[WORLD ONE] SPEED DATING EXTRAVAGANZA
Who: Participating coven members
Where: The Palai marketplace
When: Day 49
Open/Closed: OTA
[ Any and all who are in the marketplace will find that there is suddenly a mysterious barrier around the marketplace (that may be eerily familiar to some) -- specifically one large portion of the marketplace with a large number of tables and chairs, perhaps purposefully set out for nefarious reasons.
A few Palai are ushering coven members to chairs, and everything seems about normal. As normal as the Palai can be when they're putting on a show anyway. It's not until a sizable portion of the coven members are seated (and also supplied with breadsticks and small shrimp), that things get a bit more bizarre.
Thanks to the power of the Eltos, a small band of energy keeps coven members stuck to the chair (magic can interfere, of course), but that's not the end of it. On each table, next to those delicious smelling breadsticks and shrimp, is a bowl of scraps of papers. Every five minutes, a strip of paper will pop out from the bowl.
If you ask the Palai, they'll be inclined to explain speed dating to you. Asking questions, getting to know a person, then being shimmied off to the next potential mate -- this is made possible by Elto magic yet again, through flying chairs that transport their holder to a new table at standard intervals.
The Palai are extremely invested in this exercise? Will you let them down? ]
[ OOC: In the spirit of speed dating, each character will have a top level. All who want to respond to this top level can with questions from this post, but the threads have to end at 10 comments from each character. After this last tag, the characters can be assumed to have been whisked to a different potential match. You're free to have characters make up their own questions, interact with Palai serving food, etc. ]

[Haru is truly trying So Hard to not be put off by this. But it's hard. Super hard, it's almost too hard. She hates these kinds of situations. Being forcefully set up with someone.]
We could try asking some of these questions for fun?
no subject
Sure. It could be a good way to get to know each other better too.
[And there so happens to be a tiny piece of paper ready to be read too. After reaching for it, she’ll read it outloud.]
Coffee or tea? [A small snort will escape] ...I bet I know the answer, but I’d like to hear it from you instead.
no subject
Tea, if you made me pick. Though I am trying to learn to grown my own coffee beans and make my own blend.
The same question for you, Nike-chan.
no subject
[She couldn’t help feel curious over the process. Coffee was still very new in her world. She has heard mainly rumors of its existence until she arrived to the world they were now in.]
Coffee isn’t too bad. It’s better with cream and sugar. But even then, if I had to choose between the two, tea would still remain my favorite. I think it feels easier to drink.
no subject
[HAru dreams pretty big.]
Back on the first island hub I am growing some tea, I hope it turns out okay....especially with us not being there.
no subject
[Location she won't say much about it since she knows very little about the system of her world. She didn't want to offer false hopes. All she can do was support her on the good ideas and point out her strengths. Haru really is dreaming big!]
I guess we'll have to wait and see. Not much else we can do. But, you could always ask the healing lady about it though. Isn't she the assistant to whoever kidnapped us?
no subject
[It makes her even more motivated!]
But could she really tell what is growing well on the other island? I would feel better knowing everyone's efforts didn't go to waste.
no subject
[Let's add even more motivation by adding a promise on top of it.]
Maybe! I mean, she's connected to the one in charge of bringing us here, right? I like to think this person is powerful enough to watch over a garden or two. I can't imagine her to be the type to be cruel enough to allow one's hard work die without giving us a chance to fix it; not after sending us here for a reason.
[She likes to believe this to be the case. The healing woman has helped her twice already. While whoever chose them couldn't be a terrible person. She gave them a chance to help out a civilization. It couldn't be all coincidence.]
no subject
Mm, perhaps I should ask her then. I never really thought about that. The work that we all did would be much better served protected. Though I don't expect anyone to come pull the weeds for us.
[Haru seems thoughtful about it.]
