[A | Flower Gleam and Glow]
[The nearby moon is still passing close to the hub island, meaning the effects are still in play. Perhaps now is the time to stop and smell the large lit up sparkling moonflowers that have bloomed? Or be annoyed by the mosquito-like insects that came with them.

Alternatively, the deer seem to draw some sort of energy from the moon's light. Given their size, at least their sudden aggression and proximity to the base camp isn't the worst thing in the world but a kick would still break a rib or other bone so be careful! Possibly help each other deal with these cute but troublesome fauna.]

[B | Eavesdropping]
[For some reason, the telepathy will suddenly get rather wonky. Characters won't know why it's happening, though of course no doubt there will be ponderings, but it means characters won't be in control of their ability to broadcast — or more specifically, not broadcast — their thoughts. Time to find out secrets of an embarrassing nature. Or maybe something sadder is going on in your character's head.

If this wasn't bad enough, the area around the signet might experience burning or tingling. Just try to keep a lid on your brain for the day and distract yourself from any annoying pain.]

[C | Talking In Your Sleep]
[Or maybe your character just doesn't have the most interesting thoughts. Maybe they're busy thinking about pie instead of their upsetting childhood. That's fair. Pie is great.

But surely sometimes it haunts their dreams. With the telepathy running amuck, it's no wonder dreams and nightmares are leaking through, too. Of course, it doesn't have to be an accident. Feel free to grab a friend and share a fanciful dreamscape together on purpose! But for those nuts that are tougher to crack, accidents can and will happen.]

[D | Who You Gonna Call]
[Last but not least, as Friday rolls around, there seems to be something odd going on with the island. If your character is inclined towards the spiritual or supernatural, they'll no doubt notice the strange heavy thickness hanging around. There are whispers in the air and all of new energy just feels solemn. Might be good to give people a heads up and keep an eye on it.]

[kind of shocked:]

Vern, you're already helping...

I, I mean, more consciously, surely I can do more?!

[embarrassed]

[tugs on your hair with his stupid tiny claws; the dream starts fading out around you.]

Wake up...

[ok FINE]

[when Vern wakes up, Geir is curled around him and looking down into his face anxiously. the cave is familiar or close-to-familiar around them, only a bit less decorated than it was in the dreamscape. Geir, too, is familiar and enormous.]

Vern.

[since they somehow managed to experience the magic of each others' horrible nightmares at the same time due to timey-wimey magic waking up is honestly kind of a relief; Vern's eyes are wide and wet, his face sticky.]

Ah.

[...Geir puts his chin on him and wraps him up further with a distressed little huff of breath...]

A-ah--Geir.

[puts his arms around Geir's enormous snout, slowly]

It's me.

[full of distress, more on Vern's behalf than on his own, but calm.]

We dreamed...?

[Geir laughs, shaky.]

I'll say.

...maybe we should take a walk...

[he's not sure he wants to fall back asleep after. that]

Where do you want to go?

[Geir is quiet, willing to go along with whatever Vern feels most comfortable with here.]

I don't know. To, to the water?

Sure.

[he slowly uncoils from Vern, a touch reluctant but ultimately willing.]

[vern keeps a hand on his neck even while they walk there, though it's hard to say who between the two of them he's trying to reassure.]

[the water's not far, unless Vern has another stream in mind than the one outside their door. Geir turns easily to follow it, though, neck and head curved towards Vern, eyes wide in the low light.]

...are you all right...?

Probably. I feel kind of shaky, that's all...

[the fresh air helps; he plumps down in the damp grass near the stream with a deep breath.]

Are you?

[Geir curls up next to him like a small, sighing mountain and curves the tip of his tail around Vern's back and hip.]

I'm well enough. They were just... nightmares, right?

[pets the thin coils around him; even in this weird existential middle of the night funk it's still cute that Geir learned to hug this way]

I don't know...? You called yours a memory...mine had stuff from my memories too. Less literal, though.

[Geir shivers and hugs Vern a little tighter.]

Me being a baby is a memory. Ragnarok just... is. So maybe that wasn't literal either.

The things in your dream were awful.

That was a bad time. I...I'm sorry you keep falling into that one.

I don't mind. If you're dreaming them, I'd rather be there with you.
