catch-all open log!
Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: On the beach, and various other places throughout the hub island
When: Day 80, and the next couple days after
Open/Closed: open log for hub shenanigans!
[This evening, someone has placed an old, rusted-over camp stove on the beach near the coven's row of huts--anyone examining it in detail will see that it's not operational at the moment, but that could potentially be changed, couldn't it? If someone was handy with mechanical things . . . .
Next to it is a crate (which, from the weight of it is empty) and pinned to that crate is a sheet of paper with a map on it, something like a much cruder, black-and-white version of this:

with the following key:
1 - crags. Contain snakes which may be poisonous. Watch out.
2 - ocean, going about one mile out from the coast.
3 - lagoon. Contains thick reeds (could be woven or shaped into tools) and frogs (edibility uncertain).
4 - abandoned campsite.
5 - orchard. Currently, trees are diseased and bare. Plant healer needed.
6 - abandoned house. A family used to live here, from the looks of it. Still contains some useful supplies.
And there should be a 7 north of base camp with the notation "graveyard. Graves unused." but the player forgot and is too lazy to go back and fix it right now. Observant individuals will note that the map looks like a more detailed version of one hanging on the door to a certain coven member's cabin, one that has a note on the bottom: "Have information? Ask for Jay."
Other than that, it's a quiet night on the hub island. We've been here for a couple days; maybe you're getting restless? Want to check out that ocean, or lagoon, or even those crags? Maybe just go door-to-door in the beach huts? Maybe you're sick of shrimp and looking for other things to eat . . . hopefully someone's got a fire going tonight, and thought to kill a boar . . . .
What are you doing tonight?]

[She recognizes his voice more than anything else! It's that world traveler with the weird clock tower. An apologetic smile will be given as she heads his away, after putting down her boots to the ground, she'll begin to collect the limitless amount of seashells he literally had on top of him.]
I kinda wanna ask the story behind this, but I think you've been punished enough.
[She'll begin to take a handful of it, trying to collect as many as she possibly can without getting too greedy.]
Are you able to move yet?
no subject
Eventually she moves enough off of him that he can sit up, the rest of the shells pouring onto the ground around him with a clatter. ... He looks more embarrassed than anything. ]
... Yeah, thanks. ... It's not a long story, but it's a dumb one, and you'd probably laugh.
no subject
I already kinda laughed at the thought of the beach giving you a penalty for getting overly greedy. There's no point in getting shy about it now.
[He may as well tell her. Then again, she was a kind person too. Maybe she should give him a bone.]
But I could overlook it in wanting to know the reason behind having gotten overwhelm by shells in the first place. Why did you collect so much for? Are you thinking of creating a business with them or something?
no subject
[ He stands up, the remainder of the shells in his lap pouring down to the sand. ]
... Seriously, thanks, though. I was really expecting to be there all night...
no subject
[No, he definitely got carried away with it, but she could forgive him on the beach's behalf if the reason behind it was due to wanting to find something comforting. They were far away from home.]
Oh, it's no problem! Glad to have been of help. Having to sleep here wouldn't be the most ideal. Not when the nights are starting to get cold.
[He was just asking to get sick otherwise.]
What are you going to do now? Are you going to return the shells or guilt trip me into helping you take them back to your shack?
no subject
[ He digs through the pile of shells until he finds one he likes- a petal shell, close enough to the kind he was hoping to find. Satisfied, he slips it into his pocket. ]
... Besides, if I brought you back to my place, you'd probably pick apart how it looked for being impractical or something. [ Grump grump grump. TWILIGHT TOWN IS PERFECT, OKAY. ]
no subject
Which in hindsight may have been a good idea considering his next comment. Wow. He really did remember her, didn't he?]
Are you still hung up over that? In having found your world's clock tower to be weird. [Because it's still weird! JUST ACCEPT THE FACT YOUR TOWN HAS ECCENTRIC TASTES!] Is your tower worth holding a grudge over?
no subject
Roxas reaches into the pile of shells, pulls out a pointy one, and starts to draw in the sand.
He has perfect recall of what Twilight Town looked like, thanks to the way his memories were made. Unfortunately, well, his artistic talent doesn't quite match. ]
What's so weird about it? C'mon, show me.
no subject
Are you for real!?
[His pouty look says it all, huh? She'll get one of the shells from the ground and begins to draw arrows on the parts she found weird, even adding her own writing to it for better emphasis, and a circle in the end. She still recall his tower after seeing his drawing.]
This part here isn't normal to put in a damn tower unless it is a giant candle lamp or something! [Pointing to the very top. The thing known as stretched out bells. Then she moves on to the weird tiny circle in the middle.] What is that!? [Before moving on to the bigger circle as she proclaims.] This may just be the most normal of normal buildings I have ever seen! Everything else should be taken out!
this is officially my favorite cr
[ He grumbles. C'mon, what is it about this that's so hard to understand??? ]
It works for what it is and it makes Twilight Town unique. It's totally not weird.
haha best way to begin a friendship: criticizing clocktower designs.
[There are so many safety hazards about this now! Why would anyone leave projectiles to just hang out of a large tower!? A grumble of her own will be returned at his explanation over the weird looking circle being a clock.]
That can't be a clock! [Drawing a new arrow over the sand.] Isn't this suppose to be the blasted clock??
no subject
[ IT'S SAFE OR THEY WOULDN'T LET CHILDREN EAT ICE CREAM UP THERE ]
They're both clocks! It's a clock tower, of course there's a lot of clocks! There's one over the station entrance, too!
no subject
[She's just. Not getting it. Then again, she has no idea what a train even is, even less a train station. What is it used for again?
Well, it doesn't matter! It was clear they weren't going to agree about the design. May as well let this one go. Hopefully.]
I hope you're right about the bells part. I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt because of them.
[Kneeling over to get a good look at his drawing, she can't help realize.]
Your drawing isn't so bad. It reminds me of it. [Looking at him.] Good work at drawing better than a kid would.
