You're not doing anything right now, right? Good. Genette's using some of the resources taken from Aimintas to create a little get together. Even if you do have something going on, she's not averse to using a little force to make the evening magical. In fact, the magic is exactly how she's pulling this off. Genette is offering you to a little get together at the base camp, which may be all it takes for you to follow her. If not? Your hand is tethered (or some other part of you) quickly and you're led to the camp anyway. This is important, darn it! What's so important? A little "party" of sorts. There's an assortment of foods, some of which have been hastily made since some groups have gone harvesting for new resources, and a large water basin that's acting as a punch bowl. The true purpose of this little activity is a 'get to know you' exercise of sorts. Genette's got a glass container of a large quantity of Elto bones that can short-circuit the tethers, but the caveat is that you have to participate in a little, tethered sharing circle. (It's honestly a good idea to know who you're stuck within your little makeshift coven, but Genette is the pushy sort when she sets her mind to something.) The way to be released from your Elto shackles? Tell everyone your name, where you're from, your magic (seemingly left a little ambiguous) and something else about yourself. Discussions are encouraged! The more people know, the better! After you're done sharing with the class, food and drink is yours to have -- or you can just run off, that's fine too. OOC: Characters who would have absolutely nothing to do with this can of course escape, whether fleeing in the first place or using Elto bones of their own to circuit out their tether. A ▢ This is it -- your character can breathe deeply, unlock their knees and get this little activity over with. All they have to do is share the criteria and they're free to go! B ▢ Afterwards, their free to stick around the area and mingle. There IS food and also drinks. They may also want to have a more private conversation about something they learned tonight.

I should have been more clear. What I mean is that... it's a great thing to be just as important to someone as they are to you. A rare and precious thing.

[ jude tilts his head, a little baffled by the idea of emil not taking lalli seriously. ]

But... why would he think that?

Because last time I said and did weird stuff that I don't do, I got really warm or something. I thought I was poisoned.

[Because that makes the most sense.]

... I think you might have been having a different reaction altogether.

[ a wry smile as jude shakes his head. these two... ]

[He narrows his eyes a little, like studying Jude closely will let him skip asking to get all the information he needs. Really, though...]

I'm just glad it hasn't happened again. It's too weird.

Well, weird or not, I can assure you that you don't have to worry about being poisoned by feelings.

[He makes...some kind of noise at that. It's a little hard to distinguish, but it's probably sort of a disdainful scoff-grumble?]

I didn't worry about emotions poisoning me. I thought I was poisoned into feeling them, and doing weird stuff. Because it wasn't normal.

I hate to break it to you, but emotions are a fairly normal thing to have. Even weird ones.

[His eyes sharpen again as he keeps studying Jude, until he sniffs haughtily and looks off to the side.]

You are not a good doctor. I might not understand it, but I know what is and isn't normal for me more than you do, so you should listen instead of deciding that yourself.

[ jude looks totally thrown off by the sudden outburst, sort of unable to decide how to handle it. or how to talk to lalli at all, really.

That's not a real apology. If you meant it to be.

[He hasn't experienced many of them, but since he relies more on words than the hard-to-decipher emotion behind them, that one is definitely bad.]

Whether you consider it a real apology or not, I do mean it. I was hoping we could maybe be friends.

It's not a real apology because it's about what I did, not you.

[sooo yep. He's back to scrutinizing.]

I don't know enough to decide that yet. Why do you want to be friends?

[ honestly, jude supposes lalli has a point. at the same time, jude doesn't see a real reason why he should be apologizing. he's not exactly sure what he did to warrant a reaction like that in the first place. ]

Do I need a concrete reason?

[Bad with words, he had a hard time pinpointing the reasons he liked being friends with Emil and Akira, his Two Whole Friends. Still...]

Not to be friends. But to hope for that from someone, yes. You have to want things for reasons.

Well... I guess the biggest reason is that Emil cares about you, and I care about Emil. Any friend of Emil's is a friend of mine. I've been wanting to meet you for quite awhile. He talks about you a lot.

[lalliho]

[Emil having plenty of other friends is expected and preferable to the alternative, but the idea still throws him every single time he stops to think about it. Just gonna ignore that and focus on the problem really at hand.]

That's a really stupid reason to think you're friends with someone. I like that you like Emil, but that doesn't really have anything to do with me? Unless you liked something he said.

[ the more lalli speaks, the less wary jude is. what's becoming more and more clear to him is that lalli is just, for whatever reason, pretty confused about the world and the people around him. ]

No, it doesn't exactly have anything to do with you, but whenever Emil talks about you it makes me wish that we could be friends, too. That's all it is.

Is that so odd?

[While not totally wrong, Jude's own worldview can be a little, um. Interesting. Unless you're Lalli, then his worldview is incredibly invasive and assumptive.]
