[ Any and all who are in the marketplace will find that there is suddenly a mysterious barrier around the marketplace (that may be eerily familiar to some) -- specifically one large portion of the marketplace with a large number of tables and chairs, perhaps purposefully set out for nefarious reasons.

A few Palai are ushering coven members to chairs, and everything seems about normal. As normal as the Palai can be when they're putting on a show anyway. It's not until a sizable portion of the coven members are seated (and also supplied with breadsticks and small shrimp), that things get a bit more bizarre.

Thanks to the power of the Eltos, a small band of energy keeps coven members stuck to the chair (magic can interfere, of course), but that's not the end of it. On each table, next to those delicious smelling breadsticks and shrimp, is a bowl of scraps of papers. Every five minutes, a strip of paper will pop out from the bowl.

If you ask the Palai, they'll be inclined to explain speed dating to you. Asking questions, getting to know a person, then being shimmied off to the next potential mate -- this is made possible by Elto magic yet again, through flying chairs that transport their holder to a new table at standard intervals.

The Palai are extremely invested in this exercise? Will you let them down? ]

[ OOC: In the spirit of speed dating, each character will have a top level. All who want to respond to this top level can with questions from this post, but the threads have to end at 10 comments from each character. After this last tag, the characters can be assumed to have been whisked to a different potential match. You're free to have characters make up their own questions, interact with Palai serving food, etc. ]

[Haru might look a little more stressed out than normal. She can imagine Ann doesn't want to be here just as much as she doesn't want to be here.

[ Haru is probably the sweetest thing since pound cake, so it especially sticks out to Ann when the other girl is a little... upset. She shoots Haru a look of sympathy as she tears her breadstick into pieces and stuffs one in her mouth. ]

Mm, tell me about it. This must be pretty, uh... you've probably gone on enough unwanted dates to last you a lifetime, huh?

[ God, just thinking about Haru's crappy ex-fiance is enough to make Ann grimace and tear into her next breadstick chunk especially hard. She really hated that guy. ]

I'm sure I have racked up quite a number of them.

[She frowns a little, thinking of her ex-fiancee is really terrible. She didn't hold anything against him anymore but...mm, it brings up a lot of unwanted memories.]

You too, Ann-chan. So why don't we make the best of this and treat this as a ladies date. We can talk until they're satisfied.

[ That brings a smile to her face, and she looks even more relieved. ]

Yeah, that sounds good. [ You're the best, Haru!! ] Hey, should we try one of the papers?

[ I mean, they are right there... they might as well. Ann would pick one out but she's currently demolishing this breadstick, so it's probably up to Haru. ]

I don't see the harm in us having a little fun with this.

[She she reaches towards one of the papers, unfolds it, and gives it a thoughtful look.]

What is the first feature you notice about your date?

[ She blinks at the question, her mouth still full. ]

My date as in just somebody I like, or as in you?

[ But she almost immediately answers her own question with a shrug. She's going with the latter, since she does what she wants! ]

I guess the first thing I noticed about you was your super stylish thief outfit. [ It's cool and cute without being revealing. She's jealous! ]

I guess I would have said either one.

[Though she might laugh a little.]

Part of me is really glad you didn't notice the ridiculous name Morgana and I came up with. Though, I think your thief outfit is just as stylish!

Oh, I... definitely noticed.

[ In retrospect, she supposes Beauty Thief is kind of charming in its terribleness... Morgana was Trying His Best. At the time, though, it just added another layer to the overall bafflement of the situation. ]

You really think so? But it's so... [ Zippery? Latexy? Dominatrixy? ] It's kind of embarrassing, right?

That was what I feared. Morgana had the best intentions, I'm sure...

[Sigh. Beauty thief. Never again. Noir was a lot more classy that was for damn sure.]

[ Coming from almost anyone else, Ann might've doubted their sincerity and/or motivations. But since this is Haru, she can only take it as a genuine compliment. ]

Hmm, you know. That isn't something I would normally think about. But since we're here now... I think the first thing I would notice is the way they hold themselves.
