[WORLD ONE | SEPTEMBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members, old blood & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repurcussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What you may not know is that this world recently experienced something of a tragedy. You wouldn't be able to guess this based on the festive energy in the air. The main marketplace where you've shown up finished reconstruction last night, and after grief comes joy to the Palai -- those lizard creatures you see wandering around. They're now hosting a festival to celebrate their success and the lives of those both still present and those lost. It's also a chance for them to host one of those big celebrations like they'd previously seen in human books. However, their resources are limited -- don't blame them if things are a little cut-and-paste!

This is all pretty juvenile, but fear not! For the mature sort and adults of Aimintas, there's a more quiet part set up that may cater to your older interests. A softer atmosphere, away from the excitement of things. If you want to wind down from the thrill of being magicked away to a new world, this is probably the best way for it.
D ▢ The environment in this more secluded area of the marketplace is supposed to be more relaxed, but it's also the best place to sit if you want a front row seat to the fireworks exhibit the remaining Eltos are putting on. Through balls of dye and their electrical powers, they're quickly blowing up the sky with arcs of color that rain down in the form of bright pieces of glitter once the spectacle is over. They also have a special service they're offering -- the Eltos have a grasp on electrical magic, which means they can draw certain things in the sky with these dye balls. If you have a request for a written message or a drawing of some sort, they'd be happy to comply with your wish! For the real adult experience, however, you may want to check out the large rolling cart that Palai are pushing around the marketplace, landing it in the fireworks area. This cart is filled with all of the eggs that were a product of their mating season, and this part of Aimintas is the warmest.

Finally, the Palai are getting used to the standard familiar faces, so they aren't unaware that there are quite a few new faces in the mix. Based on how familiar your character is, they'll receive a nice little gift from the Palai. Older coven members will receive a scrolled parchment that lists them as honorary citizens of Aimintas and a handmade, harden clay sculpture of their likeness. It may not look a lot like them, but they tried.
G ▢ Because the Palai recognize new faces, these new coven members will be dragged to other coven members who they do recognize. In an effort to help make introductions, the Palai are trying to connect new members with old members in order to foster friendships. Say hi to a new, awkwardly introduced covenmate...? H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

[He'd been giving one of the lizard things the stink eye before properly looking at the person he had been brought to, which is why he didn't immediately notice the, uh...goggles. His expression turns queer for a moment before he does the only thing he can think to do.
Well, two things. One is squat a little cause of the height difference.
THEN he just waves his hand in front of him.]
no subject
[So far as he can detect, the guy's just fine, but he's waving his hand like it's on fire. Well, minus the expected screaming. The simplest way to figure out what this man is doing is just to ask.
And although Travis can't see it, maybe he can feel the puzzled staring directed squarely at him]
no subject
Oh! Maybe it's like one of those comic book kind of deals. Where you're blind, but not really. You see everything in red or someshit. Or maybe you just got echolocation.
That totally makes sense. Yup. Absolutely. Although...he swears this guy is looking at him kind of funny. He doesn't know how, but just...he can feel it.]
My hand's fine, dude! A-ok, all that...
[He glances at it for a moment. Then lifts his shades to glance some more, before turning the back of it towards the superhero.]
Okay, second opinion. Does this-[He said, pointing to a perfectly normal part of his hand] Seem really red to you? Or blue?
no subject
Neither. You don't think you're red or blue... do you?
[Because if he does, that's pretty concerning and they should probably get him some medical help. Can Jude heal things like that? 9S can only hope that healing magic stuff would work that way.
Otherwise he's not too sure how to help someone who sees his skin as a primary color instead of in in natural pigments]
Because you look like a normal human to me.
no subject
But he did say something kind of weird right then, didn't he?]
Well fuck, that's good I guess? What passes for a not normal human? And tread carefully, I can already hear the furious typing of keyboard warriors over that question.
[Beat.]
...also how do you even see?
no subject
Despite appearances, my goggles actually improve my vision. It's part of my uniform, same as 2B.
[Give him a moment as he turns on his heel and immediately points out a woman across the room, minding her own business, dressed in a fashion that rather matches his own. Clearly this is the best illustration of what YoRHa look like.
Same coloring, nearly the same height if heels weren't involved, and that whole gothic lolita vibe. Good stuff, right?
He turns back to Travis then, letting his hand drop. Surely the point is made]
I don't know what a keyboard warrior is, but I'd say there's something seriously wrong with a human who's solid blue or red. I've never heard of anything like it, anyway.
no subject
[Head. Fucking. Tilt. In what goddamn universe did those pass as goggles? Of course, while wondering about that, 9S pointed out something way more worth his attention. Similar? Sure. But that woman was fucking killing it. Like something straight out of an artbook. From a series that belonged to some oddball, probably.
Suddenly, he was nodding his head and rubbing his chin]
Now that you mention it, of course they're goggles. It makes perfect sense.
[So do the heels. And the style. And the everything.]
I know the red one can happen, but I'm pretty sure it requires a fuckload of radiation. And a solid green person already existing to serve as a foil to.
no subject
[He's just going to say this, concern obvious in his tone. The notion is disturbing to anyone who was created to fight for, protect, and even love mankind. And that's precisely what androids are meant to do, even in their absence.
At least it's just a theoretical scenario the man presents, and it seems with the example of 2B, he's accepted the functionality of goggles. And that's a lot easier than it usually is with humans around here]
Never heard of a green person before. And what's a foil?
[Scanners and questions. Always Scanners and questions.
Alas, there's no aluminum foil in the post-apocalyptic distant future, much less fencing foils, and who's ever heard of tropes? Not this guy]
no subject
[For a minute there, he wasn't entirely sure whether or not the kid...?... was taking him seriously or not. And when he figured that he was, once again he forgot that it wasn't ACTUALLY a blindfold and gave him a rather queer, "are-you-for-real" look.
A quick shake of his head and a glance upwards gave him pause to realize that this? Was perfect. Hey, if someone was going to leave naive children around, it was his job to make them regret it. Get ready for conversations about Santa, and the birds and the bees, whoever your guardian was!]
Well, now you have. As for foils, they're pretty much assholes who exist to make you look way better.
no subject
[At least, 9S knows he wouldn't want to be one of these foil-guys. And he's not sure he'd particularly want one either. Were one's merits really shining through if they had someone like that around? Human culture sure is confusing to look at from the outside, more often than not.
The more he finds out, the more questions he ends up with.
But that reminds him of where their conversation had begun, and the fact that he's allowed himself to get distracted as he is often prone to]
But you've got questions too, right? About all this?
