[WORLD ONE | UVI ATTACK]

Open/Closed: Open to All

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 32 & 33
Open/Closed: Open to All

For coven members who haven't been in Aimintas very long, the panic of the Palai the past few days may seem like overkill. The day goes by rather quietly and Aimintas looks like a ghost town throughout the morning and most of the afternoon. Not one Palai can be seen, with shops closed and the roads virtually empty, aside from coven members. It isn't until the sky is turning a nice shade of pink that things begin. Observant people who may be gazing up at the ocean will see the very small dots in the sky that begin to approach at a very quick speed. If you're outside, you may get to see the Uvi up close -- but perhaps not for very long. The Uvi have rubbery bones, and they hit the dirt in a curled up position, unrolling themselves and leaping up on long, scaled legs. The shortest Uvi might come in at five feet tall, but most range from six to seven. They're lithe and gilled -- you may think they want to rely on stealth, but the sound coming out of their gills is very loud and raspy. There's no way you can't hear them coming as the ominous and rapid noise follows them everywhere. Some of them are walking around empty handed, eyes scanning and striding up to buildings, banging on the outside and observing the inside of the house as much as they possibly can. Others are carrying large, bleached tools made of fish bone and teeth. Some look like long blades, while others look like long axes. These are used for cutting into doors and other violent tasks they feel the need to complete.
If your character confronts the Uvi, they better be prepared for an attack. B ▢ Alternatively, maybe your character is caught outside and ill-equipped to handle the Uvi. Running is an option! ...But they better be able to run fast. Maybe your character gets lucky enough to run into someone who can help them, but they'd best hope they find each other fast. C ▢ Your character may also be committed to love and justice, fighting the forces of evil with good. It's very unlikely that Palai blood goes unspilled tonight, but your character may be able to prevent it as much as possible. Just be warned: if they confront the Uvi who are trying to break into a Palai house, they're going to be in for a fight. D ▢ Other characters may already be hiding, whether in the coven house or with Palai in their own homes. They'll hear the Uvi's harsh, gasping breathing before they see them, but if they do hear that raspy noise, they'd better be quick thinkers. Whether the Uvi visiting turns into a brawl or a blood bath, eventually the Uvi will return to the ocean with Palai bodies in tow. At around 4 AM, the Uvi begin to shriek, some making noises that are too high pitched for most ears to hear. From the sky, large flying fish descend from the sky and find their masters. The Palai are hoisted onto the back of these creatures and they take off, flying back into the ocean.
F ▢ Maybe your character is more into the idea of following the Uvi back home. It's possible! Once the Uvi breach the ocean, they swim fast through the dark water for miles and miles. The journey is treacherous, and some may stop the trek to attack in the water where they're more at home. If your character makes it to their lair, they'll find that it's a dense wad of seaweed that stays static in the ocean. The Uvi are used to the toxicity of the leaves, but trying to enter means touching these leaves that leave large, skin-melting welts as they grow and burst. G ▢ Wildcard! How will your character handle this violent and volatile situation. |

[HE'S NOT DEALING WITH THIS but also, he sees nothing rare or special about himself so,]
no subject
Hmm, then I guess I'm just gonna have to help you see it!
[ take it from someone who's never heard a kind word in her life: it's rare. and it's special. and even if she's discovered that it drives robin crazy, there's sincerity underlying every word.
then, she moves forward, as though to draw robin into a hug (don't fight it, robin) ]

[He doesn't do much in the way of hugging her back. Things like carrying people, grabbing and holding them close to fit them under his cloak, surreptitious rendezvouses, those he can handle. More meaningful contact with other people is awkward.]
no subject
which is good because eliza's going to grab his shoulder instead and catapult herself over him, catching an uvi through the shoulder with her blade. ]
You need to pay more attention, Archer! ♥
no subject
[Is it a pantyshot if she's not wearing anything over the bottom of her armor?]
See, this is why people don't compliment you! You've got to make everything theatrical instead of just doing things practically!
[Gee, Robin, that sounds more like a personal pet peeve of yours rather than a widely-held opinion.
In between his arguing, he manages to fire a bolt at the Uvi through the other shoulder. He'd wanted the head, but that's what happens when he gets thrown off.]
no subject
What's wrong with looking good while I do stuff??
[ but the uvi is off-balance and wounded, and lizzie knows better than to let this opportunity pass her by. so she's going to dart forward and sweep her tail across the uvi's back, sending it towards robin. ]
Archer, now!
[ if he wants the head, he can take it. lizzie's trying to cut down on the number of creatures she's killing— i mean. ]
no subject
[Because for her, it probably is, but it's a huge pain in the ass for Mr. Always Prepared to not be prepared.
With a little more time to aim, this time the bolt strikes the Uvi, sinking into an eye as the creature falls forward.
It doesn't get back up.]
no subject
... But it is!
[ the plan she's making up as she goes along, that is. ]
no subject
[This is so frustrating...but it's working, so he can't really complain about the results.]

[Her dress is the dress of a crazy person.]

[LET HIM LIVE. THIS IS WHY HE WORKS ALONE!!!]
no subject
[ oh my god ]
Don't you remember the demon pillars?! Those were worse!
no subject
[It isn't his first battle. She's right.
But Robin's specialty is killing his opponent before the battle can even start.]
no subject
well
everything. ]
... We didn't exactly have time ...
no subject
[He says, after a quick glance behind him.]
I'm not gonna go in bows blazing on these, you know, and I don't want to hit you, so we have to come up with some sort of plan to keep this simple.
[Of course, Robin's solution is to trap them, like always.]
no subject
How many can you trap?
no subject
[Sabotage A is a beautiful thing, though it only applies to battle preparations. Once he's actually in a fight things get dicier.]
no subject
Mm! Then bottleneck 'em somewhere away from the buildings. I'll use my Noble Phantasm to put them out of their misery.
no subject
[He's pretty sure she already knows, but he can't help but fuss about things like this. If the plan is going to go off without a hitch, both of them need to be intact.
He wraps himself up in his cloak, vanishing; the only indication that Robin's still there at all is the trail of footprints that appear as he heads toward the nearest building, nimbly climbing it.
A few minutes later, there's a loud sound several hundred feet away that alerts the Uvi to...something.]
