Since the Palai discovered that the coven is preparing to leave, they've been preparing for the moment their friends do eventually vanish. This means wrapping up large baskets of food and other supplies that will be given to the coven for their large caravan -- but they also like to give out little personal gifts to those that they recognize or have formed a bond with. Though the Palai are usually people of celebrations, this event is much more muted and personal. Gifts are given and they're certainly congregating, but there's also a dull hum of sadness in the air. The coven has done a lot for their people and helped them establish protection for themselves, so how they fare from here should be positive. With the Uvi gone, will another threat arrive? Who knows -- but the coven won't be here to witness it.
B ▢ Certain Palai may have gotten to know your character over their time in Aimintas -- or maybe they barely know your character because they're newer! No matter who your character is, the Palai will give them personalized gifts. These can be based on your character's appearance, extremely insulting, just what your character needed, etc. C ▢ Finally, the Palai are grateful for what the coven's magic has done for them. Some of the Lyna have created little amulets out of the Elto bones, inserting them into glass spheres that glow and prevent some of the electrical sting. These can help your character amplify their powers, which may be fun to play with. Focusing on telepathy while using these amulets, however, will also amplify speech -- leading to some telepathic screaming that your character maybe didn't intend. D ▢ Wildcard! What unfinished business does your character have remaining in Aimintas? Now's the time to take care of it. They'll be gone come tomorrow afternoon. |
CLOSED TO AKIRA
jude drops the books and points at him, mouth agape. ]
It's you!
[ ... and then he casts his gaze down to the books on the ground. maybe he ...overreacted a little... but look, he had been waiting for an opportunity to meet him. who else is he going to tell about hibiki's constant threats on his short life? ]
I-I mean... it is you, right?
[ thanks jude that explains everything. ]
i'm crying this is beautiful
akira stands there, blinking, expression unreadable. there's a long pause, his hands remaining stuffed in his pockets. to be fair, there aren't many guys with glasses in the coven so it's pretty reasonable of a guess. except akira has no idea what is happening. ]
Ah. Yes. It's me.
[ he repeats it in utter deadpan, lifting his right hand to push his glasses further up his nose. ]
Last time I checked. [ oh okay. ]
this is going to be So Good
Hibiki's boyfriend. Akira, right?
[ then and only then does jude realize that he's kind of sort of acting like a total creep. with a sheepish laugh, he crouches down to gather up his books, peering up at akira with a curious gaze before standing. ]
Sorry, I just... I was really surprised. I was kind of hoping to run into you at some point. Your boyfriend has threatened me with murder on more than one occasion, after all.
I don't think he even meant to tell me he had one. It just sort of slipped out.
i can't breathe

CLOSED TO HARU
it's nothing more than a platonic thing, just two friends chatting and getting to know each other better when they aren't 1.) forced into a blind speed date; 2.) under attack; 3.) extremely intoxicated. but regardless, jude can't help but feel just a little bit nervous. haru is such a sweet girl; someone he's come to like and admire a lot. jude doesn't exactly have much (or any) dating experience, and he doesn't want to stumble all over himself and embarrass her, or, or...
well, there are lots of potential disasters playing out in jude's head when he opens the door to the cafe with a jingle and sees haru already waiting for him. crap, wasn't he supposed to be the early one? isn't that how it works?! and he's still ten minutes early, too. just when did she get here? ]
Haru!
[ shoving those pointless worries aside, jude offers her a bright smile and a wave. they've been promising to do this for weeks. it's about time things settled down enough to actually make it more than just a promise. ]
no subject
Today however, their last day in Aimintas they are finally getting that chance.
Haru found herself a little nervous, she's never really asked someone to just go out with her on a friendly basis. It's not something that she was used to, and yet with Jude it just seemed so easy? In the end this caused her to show up a half hour early for their scheduled time.]
Oh, Jude-kun!
[He's finally here, thank goodness. No more awkward stares from people who thought she may have been stood up.]
It's good to see you.
no subject
It's good to see you, too. I'm glad we could finally make this work.
[ a light laugh. ]
How have you been? No more strange vials, right?

rip when jude doesn't have time to check it out
shhh jude, there will be another world and another bakery to fix.
he will visit them all
that's very dedicated, jude-kun.

MADOKA
Haru will take time for that later. Right now? She's promised to spend some quality time with Madoka after their little scare during the Uvi attack. She's certain that she'd made her young friend more afraid and scared than she had any other time.
So once she sees her, she'll wave her down.]
Madoka-chan!
no subject
[there's still a lot to worry about. almost too much so. but the two of them need this quiet time together, to recharge, to not think about what's ahead of them, if only for a little while.]
[and so, Madoka's wearing a bright smile when she hears her name, lifting a hand to wave back.]
There you are, Haru-san! What would you like to do today?

NIKE
It makes for two very busy young women!
When they finally get the chance to meet up, the conversation pretty quickly turns to the fate of their young lizard children. Of course neither of them would want to abandon them...]
Nike-chan? Do you think it's smart to take the Palai children away form their home world?
no subject
She had wanted to discuss over the matter of their adopted children's future with someone she could trust and knew would not be as bias as herself. Haru was the best candidate for the job which will be proved by her first question. Her attention will be on their children as they were told to play while the adults had something important to talk about.]
I don't know.
[It was the most honest of answers that she gives Haru; after all...]
Usually, it'd be for the best to leave children under the guidance of those who better understand them, but it isn't very easy to do that in this case. Considering they're all orphan and were only given to us because all of the remaining couples had no more room for them.
[The idea of abandoning children without anywhere to turn to was unappealing to her. Even if the Palai found a way to find a place for them, what if they get ignored in favor of the couple's original children or get lost in the family shuffle? Nike was reminded of her own childhood. Those memories were enough to leave Nike at a loss on which will be the best decision to make.]
...I don't want to leave her behind, but I can't guarantee her safety neither. I mean, there will be worlds, where we have to rely solely on the abilities this Qri gave us, right?
[And her power given from that woman was completely useless (and embarrassing) in a actual fight.]

AKIRA
Though for Haru, it makes their friendship all the better.
She goes to the park like every single other time they've needed to talk and she looks up at the sky. Perhaps it's just her... but it doesn't look as strange and concerning as it did most of the other days that they were here.]

every now and then, he does something a bit strange -- rears up against the side of a brick or stone building and scrapes his claws across it, making a mark. but it never seems to leave quite the impression he wants it to, and he shakes his head with a gentle huff and moves on.]
no subject
She's seen Geir around here and there--the big dragon is kind of hard to miss, and they've both been part of the Barrier Quest shenanigans--but never quite had the . . . courage? Social energy? to come over and say hi. Mostly, she's kind of observed from afar.
It's hard to do when you run into each other in the middle of a city street, though, which is what happens when she isn't looking where she's going and nearly runs into him. She starts back with a blink.]
Oh. Um. Hi?
no subject
[Geir looks down at the small human(?). he's seen her around too, but she's never come over to talk to him, and in the midst of all the barrier nonsense and battling he hasn't gotten a chance to talk to nearly everyone in the coven yet. it's definitely weird, having so many people around that you can just not really meet them.
even weirder is that she didn't seem to notice him till she almost bounced off of his scales. Geir doesn't flatter himself, but hanging out with humans has quickly led him to absorb the fact that he's... somewhat noticeable among them.]
Wow, did you really not see me? That doesn't happen very often.

[Rather than decide for the baby, Robin's opted to let little Beech decide for herself whether or not to stay with her kind. If she wants to stay with him, then it's probably fine, but she needs to be aware that he's technically dead and his disappearance is an eventuality, not a possibility. It's a little much for a baby, honestly.
But his explanation hardly matters, because after about fifteen seconds of him telling her why he's a terrible choice for a father, the lizard baby has already attached herself to his leg, hugging it. Robin is, as far as observers will be able to tell, equal parts flustered, angry, and happy.]
B for Bullying
[Robin has been handed a pair of scissors by a Palai whose marketplace stall he helped rebuild.]
Uh...thanks, I guess....?
[The Palai points to the hair hanging in his face. Robin gives them a wordless, vaguely offended gaze.
What a time for someone to stumble upon this exchange.]

[Apparently, some cute little girl is shocked, just shocked at what's happening here and has come to Robin's defense. She's... come to his... defense... right?]
Who did something so awful to your hair? Did they make you chop it off? Cagliostro feels so sorry for you!
[She definitely hasn't come to his defense]
