[ if you’ve been walking around shehui the past few days, you’ve likely been passed a flyer by chika, riko, dia or ruby that seems to be advertising some sort of concert. as a matter of fact, that’s exactly what’s happening - the night before sunsu, the members of the school idol group aqours currently in the coven will be hosting their first live in a new world to celebrate the holiday season! that much is outlined on the flyer as a subtitle, along with cute designs and the date and time for the show. it’s all set out to be very exciting, so why not show up?

it’s a bit chilly on the night of the live, but comfortable enough that being dressed for the weather should be enough. glowsticks in orange, pink, red and magenta are complementary for all attendees, so feel free to take one as you enter the venue. there seems to be plenty of people interested in the idea of an idol performance - hopefully you’ve gotten a good space to watch!

the stage lights dim for a moment - when they brighten again, the idols in question have taken the stage in their own personalized festive costume. once they’ve taken position, the music for the first song begins. of course, there’s proper choreography to go right along with it, and although they may not be a full group, it’s a solid performance!

when the crowd has died down from their cheering after their final pose, the lights turn to them. ]

Hello everyone! We’re Aqours, a band of school idols from a high school known as Uranohoshi Girls High! It’s far, far away, but we’re still proud to represent our wonderful school. Sadly, there are only four out of nine of us here tonight, but… we’ll do our best, okay? Hanamaru-chan, Yoshiko-chan, You-chan, Mari-chan, and Kanan-chan… they’re all here with us in spirit. With that, let us introduce ourselves!

Good evening! My name is Riko Sakurauchi and I’m a second year student at Uranohoshi Girls High and a member of a school idol group Aqours. Thank you so much for coming and please enjoy the show!

G-G-Good evening! I-I’m Ruby Kurosawa, a first year at Uranohoshi Girls High... Um… I-I really hope you like the outfits I made for us today. I worked really hard on them... And because you came to support us here, I’ll do my Rubesty for you, too! Ehehe...

Good evening, everyone! Thank you for joining us tonight. I am Dia Kurosawa, a third year and the student council president at Uranohoshi Girls High. Though we are not able to be with our full group tonight, we appreciate your support!

Is everyone having a good evening? This is Chika Takami here, resident school idol, leader of Aqours and second year at Uranohoshi Girls High! We’re here to give you a great show tonight, so sing along with us, will you? Even if you don’t know the words, everyone can join in! This is a time to put all your worries behind you and have fun!

[ the next two songs serve as a calming scene and a finale respectively, with a proper goodbye and thank you to the audience between them. it’s a little short as far as lives go, but there’s a parting promise to have more fun on stage in the future.

[ Even if he isn't into that kind of music- but who's going to complain with a bunch of cute idols? Then he realizes that Dia might have been addressing Noctis- which is normal. Every girl wants to talk to him, of course, even back home, so it's not like that's a surprise.

Still, when Dia actually addresses him, he perks up, laughing sheepishly. ]

Nice to meet you! I'm Prompto! Looks like Noct's a big fan now, so you should totally let him take a picture with you, Miss. It might be his last bit of happiness for a while...!

[ Don't worry, Noct. He won't tell Luna he was cavorting around with another cute girl. ]

[ Whether she was "off" or "on," Noctis has no way of telling the difference. She sounded okay to him, too, shrugging lightly along with Prompto's statement before elbowing his friend. "Big fan" is a generous term. He's never heard of them before today, a fact he almost points out, but he doesn't want to actually hurt the girl's feelings. Better to just grumble at Prompto later. ]

Yeah, totally into this all now.

[ Spoken with a very minuscule amount of zeal and enthusiasm before he realizes what Prompto's tagged onto his words. ]

W-wait! A pic with me?

[ There's an underlying chastisement in the vein of "Damn it, Prompto!" before Noctis shrinks back, trying to make himself less noticeable somehow. ]

Why not you? You're the one who was singing along to her music.

[ Is he that possessive over his camera that he won't give it up so he can take the picture instead? ]

[Dia doesn't expect instant fans, but she does appreciate the support. More than anything it was really nice to see a smile on her sisters face.]

We're all friends here, right...?

[She pulls out a phone, turning it on and getting to some really cutesy camera app.]

What if the three of us just took a selfie together? Creating memories is the most important part, even if I only just met one of you.

[That was probably the most logical and most tame solution, leave it to Dia to come up with that one, right? It's just in her Student Council president nature to resolve minor conflicts such as this one.]

[ He doesn't even care, Noctis was the one who told him about these cuties so of course he'd be the one he'd take a picture of with her. He's about to protest with that, when Dia, smarter than them both, offers a solution that's his absolute favourite! ]

You get it, Miss! That's exactly why! Memories!

[ Noctis won't have many chances to relax like this, it's why he wants all those special memories to be saved in pictures. That way, no matter what he chooses in the future- he can always look back on these fun times and relax.

And so Noctis is grabbed with an arm thrown around his shoulder, and he offers to take the phone from Dia- he has the longest arms here, so they'll get all of them in together. ]

And a selfie is the best way to do it, right Noct?

[ Embarrassing photos aren't exactly the memories he wants to keep, but he feels like he's already outvoted in this decision. So awkwardly selfie is a go. He tries not to smush in too close with Dia who ends up being tucked into the center of them. It's a little hard to fit all three faces in there, and Noctis does his best not to make a dumb or silly expression.

However, his trademark 'cool' look is just sad and reeking of 'trying too hard.' Just humor him please. He wants to look as though he's not internally worrying about how this photo is going to come out and how far up his nostrils everyone will be able to see. After that, there's a strained smile, fingers in a v-shape because what else is he going to do? Aaaand camera click.

He breathes a sigh of relief after, shuffling away to look at the image. ]

It's not bad. Prompto looks like a puffy blowfish as usual, though.

[ Serves him right for dragging him into the impromptu photo op. His finger pokes Prompto's cheek to drive the point home. ]

Are we free now?

[Noctis, be real. You may look back on this photo many years from now and remember the spunky little idol girl you met in a weird place in another world. Either way, Dia is doing it out of desire for the memory too. She does consider Noctis a friend.

She tries her hardest not to laugh at Noctis trying to be "cool" and Prompto looking goofy. It's just the kind of thing she sort of expected? It's nice.]

I think we all look nice.

[She takes her phone back.]

I'll send the photo along if one of you doesn't mind sharing your contact information? I suppose if you want to be free from selfies, you are allowed now.

[She knows what it's like though, being the one that is always strict and uptight. Letting go once in a while is healthy and she hopes her brooding friend can figure that out.]

[ He grins and elbows Noctis in the side, giving him an amused look. ]

Don't mind my buddy here. He never knows how to act around cute girls. Bet he totally wants to take some more- and you can send 'em to me! I'll make sure this guy makes it his wallpaper, with you front and center, Miss!

[ He'll do that, as he rests his elbow on Noctis' shoulder. ]

Besides, he's gotta show his cute bride too, when we go back. She's gonna wanna see all the cool people he's met! That's why I've been taking all the pictures of him that I can too, or Lady Lunafreya's gonna think this guy's a dullard who doesn't know how to have any fun!

[ And then he pauses. Was he supposed to say that. What if Noctis found this girl cute and wanted to ask her out? A prince and idol affair wouldn't have been too terrible as long as it didn't happen after the wedding, shit, he's so sorry Noct, ahhh! ]

Because a certain someone won't stop making me take them every second.

[ Gee, he wonders who that can be. Though he clams up a bit at the mention of Luna and elbows him fast, remembering she's probably still waiting in Altissia for them. He hopes they really can save these pictures and show them to her when they get there. She's not going to believe all they'd been through over the course of one tiny boat ride. Even everything that happened before still feels surreal, wanting to believe for a moment that the person who experienced it all isn't him -that he can distance himself from all those feelings and memories.

Enjoying this concert with Prompto and his new friends makes it all too easy to fall into that trap, wanting moments like these to stretch on forever, pretend the world isn't crumbling back home. It's why he retreats into his feelings of embarrassment rather than sorrow, glancing away, feeling his face grow a little flushed. ]

W-why would she want to see that, come on...

[ But the damage is already done, and he hopes this doesn't open any doors to invasive questions about his betrothal. Better deflect fast. ]

Just ignore him. He's only trying his hardest to impress you.

[ -by throwing his best friend under the bus. ]

Maybe if it is ever possible, you can take your bride to be to an idol concert. Maybe she would enjoy them too.
