[HUB ISLAND | NOVEMBER IC INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members and old blood
Where: In and around the hub island, especially the mansion
When: Day 122
Open/Closed: Open to All
IMPORTANT This IC intro log is different in that all characters can tag it! If your character is new, please put [new] or some variant of it in the subject of your top level. New characters can also tag around to old coven members in order to branch out and get as much CR as possible!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repercussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.
Where: In and around the hub island, especially the mansion
When: Day 122
Open/Closed: Open to All
This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will eventually pass by to give you a rundown. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What is at first painfully obvious is that you're ill-equipped. Any magic or powers you had previously are suddenly replaced with an empty hole in your being. That's not all that's gone, but perhaps that's what's most pressing. Another thing you may notice is that there are others just like you, wandering around and just as confused. If you feel so inclined, you may want to ask around and see if anyone else knows what's up.
B ▢ For those characters who aren't interested in the shelter of the mansion, they may be stuck in their beach huts. What does this have to do with newbies? It's hard to tell that these beach huts are occupied until actually entering them, which is what your character has decided to do. Oops...hi there, stranger. Mind if I stay for a while? C ▢ Other characters who happen to have the luck of a true asshole won't be able to find shelter with any such luck. They'll be stuck sheieding themselves from rain under a tree, in the forest or tucking themselves in a mountain cave. It's not the worst place to wind up, but it might not be the safest -- what happens if someone doesn't find them? Telepathy might alert someone to their presence, which can help with the rescue process. |
For those that are lucky enough to spawn in the mansion -- or those who eventually find their way there, soaking wet -- there's a lot of fun stuff happening here! It's warm, inviting, smells like food...don't feel awkward. You can join the fun too! Brie has set up a few party ideas, even though it's not technically a party, in order to keep things light during the storm (which, coincidentally, she isn't very fond of). There's a lot to do, but also everyone has the ability to just chill and hang out in the warm shelter of the mansion for now.
E ▢ The large foyer of the mansion is literally filled with pillows and blankets. Most of them have been stockpiled and pulled from Qri's big caravan, currently located upstairs, and others have been pulled from every chair and bed in the mansion. Intricate tents and pillow domes have been made that snake in and out from one another -- some are more private than others, with other pillow circles built for communal spaces. It's definitely possible to get lost in this winding pillow fort, but it's also possible to have a nice, private moment lost in one of the winding tunnels. F ▢ In one of those foretold communal pillow circles, someone (who? you? me? who knows.) has set up a game of spin the bottle. Who knows how your character got roped into this -- or if they are actually willing participants, but this is happening. It's going to happen. What are you doing, oh my god HOW IS THIS BIZARRE ROM-COM SCENARIO GOING TO END...?? F1; Your character is doing the spinning, and another character is choosing to be the victim on the other end of that bottle! F2; Your character happens to have just had the bottle land on them. Who did it? What mysterious being do they have to smooch now? How do they react? G ▢ Another game is going on in another communal circle -- Truth or Dare! This game is also set up similarly, in that your character is a hapless victim or willing participant, but they definitely have to give someone the opportunity to confess something or dare them to do something ridiculous. Will they show mercy, or go in for the kill? H ▢ Slumber party activities aren't for everyone, and there's still a mansion to explore. From various bedrooms to a game room, there are a variety of rooms to wind up exploring and get lost in. Not exciting enough for you? Your character has magic! Maybe they cause a ruckus upstairs that makes someone investigate the loud noise or chaos. Maybe they walk in on someone else doing something with their own magic. What sort of scenario can you cook up? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

[ the thought of being in amestris and suddenly being brought here and having something taken from him, quite honestly, makes his skin crawl. but that's something to discuss with riza, later, once they're out of danger, and roy sighs before taking a few steps forward, toward the door of the hut, to glance through the rain. their best bet would be to make it to the mansion, but roy isn't looking forward to the hike.
he pauses, though, at her next questions and comments, looking over at her, brow furrowing. riza, being granted some type of power -- ? ] What did they tell you?
[ he ignores the question about the 'have you tried to see if it's true,' because roy had, indeed, tried, and it had failed, which obviously means that they're lying.
or that he isn't calm, which is the more likely scenario, but he doesn't know that yet.]no subject
but they had left her with her weapons. and had taken...a watch? ]
What was the last thing your recall from home? [ because that's the best place to start, isn't it?
but then roy is looking at her with furrowed brows. concerned. she shakes her head, making it evident she doesn't believe them despite their words. ] Something about heightening other's abilities. I haven't been able to try its validity.
no subject
Fitting. [ mildly enough, taking the moment to remove his gloves -- they're useless, anyway, and are just making his hands feel cold and clammy. ] And the last thing I remember is Ishval. We had just arrived and we were divvying up supplies to our unit for the reconstruction effort.
[ and, in a far less serious and grave tone: ]
Specifically, I forgot to sign something, and you asked me how I had been promoted in the first place.
no subject
Apparently. [ honestly, she wouldn't mind it. so much of what she does is support, anyway, and at the idea of being able to heighten roy's alchemy had been the first thought that came to mind, and it kind of excited her.
but also- she doesn't trust it. she doesn't know if she wants to use something forced on her that she doesn't understand the working order of. it seems too suspicious, to her, and she'd rather find out more about it before attempting...anything.
and she hopes that roy feels the same. looking at you, sir.
riza nods at his recollection, though, as it lines up almost exactly with her's. as in, exactly aligned. ] That's what I remember last as well. [ then she looks at him, tired and with her mouth in a familiar, unamused line. ] And you told me it had been your devilish good looks and winning personality.

[ in the most deadpan of tones, though there's a tiny amount of relief at the knowledge that her memory is as sound as his. good. that's good. and he rolls up his gloves to squeeze them, huffing a soft sigh to himself as water drips out of them. the transmutation circle useless, and not activating, to simply evaporate the water out of the cloth.
how frustrating. ]
If both of us were taken at the same moment from Ishval, then why were we separated here? [ the obvious answer: split up the team, because alone, roy and riza are far less powerful. he doesn't bother saying it out loud -- he knows riza will come up with it on her own. ] And why us, and not anyone else from the team? [ a second obvious answer: roy and riza are the functioning leaders of their team, and if it's something to do with amestris, removing them from the country would have devastating effects on ishval. ] And . . .
[ roy pauses before placing his gloves inside his pocket, something occurring to him: ]
You haven't seen anyone from the squadron -- have you seen the Elrics?
no subject
It may have something to do with how we were brought here. But with no memory of that, I wouldn't know where to start. [ because it's the most honest answer she can give him in this moment. but she has her reasons, her ideas. not that it matters now that they've found each other, but the point does still stand. from a tactical viewpoint, separate the victims and they will be easier to handle. now? ]
It's possible we haven't found them yet. [ because it is. it took her time to find roy, and this storm would only make it more difficult.
but then roy pauses, and thinks, and riza's mouth pulls into a frown. ] I have not. Do you think they would be here?
no subject
I hope not.
[ . . . but if people are yanking people of relatively importance from their universe into another world, the elrics would probably be at the top of the list, if only because of what they've managed to accomplish in such a small period of time. ]
But if anyone would get themselves into a mess of trouble of this magnitude, it would be Edward and Alphonse Elric.
[ unfortunately. ]
At any rate, we should head toward the mansion, and bring people we find along the way. There has to be someone in charge of this disaster that we can keep track of.

riza sighs briefly at the though, reaching up to tuck some of her wet hair behind her ear. ]
I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for them, then. They shouldn't be far- this rain is keeping everyone fairly centralized.
[ she looks over her shoulder, back out into the direction she came. at roy's suggestion, she nods. ] I know the general direction, I've been directing anyone I find that way. The bridge I set up should still be there.
