[A | Flower Gleam and Glow]
[The nearby moon is still passing close to the hub island, meaning the effects are still in play. Perhaps now is the time to stop and smell the large lit up sparkling moonflowers that have bloomed? Or be annoyed by the mosquito-like insects that came with them.

Alternatively, the deer seem to draw some sort of energy from the moon's light. Given their size, at least their sudden aggression and proximity to the base camp isn't the worst thing in the world but a kick would still break a rib or other bone so be careful! Possibly help each other deal with these cute but troublesome fauna.]

[B | Eavesdropping]
[For some reason, the telepathy will suddenly get rather wonky. Characters won't know why it's happening, though of course no doubt there will be ponderings, but it means characters won't be in control of their ability to broadcast — or more specifically, not broadcast — their thoughts. Time to find out secrets of an embarrassing nature. Or maybe something sadder is going on in your character's head.

If this wasn't bad enough, the area around the signet might experience burning or tingling. Just try to keep a lid on your brain for the day and distract yourself from any annoying pain.]

[C | Talking In Your Sleep]
[Or maybe your character just doesn't have the most interesting thoughts. Maybe they're busy thinking about pie instead of their upsetting childhood. That's fair. Pie is great.

But surely sometimes it haunts their dreams. With the telepathy running amuck, it's no wonder dreams and nightmares are leaking through, too. Of course, it doesn't have to be an accident. Feel free to grab a friend and share a fanciful dreamscape together on purpose! But for those nuts that are tougher to crack, accidents can and will happen.]

[D | Who You Gonna Call]
[Last but not least, as Friday rolls around, there seems to be something odd going on with the island. If your character is inclined towards the spiritual or supernatural, they'll no doubt notice the strange heavy thickness hanging around. There are whispers in the air and all of new energy just feels solemn. Might be good to give people a heads up and keep an eye on it.]

Yeah, um.

[Geir extends the swaddled bundle to Sorey, offering it, claws held very still to try to keep the baby safe.]

...I guess he was here to guard this...? I don't know why someone put a baby in a box. Well, it wasn't a baby at first, but...

[a Mysterious Symbolic Baby means just enough to even a dream version of Sorey that he can't help but look stricken before taking the baby and checking it for. injuries or potentially burn marks.]

What was it at first?

An egg.

[Geir peers at Sorey.]

Why are you upset?

[the baby is ok just hard to identify in the face]

[well at least it's not a dead baby, that would be awkward and traumatizing]

It's kind of hard to explain. But...something bad happened to Mikleo as a baby, so I thought this might have something to do with that.

[Geir tilts his head a little further... he doesn't know what to say to that. is there anything?]

Oh... I'm sorry.

Is there something we can do?

[rocking the baby to help it stay asleep and not cry...hopefully the dragon stays asleep when he's not petting him]

I honestly don't know; I don't know anything about this area. But I don't think we should leave either of them in here. Outside isn't a whole lot better, but this is...worse.

I can probably break the chains. Do you think he'll be okay? I really don't want to fight him now.

[the other dragon needs a break. that's the conclusion that Geir has come to.]

He'll be okay now that he's calmed down. If he gets out of hand I'll talk him down.

[Geir probably shouldn't be listening to Sorey's overly-trusting nature but, IT'S (PROBABLY) FINE!]

[Geir inclines his head with no more than a shrug of his wings. he still doesn't feel any worry about what'll happen if he actually needs to fight Mikleo, he'd just prefer to Not.

what do the chains look like? any convenient points for him to bite? if so, he's going to try to do just that -- if his fascination works here in this dream, perhaps his destructive teeth with their eitr will corrode the chains as they should, too.]

[the chains are transparent; they appear to be solid ice. there's no place for Geir to bite on the collar and cuffs without hurting Mikleo, but the short lengths of chain between them he could probably get his teeth around.]

[...this is probably going to hurt; biting solid ice chains doesn't sound pleasant.

Geir tries his best, anyway.]

[i mean, yeah, serious case of brain freeze here

...his poison works, though. the ice is weirdly resistant to it, smoking and hissing and staying solid longer than most things would, but it falls away in the end.

the dragon opens one eye, blinks at Sorey placidly, blows out a huffy little breath, and shuts it again]

Ugh. Ughhhh, my head--

[GEIR JUST

SHOVES HIS HEAD INTO MIKLEO'S SIDE TILL HIS FACE WARMS UP.]

[he can do that! Mikleo is also sort of cool but not brainfreezey.]

[finally sighs and pulls his head back with another wince, to glance at Sorey.]

Are you leading the way? Or are you still too weak?

[he tests the strength of his legs, bending them and making sure they're not just going to randomly give out as he's walking.]

It might be okay now that we're with him. Are you doing okay? Your face might feel better once we're back out there too...

Nah, it was just from biting ice... it'll go away.

[Geir shakes his head disgustedly, but it's more important for them to get out of this weird library in general for now.]

Go ahead. I'll follow and keep him moving from behind.

Alright. Try not to fall too far behind, okay?

[being careful of the baby he takes the lead and makes his way back the way they came, heading for the front entrance of the library. he steals one look behind him to make sure that both dragons are following, but otherwise most of his attention is on not walking into a burning bookshelf and keeping the baby peaceful and sleeping.]

Sure...

[Geir nudges the somnolent dragon to get up and follow Sorey. he has a suspicion that it won't want Sorey to get too far away, anyway.]

[it moves a little drunkenly after him, swaying gently back and forth, but it follows along easily enough...

your strange little parade moves out of the library. there's a flash of blue sky, fresh cold air...

you wake.]

[Geir blinks in confusion at the darkness for a moment -- he wasn't expecting to see that blue sky, and especially wasn't expecting to wake up right afterwards -- and dithers for a moment further, then decides he has to at least check, and sends a tentative telepathic call to both Sorey and Mikleo. he won't ask for details, he decides firmly; he's just worried.]

Um, I just dreamed-- are you guys okay--??

[after a little bit, flustered and worried]

We're...well, we're awake. Sorry, Geir. We just have--some things to talk about.

. . . okay. . .

[he knows how that feels. he's had enough conversations like that with Vern, even if Sorey and Mikleo's might not be taking quite the same direction.
