her best to not scream and run. it's all very overwhelming, but dia, chika and riko's presence keeps her grounded enough to swallow down her fear. for the sake of those supporting them, she will persevere... even if one of those people is a tall man with dark hair that looks incredibly intimidating to her dainty 5-foot-nothing self. she squeaks when their eyes lock, offering him an apologetic bow of her own. ]

I-I-It's okay! Um... Thank you for coming...!

[ she saw this guy talking to dia. that should mean that he's okay, so she gives him a shaky smile. she must defend her catch phrase. ]

But I do! I always try to do my Rubesty when I'm on stage... It's important.

[ ...akechi doesn't really want to be here, to be honest, but dia is his roommate and it'd probably be rude not to go? he expects the singing to be boring but to his surprise he ends up liking it more than he thought he would - while he wouldn't call himself a fan, the performance is decent and he doesn't regret coming to see it.

sometime after the show's over, he catches sight of ruby and decides to walk over to her. 'sup, tiny idol friend. ]

Is "Rubesty" a catchphrase you came up with?

[ she knew that he was rooming with her sister (scandalous), but ruby hadn't actually expected him to show up. she's actually pretty happy to see him, if her smile is any indicator. at his question, she nods and giggles shyly. ]

I made it up to give myself courage before I go on stage... But I want to share it with people that come to support us, too.

RIKO SAKURAUCHI

[ After the performance, Riko can be found thanking everyone for coming to see the group, so don't be a stranger and come to say hello! Alternatively, she'll be winding down and wandering around the venue, holding a few glowsticks that were lying around. Maybe someone dropped theirs by accident or forgot to take it...? Whatever's the reason, Riko might have yours! ]

[She'd attended on a whim after seeing the fliers and with little else to do at the time she thought it couldn't hurt. She was very happy to have done so. It was a wonderful performance and for a moment she forgot all her worries. Getting lost in the music had been just what she needed.

Afterwards she winds up doing something similar. It's mostly because she doesn't want to see the place get littered and so she gathers some glowsticks with the intent to toss them. They probably didn't want them if they just left them on the ground, right?

She has a few in hand herself and then accidentally bumps into Riko when she isn't paying attention.] Oh, excuse me--ah! [She pauses. Wait, isn't she one of the performers...?!]

[ To be fair, lost in her thoughts, Riko wasn't really paying attention either...! She can't even tell if it was the other girl's fault or her own, that's why she's smiling apologetically. ]

It's okay, I'm fine! Oh, you're picking them up too? Thank you so much! I'm not sure why so many people left them here...

[ Maybe they should've said that they're free of charge or something. Sure, they're going to stop working eventually, but it could've been a nice memento from the live concert.

Or maybe it's just Riko who thinks that. ]

[ chika jumps up behind her and wraps her arms around her neck in a surprise hug from behind. ]
