You're not doing anything right now, right? Good. Genette's using some of the resources taken from Aimintas to create a little get together. Even if you do have something going on, she's not averse to using a little force to make the evening magical. In fact, the magic is exactly how she's pulling this off. Genette is offering you to a little get together at the base camp, which may be all it takes for you to follow her. If not? Your hand is tethered (or some other part of you) quickly and you're led to the camp anyway. This is important, darn it! What's so important? A little "party" of sorts. There's an assortment of foods, some of which have been hastily made since some groups have gone harvesting for new resources, and a large water basin that's acting as a punch bowl. The true purpose of this little activity is a 'get to know you' exercise of sorts. Genette's got a glass container of a large quantity of Elto bones that can short-circuit the tethers, but the caveat is that you have to participate in a little, tethered sharing circle. (It's honestly a good idea to know who you're stuck within your little makeshift coven, but Genette is the pushy sort when she sets her mind to something.) The way to be released from your Elto shackles? Tell everyone your name, where you're from, your magic (seemingly left a little ambiguous) and something else about yourself. Discussions are encouraged! The more people know, the better! After you're done sharing with the class, food and drink is yours to have -- or you can just run off, that's fine too. OOC: Characters who would have absolutely nothing to do with this can of course escape, whether fleeing in the first place or using Elto bones of their own to circuit out their tether.
B ▢ Afterwards, their free to stick around the area and mingle. There IS food and also drinks. They may also want to have a more private conversation about something they learned tonight. |

[Jake is going to fidget with the pocket of his hoodie the whole time, so.]
Um, I'm Jake English. I'm from Hellmurder Island, which I... guess is in the Pacific Ocean somewhere! Though I'm certain the volcano blew it to smithereens, which is... fine, I guess...
[Except it means his grandma's ashes definitely did not make it. God, he should have grabbed those, but so much was happening and— Right no not the time for that. Okay.]
Umm... [What else was there? Oh, right, magic. Uh.] I don't really know what my powers from home do very well aside from explode and make things real but around these parts, I can increase the probability of something?
[Was that it? Wait, no, other facts about himself. Fuck.]
Oh, um... why don't you tell me another thing about yourself instead?
no subject
[She can't help be amaze by that detail. So many island kids around, but then the next part will have her looking a little....surprise.]
H-Hey, you really shouldn't say those things so calmly....
[Jake, why are so calmly explaining that his home may have blown up? What the heck? She is just about to lecture him until he begins to talk about his powers.]
...I...why are you being so vague about your powers all of a sudden?
[JUST WHEN HE CALMLY TALKS ABOUT HIS HOME HAVING BLOWN UP!!! She's just. So much staring.]
No, that's okay, I rather....get to know you better first. We'll trade positions later. I think we have a lot to talk about.
[Like not talking so calmly about your island exploding for one!!!]
no subject
[Casually talking about the Apocalypse probably isn't better, whoops.]
Um! I will answer anything you like!
no subject
Glad you're so open for questions because I have a few.
If Earth and your island blew up, then where are you from? Why did it happen? And how can you be so calm about it? Didn't you have friends and family? Were you the only survival? How did you survive?
[All of these questions will be asked all in one take and under the same breath as she is now trying to regain her breath now.]
no subject
Oh! Golly, um. Well! Okay. Um, in order... [He starts ticking them off his fingers as he talks to keep track.] Earth didn't blow up actually now that I think about it since Dirk and Rox were from the future. But the world ended and all of humanity died. But um, I'm from... the Land of Mounds and Xenon! It was my planet in the game after we entered. I guess I'm calm about it because I do my best not to think about sad things. [Repression is great.] My grandma was my only family and she died when I was five. My only friends were Jane, Roxy and Dirk and they survived.
[Well. They survived that part anyway. He doesn't dwell on it.]
I survived through some convoluted bullshit that Dirk and his AI brain worked out. I definitely almost died! If you mean in general, though, um... I holed up in my room and only ventured out sometimes to get fruit or fish or salvage canned goods from the ruins.
Phew.
no subject
I....I didn't understand most of that. What game? What's an AI? How are Dirk and Rox from the future?
[Okay. Now for the rest.]
The only parts I understood was the end of humanity. Still have no idea what it has to do with the end of the Earth though! Either your planet blew up or everything in it is dead, including nature! You wouldn't be able to survive if the world truly ended unless you can eat dead plants, animals, or contaminated water; if there is water!
[A weak look will appear.]
I'm sorry about your grandmother though. My own raised me too. [And, well, it would break her own heart if anything happened to her. With a much better smile, she'll quickly move on by...] What was Land of the Mounds and Xenon like though?
no subject
[she will answer his question, though!]
Oh! Uh ... [crap, she doesn't have anything interesting to say about herself, either.]
I like crafts, I guess? Things like stationery and knitting. Sorry, that's probably not very interesting.

I bet your doodles were nicer than you think, though! Because you're the one who made them — they're unique to you, I mean.

no subject
Really? That sounds great! And — I'd be honored to have a drawing by you hanging on the wall of my hut.

[she scoots a little closer, so she can get a better look at the art supplies they're working with today.]
Do you have any requests? I can't guarantee it'll be good, but I'll try my best.

[she looks down at the paper and crayons, thinking, and not minding at all that there are a few colors missing. she can work with that — honestly, picking something cute to draw might be the hardest part of this, because pretty much anything small and fluffy fits Madoka's definition of cute.]
[... ... ... ...]
Ah! I know.
[when in doubt, draw the small fluffy thing you remember wishing to save. she's silent for a good 15 minutes, completely lost in concentration.]
[and, well, this is what she comes up with. she seems pretty proud of it, at least!]
no subject
I'm done, too!
[He figures they can trade and holds up his to show her while also looking at what she drew.]
Oh! That's the fluffiest cat I've ever seen!!

[ He's not joking. ]
Right, I've never asked you what your power is. That's...quite interesting. Would you mind if I tested it sometime?
[ A bit surprised that the other facts section evolved into a question about himself, Hibiki blinks, trying to come up with something. ]
I had a pet crow when I was a child.
no subject
Oh, yes of course. You're more than welcome to give it a test run anytime! [A beat.] A pet crow sounds really cool! I always wanted a dog. They're good pets, best friends.
no subject
[ Hibiki nods. ]
I'm more of a cat person to be honest, but I see your point.

[ This...shouldn't be too dangerous, right... ]
no subject
Coming right up!
[Rubbing his hands together, he focuses on what he asked for. A boar and three piglets barging in. A boar and three piglets barging in. A minute later, Hibiki gets his odd wish.
The problem is it really does go by his intent. And when Jake pictures 'barging in', well. Imagine this but instead of a door, it's the nearby trees, and instead of a shark, it's the boar and three piglets. He also didn't think of anything further than that, meaning this poor mother boar and her piglets are now very confused.]
no subject
Oh.
[ That's a quiet gasp from Hibiki who, truth to be told, wasn't sure how Jake's power was supposed to work. He still doesn't know that, but it definitely is working, so.
Besides...shouldn't he be worried about something. Something like WHAT IF THE MOTHER BOAR ATTACKS??? ]
Does your power have any kind of limitations? Or perhaps it's exhausting when you use it repeatedly during a short period of time?
no subject
[The mother boar is at least currently distracted by a nearby crab that she's trying to crush for her babies. Jake frowns.]
I don't... think I have um... any power over them though.
no subject
[ Give him a break, Hibiki??? ]
What if you thought that the next thing I should do is to stand on my head? That would mean that you have control over me if I did it.
