Who: Anyone and everyone!
Where: On the beach, and various other places throughout the hub island
When: Day 80, and the next couple days after
Open/Closed: open log for hub shenanigans!

[This evening, someone has placed an old, rusted-over camp stove on the beach near the coven's row of huts--anyone examining it in detail will see that it's not operational at the moment, but that could potentially be changed, couldn't it? If someone was handy with mechanical things . . . .

Next to it is a crate (which, from the weight of it is empty) and pinned to that crate is a sheet of paper with a map on it, something like a much cruder, black-and-white version of this:



with the following key:

1 - crags. Contain snakes which may be poisonous. Watch out.
2 - ocean, going about one mile out from the coast.
3 - lagoon. Contains thick reeds (could be woven or shaped into tools) and frogs (edibility uncertain).
4 - abandoned campsite.
5 - orchard. Currently, trees are diseased and bare. Plant healer needed.
6 - abandoned house. A family used to live here, from the looks of it. Still contains some useful supplies.

And there should be a 7 north of base camp with the notation "graveyard. Graves unused." but the player forgot and is too lazy to go back and fix it right now. Observant individuals will note that the map looks like a more detailed version of one hanging on the door to a certain coven member's cabin, one that has a note on the bottom: "Have information? Ask for Jay."

Other than that, it's a quiet night on the hub island. We've been here for a couple days; maybe you're getting restless? Want to check out that ocean, or lagoon, or even those crags? Maybe just go door-to-door in the beach huts? Maybe you're sick of shrimp and looking for other things to eat . . . hopefully someone's got a fire going tonight, and thought to kill a boar . . . .

[ You're talking to a certified world hopper, friend, so his response to that is to casually put his hands behind his head, leaning his weight back a little. ]

I think I can handle the idea of it. [ Of there being two worlds like that. He says this rather casually, with a bit of amusement in his voice. Granted, that sort of situation isn't something Sora is familiar with, and it sounds pretty cool to him, but he's already viewing this entire thing as another world hopping experience anyway. ]

So the people there can just go between them whenever they want?

For a long time, there used to be something called a schism separating them. Elympions were trapped in Rieze Maxia with no way to get back. But since then, the schism has been broken, and travel has been implemented to go back and forth. It's pretty neat, actually.

Whoa ... [ That sounds kinda complicated but also pretty neat. He's never heard of a schism but it's opening his eyes to maybe more types of worlds and situations out there. He likes it. ] Glad you guys figured out how to get between 'em then. [ He doesn't know how the schism broke or how they figured out travel between them but he can't imagine that being easy. ]

But it doesn't sound like Elympios is doing so well. If it looks like a place like this.

[ From how he spoke about it a moment ago. ]

Ah... yeah.

[ just like that, his eyes are clouded with something like regret again. ]

While Rieze Maxia is flourishing... Elympios looks just like this. The nature is dead, the trees are bare... it's like the environment has just been sucked dry. Before I ended up here I was studying up on a potential solution. Environmental science, to be specific. It's a long and ardous process, though.

[ a weak chuckle. ]

I'm rambling too much, aren't I? And I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Jude.

[ he stands up to reach out a hand. ]

[ Ah ... This might be a bit of a sensitive subject. Though Sora's interested in it regardless, since it sounds like a genuinely nice effort on Jude's part and it's interesting to hear about the situations in other worlds and how the people are. He can't help himself there.

But he gives a soft smile and shakes his head in response to that rambling bit. ] No way. You sound like a good guy, Jude. [ Just being honest there. ] I'm sure you'll find a solution! [ There's some passion in his voice there — despite just meeting him.

And he reaches out to shake his hand! ] I'm Sora.

You sure are optimistic, aren't you?

[ but... that makes him happy. it sort of reminds him of his best friend. he needs that optimism to keep going, needs to hold onto it and refuse to let go. ]

But it's a good thing! Hold onto that. And it's nice to meet you, Sora. I'll make sure to keep your encouragement in mind when I can get back to it.

So... what about you? Where do you come from?

[ Sora never consciously thinks about his optimistic nature, so he's a little amused to hear that, but that certainly doesn't deter him from being himself.

And he gives a strong, determined nod, accompanied with a smile, when Jude mentions keeping his encouragement in mind. He really believes Jude will prevail, okay!! And he's glad to be of help even if it's small. ]

The world I'm from is pretty small. Just a couple of islands. But ... it's great there.

[ Something he can truly appreciate after all the traveling he'd done. It's his home. ]

I can't wait to go back.

[ He'd only finally arrived after so long, and now he's been brought here. It's a little saddening, especially since he does miss friends (aside from Riku, since he's here), but it's nothing he can't deal with. ]

Islands? So is it sort of like the hub? I definitely don't live on an island, but I did grow up in a small seaside town.

[ jude's smile is much less strained this time. ]

But... I know how you feel. At the very least, are there any friends from home here with you?

[ that makes things... a lot easier. ]

Sorta. Just ... with more water. [ The spacey thing the hub world does is not a thing his home does. But he guesses they're a little similar? Both being islands and all. ]

Yeah. A couple of my friends are here! [ And he's grateful for that. ] What about you?

[talim]

I have a couple here, too.

[ and jude is grateful, too. a smile is still curving his lips. ]

They're still pretty new to the place, though. Did your friends come here when you did?

Nah, I got here before they did. [ Maybe a month before Roxas and Riku, he thinks? ] Guess we got pretty lucky, to have 'em here with us.

[ And a pause, because he's curious about this. ] Which world are your friends from?

[ Elympios or Rieze Maxia? The idea of that stuff still interests him. ]

They're both from Elympios, but one of them was trapped in Rieze Maxia when I met him. I had no idea Elympios even existed back then, though.

You sure are a curious person...

[ not that there's anything wrong with that. it doesn't bother him at all. ]

[ Softly here: ] Whoa ...

[ That's all just ... so interesting to him. It was pretty amazing to arrive in a different world and learn of so many others for Sora, so he thinks maybe he can understand what it could've been like for them to learn another world was there, too, maybe. At least from his perspective.

But oops, he gets a little embarrassed at that last bit. ]

Er, sorry. I just think your world sounds neat. I didn't mean to pry.

[ His curiosity for other worlds knows no bounds, it seems. ]
