Hijinks Mingle
Who: Everyone!
Where: Anywhere around the hub!
When: Days 103-105
Open/Closed: Open mingle!
Notes: See this post for details on the moon prompt and this one for the telepathy/dream/spirit prompts!
[A | Flower Gleam and Glow]
[The nearby moon is still passing close to the hub island, meaning the effects are still in play. Perhaps now is the time to stop and smell the large lit up sparkling moonflowers that have bloomed? Or be annoyed by the mosquito-like insects that came with them.
Alternatively, the deer seem to draw some sort of energy from the moon's light. Given their size, at least their sudden aggression and proximity to the base camp isn't the worst thing in the world but a kick would still break a rib or other bone so be careful! Possibly help each other deal with these cute but troublesome fauna.]
[B | Eavesdropping]
[For some reason, the telepathy will suddenly get rather wonky. Characters won't know why it's happening, though of course no doubt there will be ponderings, but it means characters won't be in control of their ability to broadcast — or more specifically, not broadcast — their thoughts. Time to find out secrets of an embarrassing nature. Or maybe something sadder is going on in your character's head.
If this wasn't bad enough, the area around the signet might experience burning or tingling. Just try to keep a lid on your brain for the day and distract yourself from any annoying pain.]
[C | Talking In Your Sleep]
[Or maybe your character just doesn't have the most interesting thoughts. Maybe they're busy thinking about pie instead of their upsetting childhood. That's fair. Pie is great.
But surely sometimes it haunts their dreams. With the telepathy running amuck, it's no wonder dreams and nightmares are leaking through, too. Of course, it doesn't have to be an accident. Feel free to grab a friend and share a fanciful dreamscape together on purpose! But for those nuts that are tougher to crack, accidents can and will happen.]
[D | Who You Gonna Call]
[Last but not least, as Friday rolls around, there seems to be something odd going on with the island. If your character is inclined towards the spiritual or supernatural, they'll no doubt notice the strange heavy thickness hanging around. There are whispers in the air and all of new energy just feels solemn. Might be good to give people a heads up and keep an eye on it.]

[Shiro leads the way to a grand ballroom, and up the massive staircase in the center.]
We should enjoy it while we can.
no subject
Where are we right now?
no subject
[Everywhere one looks there's some source of light from the lines running along the floor to narrow lines along the walls. Shiro opens the door at the end of the hall and exposes an even wider space. The bridge has a domed ceiling, interrupted by a large crystal hanging down in the center. Five chairs are lit on their edges by colored light, each different from the other. Red, green, yellow, blue, and purple. Consoles glow a soft blue as he steps towards the chair with purple lights on the edges noticeably just past the center of the bridge.
Thin glowing panels made of light spring up as he takes a seat. The outside view of space flickers, briefly showing green trees and the familiar beach seen in the waking world.]
...did you see that?
no subject
He looks around him, marveling at the unfamiliar technology. Softly:]
It reminds me of the Legacy. Is this your world?
no subject
Yes, this is my world. ...and this has been home for a while. At least half a year.
no subject
[He gives a meaningful look to the glowing panels around them.]
no subject
[He glances about him to judge the distances. The Castle is meant to transport the Lions. Whatever else it had is gone. He touches the center panel and words spread out. Voltron. Galra. Alteans. Balmera. Quintessence. Unalu. Names are mixed in and he taps it again. It goes perfectly blank.]
The Legscy is probably bigger than the Castle. This is meant to defend against threats across the galaxy. It was made by a race that almost died out ten thousand years ago. ...what happened to the people who built the Legacy?
no subject
. . . they arrived on an ocean planet, created land on it, and started a war with the native people. In the end, the natives--the Radiant--took control of the ship, and their leader sacrificed herself to destroy much of the land that had been created. Humanity refers to that event as the Cataclysm. It took a lot of lives.
Thousands of years have passed since then. The Legacy was lost for many of them.
no subject
We're fighting a war with a race called the Galra, right now. Their leader used to be my Lion's pilot...until he betrayed everything it stood for.
[Shiro's own voice comes out from the panel as the view from the bridge shifts from space to a star expanse with beaten flat dirt. 'You can't pilot the Black Lion after everything you've done! You're no Paladin!.]
At the time the Lions were sent all over the galaxy. The Black Lion was locked up here to prevent him from getting it.
no subject
Is it responding to your thoughts?
no subject
T-that's not how this usually works. It's just a highly advanced ship. ...let's try something. [He puts his hand squarely on the edge of the panel and focuses. The view shifts to Jay as seen from below, partly obscured by the tree he's in. Fruit drops from above and the view swiftly becomes much closer.]
Looks like you're right. If it responds to me. ...Try to influence it.
no subject
[He's focusing on this fountain, although he'd be looking at it from more of a ground view, and there would also be people milling around the plaza.]
no subject
Is that the Legacy? That architecture does look like the Castle.
[It's still weird that the panel is responding to thought but if that's what it's doing. They could learn a bit more about each other and their worlds.]
Does all of it look that green?
no subject
[He sounds distinctly fond when he talks about the Legacy.]
no subject
[It's a ship but also a land populated by people. He has to wonder what's beyond it. The images ripple, his curiosity seeping in. He takes a breath and they still, leaving the view clear again.]
...and it's the only land on your planet. I'm assuming the way to create land was lost. Have the seas been explored?
no subject
[An image of what looks like a map appears.]
The seas have been mapped. Underwater exploration is still new, however.
no subject
[He touches the image and data scrolls upwards. A black haired Shiro in a military uniform salutes from his id picture. Shiro swipes it aside.
A small, icy moon fills the viewer.] My last mission as a pilot of the Galaxy Garrison. We were to take ice samples from the moon of Kerberos.
...it didn't go as we planned.
How deep have your people been in your seas?

I've asked a lot about your world. Is there anything you want to ask about mine? It doesn't feel right to hear so much and not offer something in return.
no subject
[He says it playfully, though.]
no subject
Wouldn't offer if I wasn't ready for that.
no subject
[He motions to the moon still hanging up there.]
Well, you mentioned your last mission. What happened there?
no subject
[He'd been prepared for this one. It's the most dreamed about thing he's got. Best to just tell it.] My commander, his son, and I were all captured. We were separated.
[He raps on the panel just as the sound of a crowd roars, putting it back to the moon.] I spent time as their prisoner for a year. I don't remember all of it. It still comes back to me in bits and pieces. Anyway, I escaped and returned to Earth to beat them to the Blue Lion of Voltron sleeping there.
I didn't know much then. Only that we couldn't let them have them.
