You're not doing anything right now, right? Good. Genette's using some of the resources taken from Aimintas to create a little get together. Even if you do have something going on, she's not averse to using a little force to make the evening magical. In fact, the magic is exactly how she's pulling this off. Genette is offering you to a little get together at the base camp, which may be all it takes for you to follow her. If not? Your hand is tethered (or some other part of you) quickly and you're led to the camp anyway. This is important, darn it! What's so important? A little "party" of sorts. There's an assortment of foods, some of which have been hastily made since some groups have gone harvesting for new resources, and a large water basin that's acting as a punch bowl. The true purpose of this little activity is a 'get to know you' exercise of sorts. Genette's got a glass container of a large quantity of Elto bones that can short-circuit the tethers, but the caveat is that you have to participate in a little, tethered sharing circle. (It's honestly a good idea to know who you're stuck within your little makeshift coven, but Genette is the pushy sort when she sets her mind to something.) The way to be released from your Elto shackles? Tell everyone your name, where you're from, your magic (seemingly left a little ambiguous) and something else about yourself. Discussions are encouraged! The more people know, the better! After you're done sharing with the class, food and drink is yours to have -- or you can just run off, that's fine too. OOC: Characters who would have absolutely nothing to do with this can of course escape, whether fleeing in the first place or using Elto bones of their own to circuit out their tether. A ▢ This is it -- your character can breathe deeply, unlock their knees and get this little activity over with. All they have to do is share the criteria and they're free to go! B ▢ Afterwards, their free to stick around the area and mingle. There IS food and also drinks. They may also want to have a more private conversation about something they learned tonight.

[Straightfaced, Dirk raises his hand like he's in a classroom.]

Can we see the lion.

[Look, if one of his teammates is a weird Transformer/werelion crossbreed, he wants to see it.]

I don't mind showing you. [He gives the tether a bit of slack. It's going to need it and in the next moment, the robotic lion is in place of the man. He stretches from nose to tail.]

I can only hold it for fifteen minutes. For now.

Can I take a look at it. Do you know about its mechanics? [HE WANTS TO EXAMINE THE MECHA sure it's a real person but it's a cool mech!!!]

[He wishes he could make facial expressions like this. Shiro lays down to allow Dirk to have a better look at him.]

I know some of how the lions work but not why so many systems are down right now. This magic might only be an echo of the real thing.

To be frank, I'd be interested in all of them. I've worked with robots before, but I've never designed or worked with something of this size or construction.

[He's coming clooooser so he can inspect the joints. What he really wants is inside, which you know. Might be dissecting Shiro? So that could be weird.]

What systems aren't functioning?

This isn't even the right size. The Black Lion is supposed to be massive. All weapon systems are down. I haven't tried flying but the rockets aren't activating in a ground rush.

[What does he know about the Lion's inner workings? Not as much as he'd like to.]

What we know about the Lions comes from what they will tell us. They're sentient machines and even like this I can still feel the Black lion's consciousness...just barely. They have an unlimited energy source...part of the problem might be the magic can't replicate or fuel that kind of power.

Or the fuel is my own energy and that's pretty limited right now.

[The joints are as sleek as the rest of the lion. Even the joints of the jaw work smoothly and without any hinderance. Shiro turns his head to watch him without a sound of gears shifting.]

Sentient machines, huh? It's impressive you can still feel the consciousness here.

[He doesn't want to pry at Shiro any further, but even with his sunglasses and neutral expression, it's pretty obvious that he's completely fascinated by what's in front of him.]

Do you think we could hook you into an energy source? [They have the bones, after all. Those don't seem to be limited.] What material are they made from?

I don't know much about the materials they were constructed from. Whatever the comet was made of...usually it can take a lot of punishment without a scratch on it. But that might not be the case now. Especially if the Qri is only making a copy of the original.

[He sits up so he doesn't have to twist his head around to look at Dirk. For now, he's content to stay as a lion. Study away, Dirk.]

I did use a bone once. Before it knocked me off my feet I did notice it was easier to change. But, there wasn't any significant boost or systems coming back online. It might be the wrong kind of energy.

[He nods. As Shiro suggested: wrong kind of energy, or a limited copy. They both are possibilities.]

How fucked up would it be if I asked to take what is technically you apart.

[He immediately leans back a bit.]

No. ...but, there is something I can let you take a look at. How familiar are you with robotic prosthetics?

Decently. I built a robotic leg for a guy I knew a few years ago.

[Shiro changes back and takes a second to breathe. That's the unsettling part of shapeshifting. As a lion, he doesn't need air.]

I can't overlook the possibility we'll run into something that can break it. [He holds up his right very obviously robotic arm. The grey metal starts halfway down his bicep.]

...especially in a lower frequency world where its full abilities are locked away.

[Dirk actually keeps a somewhat more respectful distance this time. Look, Shiro is less of a giant robot and more of a person this time?]

That's an interesting design. Human-tech or alien?

Alien. It contains a chunk of data but, all of it is in their language code. Should be possible I could carry sensitive data in but, I don't know how much of the code is for how the arm runs.

[He notes that change but doesn't comment. It just puts a few more pieces in the impression he has of Dirk.]

But, it's an option if we ever need it to be.

I might be able to do something with it. I've had some experience with salvaging alien tech.

[A little more to go on for Alternian things, but still.]

What would you need from me if you looked it over?

[He can at least explain some of the systems and what he knows of Galra language.]

Any information you had on it, and the ability to sit still for a couple hours.

[He's willing to figure out everything else on his own.]

Sitting still that long won't be a problem. I can tell you as much as I know and we've been able to learn about it.

It will be a little while. I’ve been focusing on getting practice and endurance for Black Lion form. ...I’m not sure how to go about learning to fly.

We could attach rockets to your paws.

[So long as they don’t use nitro. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem. ...right?]
