[ Any and all who are in the marketplace will find that there is suddenly a mysterious barrier around the marketplace (that may be eerily familiar to some) -- specifically one large portion of the marketplace with a large number of tables and chairs, perhaps purposefully set out for nefarious reasons.

A few Palai are ushering coven members to chairs, and everything seems about normal. As normal as the Palai can be when they're putting on a show anyway. It's not until a sizable portion of the coven members are seated (and also supplied with breadsticks and small shrimp), that things get a bit more bizarre.

Thanks to the power of the Eltos, a small band of energy keeps coven members stuck to the chair (magic can interfere, of course), but that's not the end of it. On each table, next to those delicious smelling breadsticks and shrimp, is a bowl of scraps of papers. Every five minutes, a strip of paper will pop out from the bowl.

If you ask the Palai, they'll be inclined to explain speed dating to you. Asking questions, getting to know a person, then being shimmied off to the next potential mate -- this is made possible by Elto magic yet again, through flying chairs that transport their holder to a new table at standard intervals.

The Palai are extremely invested in this exercise? Will you let them down? ]

[ OOC: In the spirit of speed dating, each character will have a top level. All who want to respond to this top level can with questions from this post, but the threads have to end at 10 comments from each character. After this last tag, the characters can be assumed to have been whisked to a different potential match. You're free to have characters make up their own questions, interact with Palai serving food, etc. ]

... Wow. I never knew so much went into the, uh, process of performing the ritual to crown a king. Of Hell. A king of Hell.

Demonic royalty. Huh.

[ jude looks truly stumped by all of this. he's not quite sure he believes a word of it, but it sure is elaborate. ]

How much of your previous life do you remember?

... Darkness.

[There's a hint of sadness in that response. Some silence before he speaks again.]

I am not one fond of talking about my past to unworthy strangers.

Okay, I'll take the stranger part, but what exactly makes me unworthy? Is there some sort of test I need to pass?

[ this is a serious question. ]

There is no test. I don't know anything about who you are or what your past is so why should I waste my time to tell you my past?

[It's a different situation compared when he told his past to Seiya, who is a young man who has a shining heart. A light among darkness, a young man who tries to have a friend in everyone. Eva opened up to the boy easily the more Seiya pushed to get to know him and learn from him.

Eva could feel good intentions coming from Jude, but he does not feel the same radiance like Seiya had...]

I can tell that you have a good heart even if you are just a stranger to me. I can see that light of your heart through your eyes. Even when I feel no ill intention coming from you, I wish not to share what little past I had with you at the time.

[ jude supposes that's fair. ]

Okay. Maybe another time. I shouldn't have been so presumptuous. I'm not opposed to letting you know more about me, but we're on a time crunch here, aren't we?

I'm glad you are an understanding type. Unfortunately, our time is limited like you said.

[At least he forces up a small smile. Well... Introductions shouldn't hurt? Eva got to have a name with a face among the coven crowd.]

That I can answer. I'm Jude. Jude Mathis.

[ he tries a smile. ]

I don't think I ever got yours, either.

I see.

[He nods towards Jude's answer.]

I am mostly known as Bloody Master back in my realm. Since my greatness hasn't spread from world to world, I suppose giving my human name might be more beneficial.

[Even if he sorta wants everyone to refer to him as his true name, but alas, it's going to take warming up for non-servants to call him Master.]

Eva. Eva Armstrong. That is my name among humans.
