[HUB ISLAND | NOVEMBER IC INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members and old blood
Where: In and around the hub island, especially the mansion
When: Day 122
Open/Closed: Open to All
IMPORTANT This IC intro log is different in that all characters can tag it! If your character is new, please put [new] or some variant of it in the subject of your top level. New characters can also tag around to old coven members in order to branch out and get as much CR as possible!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repercussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.
Where: In and around the hub island, especially the mansion
When: Day 122
Open/Closed: Open to All
This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will eventually pass by to give you a rundown. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What is at first painfully obvious is that you're ill-equipped. Any magic or powers you had previously are suddenly replaced with an empty hole in your being. That's not all that's gone, but perhaps that's what's most pressing. Another thing you may notice is that there are others just like you, wandering around and just as confused. If you feel so inclined, you may want to ask around and see if anyone else knows what's up.
B ▢ For those characters who aren't interested in the shelter of the mansion, they may be stuck in their beach huts. What does this have to do with newbies? It's hard to tell that these beach huts are occupied until actually entering them, which is what your character has decided to do. Oops...hi there, stranger. Mind if I stay for a while? C ▢ Other characters who happen to have the luck of a true asshole won't be able to find shelter with any such luck. They'll be stuck sheieding themselves from rain under a tree, in the forest or tucking themselves in a mountain cave. It's not the worst place to wind up, but it might not be the safest -- what happens if someone doesn't find them? Telepathy might alert someone to their presence, which can help with the rescue process. |
For those that are lucky enough to spawn in the mansion -- or those who eventually find their way there, soaking wet -- there's a lot of fun stuff happening here! It's warm, inviting, smells like food...don't feel awkward. You can join the fun too! Brie has set up a few party ideas, even though it's not technically a party, in order to keep things light during the storm (which, coincidentally, she isn't very fond of). There's a lot to do, but also everyone has the ability to just chill and hang out in the warm shelter of the mansion for now.
E ▢ The large foyer of the mansion is literally filled with pillows and blankets. Most of them have been stockpiled and pulled from Qri's big caravan, currently located upstairs, and others have been pulled from every chair and bed in the mansion. Intricate tents and pillow domes have been made that snake in and out from one another -- some are more private than others, with other pillow circles built for communal spaces. It's definitely possible to get lost in this winding pillow fort, but it's also possible to have a nice, private moment lost in one of the winding tunnels. F ▢ In one of those foretold communal pillow circles, someone (who? you? me? who knows.) has set up a game of spin the bottle. Who knows how your character got roped into this -- or if they are actually willing participants, but this is happening. It's going to happen. What are you doing, oh my god HOW IS THIS BIZARRE ROM-COM SCENARIO GOING TO END...?? F1; Your character is doing the spinning, and another character is choosing to be the victim on the other end of that bottle! F2; Your character happens to have just had the bottle land on them. Who did it? What mysterious being do they have to smooch now? How do they react? G ▢ Another game is going on in another communal circle -- Truth or Dare! This game is also set up similarly, in that your character is a hapless victim or willing participant, but they definitely have to give someone the opportunity to confess something or dare them to do something ridiculous. Will they show mercy, or go in for the kill? H ▢ Slumber party activities aren't for everyone, and there's still a mansion to explore. From various bedrooms to a game room, there are a variety of rooms to wind up exploring and get lost in. Not exciting enough for you? Your character has magic! Maybe they cause a ruckus upstairs that makes someone investigate the loud noise or chaos. Maybe they walk in on someone else doing something with their own magic. What sort of scenario can you cook up? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

[He's still not sure exactly where the smoke will originate from, but heading toward the more heavily-flooded area is a good place to start. Once he gets there, sure enough, he spots the trail of smoke and follows it.
It takes him a few minutes to get there, seeing as he has to wade through the water, and sometimes the smoke is so thin it takes a little more effort to see it. But eventually, he follows it straight to Waver, soaked to the bone by the time he arrives.]
Hey, kiddo. You ever jumped off a building before?
[For Robin, that kind of acrobatic stunt is easy, but Waver looks...considerably less able. More of a bookish type.]
no subject
Do I look like I have?
[Damnit. Too smartassed.]
...No. Not at all.
no subject
[Though Waver looks like he might actually die if he messes it up. He looks exhausted. Robin utilizes some nearby floating debris to climb onto the roof - a lot less gracefully than normal, but it's to be expected, given the inclement weather, but competently enough to manage to avoid hurting himself.]
We're gonna try climbing down first, but if that doesn't work I'll just carry you down.
[His strength parameters, while never great in the first place, are seriously reduced on a world that doesn't allow powers, but he's still in good enough shape to carry one bookworm over his shoulder.]
no subject
Almost feels like it'd be easier to jump, so long as there was a piece of debris to hang onto.
[Being carried around by servants is second nature at this point, but Waver's not inclined to admit that yet.]
What footholds would be best for getting down?
no subject
With buildings as shoddy as these, they're probably all about the same. If the door's come off a hinge, that might hold your weight long enough for you to get down into the water...kind of like a ramp. Otherwise, with conditions as bad as these, pretty much anything is good. The alternative is playing it too safe and staying up here, so...
[Normally there isn't such a thing as playing it too safe for Robin, but staying on the roof provides a 0% chance of finding shelter, whereas at least attempting to leave makes it a number above that.]
...Here, this looks like a good place to start.
[He points to a section of the hut that's had the tiles of the roof damaged, leaving a conveniently foot-sized depression in the wall.]
no subject
The door was holding steadfast when I was in there, so it'd require a lot more force to get it off the hinges. I got out via window on that side. [Waver pointed to the window in question.] It wasn't that windy yet, which was how I was able to haul myself up.
[That and sheer willpower. Waver does look over to the section of damaged roof, and while he isn't inclined to put his weight onto the area yet, there's something else.]
There's a plank of the wall proper that's come loose, it looks like.
[He pointed to where the roof met the siding, and a single plank that was beginning to pull away. He hated the idea of damaging his place, but survival was more important.]
The correct angle would pry it free.
no subject
[Robin takes a few careful steps over toward the plank, giving it another look.]
I think it's gonna take both of us to get it out, since there's so much water. C'mere and give me a hand.
no subject
hhhholy crackers the notif for this tag never showed up in my inbox
It's fine. We can't expect everyone to be muscleheads.
[Even some of the other Archers are buffer than Robin, so he can commiserate a little...but he's not about to admit that out loud, either.]
Right over there should be good. I'll come with you if you're really concerned about having enough weight.
[He motions for Waver to follow him as he carefully walks across the roof. Occasionally he'll test the stability of a plank before stepping on it, but the hut is in generally good shape, so nothing too disastrous happens.]
...If this doesn't work, your dignity's on the line, kid. Do your best.
[No pressure or anything.]
Don't worry it happens sometimes!
What dignity?
[The lost that a long, long time ago. That is also a discussion for another day, and finally, Waver's pretty sure he can pull this off.
Or at least, he suspects Robin isn't going to make fun of him too hard for failure. That's enough for him.]
--Okay, so. Count of three?
no subject
[We're all irredeemable here, apparently.
After Waver takes his position, Robin nods in determination.]
One...two...
[The roof creaks a bit as he shifts his weight slightly.]
...Three!
[And then he shifts it again, to put all of it on the weak spot Waver found.]
no subject
A little amused noise escapes from his throat, and he pauses just long enough to move some of the wet strands of hair from his face.]
Huh. And here I thought someone was going to fall. [Probably him.]
no subject
[Hakuno's Servant is a really good person.]
no subject
no subject
[Waver did a good job, so true to his word, Robin doesn't even so much as try to push him.]
...Well, it looks like we should be able to get down fine now. I'll go first so I can help you down.
[There are a lot of things that Robin doesn't take seriously, but helping people isn't one of them.]
no subject
Okay. Er, if there's anything I can do if you start to loose balance or something, tell me.
no subject
[Robin takes a moment to solidify his stance before carefully climbing down, taking extra care that his cloak doesn't get caught on any part of the building. It's really just getting in the way at this point...but it's a little late to take it off, so he just kind of swings it over his shoulder like a soaked, heavy scarf. The rest of him is already drenched anyway.
As though to punish his confidence in his agility, he stumbles on the way down, but barely avoids falling outright. Pretending he's not embarrassed in the slightest, once he's climbed down he turns toward Waver, beckoning him down.]
Your turn, kid. Careful.
[He says, as though he didn't nearly just faceplant.]
no subject
I know.
[There's no confidence in Waver's movements at first. He moves down almost too slowly, until his feet have some kind of confidence. It's longer than he'd like, but he does finally manage it, until his sleeve gets caught on a nail that's sticking out.]
Shit.
[He tugs it quickly, damn the hole that'll be made in his sweater. And there is one, which gets a groan. Thankfully, Waver refuses to linger, and he's down as well after a few more moments.]
no subject
[He's not too great at sewing himself, pretty much only having the basic knowledge necessary to patch a hole in, say, a cloak, but it doesn't really look good when he tries.
Maybe...if he found Emiya...ugh, but he hates that guy.]
no subject
[Either way, Waver's down, and that's the point of the whole thing.]
Which way do we go?
no subject
[It's a little more difficult to navigate without Waver's smoke providing a trail, but some of the debris and misshapen huts are distinctive enough for Robin to trace his proverbial footsteps.]
Jeez. I've never seen weather like this in my life.
no subject
Yeah, me either. How the hell are we even getting a storm like this when there's no clear source for it?
no subject
[It's completely fair and valid for a Servant to just wave their hands and say magic did it, okay.]
At least we're on land...barely.
[With how high the flooding is he's not sure if it counts anymore...]
no subject
[Sorry, Robin. He likes to think about that kind of nerdy, nerdy crap.]
Ugh. How much further from where everyone else is?
