[ Any and all who are in the marketplace will find that there is suddenly a mysterious barrier around the marketplace (that may be eerily familiar to some) -- specifically one large portion of the marketplace with a large number of tables and chairs, perhaps purposefully set out for nefarious reasons.

A few Palai are ushering coven members to chairs, and everything seems about normal. As normal as the Palai can be when they're putting on a show anyway. It's not until a sizable portion of the coven members are seated (and also supplied with breadsticks and small shrimp), that things get a bit more bizarre.

Thanks to the power of the Eltos, a small band of energy keeps coven members stuck to the chair (magic can interfere, of course), but that's not the end of it. On each table, next to those delicious smelling breadsticks and shrimp, is a bowl of scraps of papers. Every five minutes, a strip of paper will pop out from the bowl.

If you ask the Palai, they'll be inclined to explain speed dating to you. Asking questions, getting to know a person, then being shimmied off to the next potential mate -- this is made possible by Elto magic yet again, through flying chairs that transport their holder to a new table at standard intervals.

The Palai are extremely invested in this exercise? Will you let them down? ]

[ OOC: In the spirit of speed dating, each character will have a top level. All who want to respond to this top level can with questions from this post, but the threads have to end at 10 comments from each character. After this last tag, the characters can be assumed to have been whisked to a different potential match. You're free to have characters make up their own questions, interact with Palai serving food, etc. ]

[ The first thing Kosuzu did upon being sucked into a chair was flag down a passing Palai and try to figure out what the heck "speed dating" is. The first part of the explanation sounded like a kind of fun game, but then the words "Potential Mate" showed up, and she realized she was absolutely out of her depth.

Oh no, here comes another person. ]

Hi, sorry! It's nice to meet you, and I don't mind answering questions, but all this "potential mate" stuff is a bit much, so...

[drizzle]

...I didn't really had the intention to find one here any way...

[All said in a low tone of voice once her chair had landed at the table before her. Nike will remain silent for a moment as she tries to figure out the best way to spend the next ten minutes.]

It's nice to meet you too. I'm Nike.

[Her gaze will slowly turn to the other girl with an inquisitive tilt of her head.]

...have we met before? You sound kinda familiar.

Now that you mention it, you sound familiar, too... [Kosuzu sifts through her recent memories. Where has she heard that voice?]

You don't look familiar, though... maybe we had a conversation using telepathy?

[drizzle]

[The more she listen to her voice, the more familiar it felt, and yet she couldn’t place a name onto her face until she hit a vital clue.]

I think we may had! Your voice really does sound familiar.

[An idea will come to mind.]

Then you are her. Kosuzu, right? I recognized your voice, but I had to be absolutely certain I wasn’t wrong.

[It was difficult to not smile happily at the chance in meeting one of the voices she has spoken to before. Just like she couldn’t help feeling better, she couldn’t help observe the other girl, realizing that.]

You’re so cute! I always thought you would be, but now I know you are. How have you been after our last talk? [More like, she wants to know if she was safe before, during, and after the battle with the Uvi.]

It's been... weird? I had some kind of prophetic dream back at that party. I guess that's what my new ability is, but it was really confusing at the time.

[drizzle]

Was it?

[It was interesting to be able to talk about abilities the way they were. She already knew the other girl can read any language she sets her gaze to, but now they were talking about the powers they were given.

In this case, Nike can understand her confusion since she has had prophetic dreams of important moments of her rain partner's lives without knowing the circumstances surrounding it. She can't help herself from wanting to know more.]

What was it like? Having dreams about the future? Which I'm assuming are about the future than past...?

It sounds like it would be exciting, but it really wasn't. I just spent the next ten minutes of the party already knowing what was going to happen. It was a little scary, but I think that was mostly because I was drunk at the time.

[drizzle]

D-Drunk!? What do you mean by that!?

[That detail will catch her attention before she even had the chance to comfort her regarding her new powers. She didn't like the idea of the other girl feeling afraid of her own power.]

[decipheringeye]

It was a party, right? It's only natural to drink at a party.

[drizzle]

Not alcohol and not at your age! You’re way too young for that!

[What is with kids trying to drink before the age of fifteen?? Can’t they wait another four years to?]

No wonder your new powers startle you. I bet the liquor increased its potency! How far ahead were you able to see during those ten minutes?

[Wait what.]

Wait, what does my age have to do with alcohol? Drinking is really easy, anyone can do it!

[drizzle]

It has everything to do with it! Alcohol isn’t something kids should be drinking. It’s an adult’s only drink for a reason! You are simply not ready for it.

[Actually, now that she’s on the topic of it.]

None of us should be drinking until we get used to our new powers! It clearly affected you! What would have happened if you had more destructive abilities? Like creating fire? You could've gotten hurt!

I think it was the sweets, actually. I had barely started drinking when I fell asleep.

[drizzle]

The sweets?

[She’ll remember back to the events of the party]

Oh! Do you mean the pieces of candy? I remember seeing those! They looked kinda odd. I didn’t have any due to it.

[A lot of odd stuff happened when everyone had a piece.]

Thank goodness that it wasn’t the alcohol’s fault. But, still, maybe you shouldn’t have any. This world has edible items that have odd side effects to them after ingesting them.

I haven't seen it per say, but someone did mention it to me. You see...

[Just as she was going to repeat the side effects a certain friend went through after trying a certain drink, her chair will begin to levitate off the ground which will startle her. Her eyes will land on the Palai that points out their ten minutes was up.]

H-Huh!? Are you kidding? Just when I was going to warn her of... [And it clicks.] This is all too convenient timing. You're doing this purposely aren't you!?

[She'll begin to move around on her chair to attempt to disturb the magic, but all it'll do is lift her higher than much else. As she is being escorted away, Nike will yell.]

Isn't this proof enough!? They're trying to keep you from knowing the truth! Be careful out there and just avoid their liquor!

[SAFE. She waves cheerfully as Nike flies off.]

It was nice to meet you in person!
