[WORLD TWO | SIGNET MELTDOWN MINGLE]
Who: Anyone!
Where: Everywhere
When: Day 197-200
Open/Closed: OTA
[ If you've never experienced that ear-splitting, spine-tingling, bone-crushing headache that comes with Qri doing...something...then you're in for a treat. It lasts for about an hour on the first day, though usually it fades after a while and things go back to normal.
This time, you aren't so lucky. As soon as the headache passes, you notice there's a certain something missing within you. You may not notice it immediately, but the next time you hear someone talk their words might be equivalent to gibberish. When you go to ask someone what's going on with your telepathy, you find that your words just circle your own brain, no one answering because the message simply can't be received.
This...may be a problem. Hopefully you know how to play charades. ]

Hello!
[in "Alternian" that sounds oddly like English, or, if that gets a blank face, she'll simply hold out a stick of chalk and point out a bare patch of floor. Maybe you can try Pictionary?]
no subject
she's not sure. her mouth opens for a moment then her tongue sticks out in thought and then she hears terezi's voice and.
hm.
she's a little surprised. ]
Salutations?
[ she thinks! ] No charades??
no subject
[She states this like it is perfectly obvious fact, and not groundbreaking in any way.]
no subject
It's called English, Terezi! Or well, I thought it was... This is pretty interesting.
no subject
[Again, like this is a totally unremarkable and indisputable fact. She considers Jade for a moment before her expression breaks into a mischievous smile.]
He is being tried for embezzlement. They will probably find him guilty.
no subject
They are not sure yet, if it's only "probably"! What's his defense?
no subject
[She taps her chalk against her chin thoughtfully, though.]
Sometimes they try to pin their crimes on a lowblood underling. This works more often than you would expect.

Hello!
[that's about as good as it's going to get, though, sadly. Madoka crouches down to have a look at Terezi's artwork — uh. what the heck is going on here.]
no subject
It is a public trial and execution. He has embezzled some funds.
[Yeah, good luck translating that.]
no subject
Embezzled?
no subject
[There's an amused smile playing around her face.]
no subject
Oh! Okay.
[she reaches for a piece of chalk, then, because she has something important she wants to convey! um. how does one ask for permission to borrow a piece of chalk in English.]
Can I ...? [that's as far as she gets.]
no subject
Either your Alternian is not very good, or you are very shy.
[But she holds out a piece of chalk for Madoka to take! Go ahead.]

[The "Hello" is in English. The rest? She is still learning to phrase things correctly in English. So the rest of what she says is in Japanese. Sorry??]
no subject
You are speaking a strange human language, too. Would you like chalk?
[She holds out a stick of green chalk, helpfully.]
no subject
Did you...do that?
[IN ENGLISH THIS TIME. Raising a brow at the chalk.]
Me?
no subject
[She seems very pleased with herself.]
You can draw, too, if your Alternian is not good.
no subject
Dia will sit down and start drawing!! Public executions aren't nice. So she's probably drawing a nicer and much more tame picture.]
no subject
Is that a hoofbeast?
[She is asking this regardless of whether what she's pointing to actually in any way resembles a hoofbeast.]

[She grins, though; she's happy to see Karkat.]
I presume you have noticed the language changes by now.
no subject
[ although they can't understand... every human? which is interesting. ]
no subject
[She shrugs.]
They seem to have multiple languages, one of which is Alternian.
no subject
