Hijinks Mingle
Who: Everyone!
Where: Anywhere around the hub!
When: Days 103-105
Open/Closed: Open mingle!
Notes: See this post for details on the moon prompt and this one for the telepathy/dream/spirit prompts!
[A | Flower Gleam and Glow]
[The nearby moon is still passing close to the hub island, meaning the effects are still in play. Perhaps now is the time to stop and smell the large lit up sparkling moonflowers that have bloomed? Or be annoyed by the mosquito-like insects that came with them.
Alternatively, the deer seem to draw some sort of energy from the moon's light. Given their size, at least their sudden aggression and proximity to the base camp isn't the worst thing in the world but a kick would still break a rib or other bone so be careful! Possibly help each other deal with these cute but troublesome fauna.]
[B | Eavesdropping]
[For some reason, the telepathy will suddenly get rather wonky. Characters won't know why it's happening, though of course no doubt there will be ponderings, but it means characters won't be in control of their ability to broadcast — or more specifically, not broadcast — their thoughts. Time to find out secrets of an embarrassing nature. Or maybe something sadder is going on in your character's head.
If this wasn't bad enough, the area around the signet might experience burning or tingling. Just try to keep a lid on your brain for the day and distract yourself from any annoying pain.]
[C | Talking In Your Sleep]
[Or maybe your character just doesn't have the most interesting thoughts. Maybe they're busy thinking about pie instead of their upsetting childhood. That's fair. Pie is great.
But surely sometimes it haunts their dreams. With the telepathy running amuck, it's no wonder dreams and nightmares are leaking through, too. Of course, it doesn't have to be an accident. Feel free to grab a friend and share a fanciful dreamscape together on purpose! But for those nuts that are tougher to crack, accidents can and will happen.]
[D | Who You Gonna Call]
[Last but not least, as Friday rolls around, there seems to be something odd going on with the island. If your character is inclined towards the spiritual or supernatural, they'll no doubt notice the strange heavy thickness hanging around. There are whispers in the air and all of new energy just feels solemn. Might be good to give people a heads up and keep an eye on it.]

Purple jagged lines mar Shiro's side. He claps a hand over it automatically. Behind them, the lights come on along the walls of a military facility. The Garrison and its patrols make him feel a little nostalgic.
The world around them is open. He doesn't glance up as the Black Lion treads to stand behind them. No secrets between comrades. Well, he decides he can keep what isn't known about.]
...Sorry, I'm not used to sharing thoughts in my sleep. We can't help what was already seen but, if you have any questions about it I can answer them.
no subject
Almost quick enough to keep Gaelio from noticing the purple, the uncanny color for what feels like a wound. Almost. A furrow renews in his brow. Past the wound, past the hand, to the building beyond. To the lion, bigger still than the Blue Lion. Gaelio looks up at it, knowing with dream certainty that this is his Lion, Shirogane's.
That one of the few things about which he can be certain. This does not feel like the intended, peaceful walk. It's hard to remember, but he doubts that Shirogane had been wounded inside.
Another thing about which he's sure: ]
Many. [ Questions. ] But you shouldn't answer them.
[ This dream still trusts him, but he hasn't the right to it. Unearned. ]
I don't belong here. I shouldn't know like this.
[ ... ]
More importantly...
[ Nodding low, to his side. ]
How can we get that seen to?
no subject
We can't change what you've seen. Some of it I'd have said anyway.
[He doesn't bring up the Lion watching him or the Galra. Those subjects are best left alone. At least for now.]
It doesn't hurt to let your comrades know what you're capable of.

So Gaelio nods and further takes the cue. He takes his seat between the two front paws, much closer to the one Shirogane sits on. It could, should, even does disquiet some, to be beneath it. Though he can less feel its eyes, that does nothing to reduce the force of its attention. More to the point, there's little purpose in seeking greater distance. Even if out of a paw's reach, against something like that, it a few feet wouldn't make much difference. If it wanted to crush him, it would, and with ease. ]
No. Though, you haven't got this on the island.
[ Stated as if a fact, even as Gaelio realizes he doesn't know that for certain. Drawing one knee to his chest, he looks over the Garrison. ]
Where are we?
no subject
[It explains a few things. He can't quite control everything. He'd intended to look like he had before he was captured. But instead, here he is, in the paladin armor with his Lion watching over both of them. In a way, it's fitting. He can never go back to just being Shiro the fighter pilot.
The wound from Haggar holds more symbolism than he'd like to admit to. Yet he accepts its presence. Acknowledging it is important. He keeps his hand over it anyway to shield it from view. As important as it is he doesn't want to worry his new comrade. Bad enough what he's seen already.] You're right I don't have the Black Lion like this on the island. My Qri given power is to shapeshift into it.
Much of its firepower is reduced. I haven't been able to use anything but the basic form.
no subject
[ The lions were telling enough, or a 10,000 year war, or the implications of Qri's power and their medley group. Yet, it is another thing to be seated on soil of an Earth he's never seen, though born on Earth. To look at a Garrison unlike any by Gjallarhorn, the economic blocs of the Earth Sphere, or any mercenary group.
What should be familiar, even nostalgic, instead as alien as all the rest. He trespasses on this dream, so it isn't surprising. Simply feels it more acutely.
And no, it doesn't look like much, but wealth and glamour often were veneers for rot. Gaelio had not missed as much of Vingolf or the estates as he might have expected. ]
It doesn't look as though your Earth's caught up to your Lion.
[ Or the ship they were on when this began.
His eyebrows lift, startled that his power had been tied to something already so intimate to him. ]
How nearly symbolic. Do you think you'll be able to do more with practice?
