[WORLD ONE | SEPTEMBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members, old blood & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repurcussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What you may not know is that this world recently experienced something of a tragedy. You wouldn't be able to guess this based on the festive energy in the air. The main marketplace where you've shown up finished reconstruction last night, and after grief comes joy to the Palai -- those lizard creatures you see wandering around. They're now hosting a festival to celebrate their success and the lives of those both still present and those lost. It's also a chance for them to host one of those big celebrations like they'd previously seen in human books. However, their resources are limited -- don't blame them if things are a little cut-and-paste!

This is all pretty juvenile, but fear not! For the mature sort and adults of Aimintas, there's a more quiet part set up that may cater to your older interests. A softer atmosphere, away from the excitement of things. If you want to wind down from the thrill of being magicked away to a new world, this is probably the best way for it.
D ▢ The environment in this more secluded area of the marketplace is supposed to be more relaxed, but it's also the best place to sit if you want a front row seat to the fireworks exhibit the remaining Eltos are putting on. Through balls of dye and their electrical powers, they're quickly blowing up the sky with arcs of color that rain down in the form of bright pieces of glitter once the spectacle is over. They also have a special service they're offering -- the Eltos have a grasp on electrical magic, which means they can draw certain things in the sky with these dye balls. If you have a request for a written message or a drawing of some sort, they'd be happy to comply with your wish! For the real adult experience, however, you may want to check out the large rolling cart that Palai are pushing around the marketplace, landing it in the fireworks area. This cart is filled with all of the eggs that were a product of their mating season, and this part of Aimintas is the warmest.

Finally, the Palai are getting used to the standard familiar faces, so they aren't unaware that there are quite a few new faces in the mix. Based on how familiar your character is, they'll receive a nice little gift from the Palai. Older coven members will receive a scrolled parchment that lists them as honorary citizens of Aimintas and a handmade, harden clay sculpture of their likeness. It may not look a lot like them, but they tried.
G ▢ Because the Palai recognize new faces, these new coven members will be dragged to other coven members who they do recognize. In an effort to help make introductions, the Palai are trying to connect new members with old members in order to foster friendships. Say hi to a new, awkwardly introduced covenmate...? H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

[ Valko stands in front of the Shock Shrimp game, looking unimpressed. He doesn't want to be at this festival in the first place, and this is just making it worse. Dead shrimp, really? Disgusting. He crinkles his nose at the very idea, watching them fly up into the air. The Palai are trying to get him to join, but he keeps refusing. ]
I don't see the point in catching them. Besides, I have plenty of gold coins at home.
[ Maybe he ought to move on to one of the other games. ]
[ This is something Valko is more accustomed to, receiving gifts. He takes his Starter Kit and kind of stands off to the side to look through the contents. Once again he crinkles his nose at the shrimp, quickly moving along. He looks at the paper flower for a few seconds and sets it aside, pulls out the baked goods and shrugs at them, and then pulls out the unmarked vial last. He gives it a little shake and raises an eyebrow. ]
What, they make it this easy to poison your enemies here?
[ He turns the vial around in his hand and then pops the top off it, giving it a whiff. The smell alone is enough to make him back up a couple of spaces, blinking a few times. Woah. Whatever it is, it's powerful stuff. Hopefully no one saw that. ]
[ Valko doesn't appreciate being dragged around, yanking his arm away from the Palai once they stop walking. He indignantly fixes his sleeve and then finally eyes who he's been placed in front of. He frowns at first, reluctant to give in to this form of meeting and greeting. ]
This isn't normally how I greet people.
[ He's used to more pomp and circumstance, more respect shown. That is, how do you just randomly meet people? He's very awkward at it, and trying to hide that awkwardness by looking dignified, tugging on the front of his finely embroidered kaftan. ] ... Hello.
[ Valko is generally wandering around the festivities, looking either lost or offended. Feel free to come up with your own prompt in running into him! ]
f
You also had no way of knowing if it was an inhalable poison, so...ease on both sides, I suppose? But don't worry, you won't die.
no subject
I suppose I didn't. I hadn't thought of that. [ This is why he's supposed to have an Auraseer with him to keep him out of danger. ] You know what this is, then?
no subject
A sort of romantic potion. It's the time of year when our hosts like to pair off, and they've been trying to get us involved...the effects on us are harmless, just predictably embarrassing.
no subject
... Oh. Well I have no need for such a thing. [ he glances at the vial again. ] You say the effects are embarrassing... does that mean you've tried it?
no subject
...you're new here, aren't you? You got kidnapped here too. Why does Qri keep doing this?
no subject
[ a nod then ] I've just arrived.Such a thing is common? Then someone must know the way home.
no subject
[he doesn't comment on Valko taking the vial. as long as he doesn't use it on Vern himself, it's his business, not Vern's.]
Good luck with the finding-the-way-home part, though. That's been awfully cryptic, or most of us wouldn't still be here.
no subject
[ he frowns, pushing his lips out a little ] Really? Not a single person has figured it out yet? Perhaps they're not trying the correct approach.
no subject
[he shrugs, a tiny bit]
Perhaps not, but I would say several approaches have been at least looked into. Our kidnapper isn't a very present...presence, though, and few of us have actual experience with being pulled between realms and worlds, so that makes it a lot more difficult to get much traction.
no subject
[ or maybe he has and doesn't know it? the thought makes him frown a little. ]
... Well that's just great. I need to negotiate my return home as soon as possible. I'll be needed there, urgently.
no subject
[he's really not.]
And I mean, you can try? I tried to tip over the caravan wagon we have around since I think that's got some kind of connection to her, but I just got stuck to it by magic for a while.
G
[He is more than little amused. His tone is light. Shiro holds up a hand to the Palai.]
We can handle it from here, thank you. [Once their lizard friends retreat he sighs.] If it helps, they're the tamest I've seen so far. If you stick to hanging around other Coven members they will probably leave you be.
no subject
[ He remembers his name because he was the first helpful person Valko met in this damned place. He watches the lizard person slink off and almost sneers at it. ]
The tamest? You're joking. [ He sighs, brushing off his kaftan again. ] I haven't been doing the greatest keeping close to others. It feels...awkward.
no subject
Who knows what they'll become. But I doubt it will be anything terrible. [His expression turns a little distant as he looks back at the Palai. In his mind's eye he can see the Galra fleets hovering over the world ready to strip it of any resources. Or worse, enslaving the people for their magics.]
They're borrowing technologies from others. Without us around they won't see space for...who knows how long.
no subject
You seem to know them well. You've taken an interest in them. [ he folds his hands behind his back, looking out around them for a moment before back at Shiro. ] If they have a good leader, they'll become great too.
[ it's all about the leader in his biased opinion. ] And it's not so bad borrowing technology from others. I wonder what these people would do up in space, though?
no subject
[He glances back at Valko as he continues his voice a little lower.]
Who knows what they'd do. Right now I'm just glad for a peaceful place to learn what we can and get used to our present circumstances. That's better than I'd have hoped for.
no subject
[ it's almost a little scary to think of what those "mistakes" could be. he frowns and shakes his head a little.
but then Shiro does make a good point. ]
It could have been worse, coming here. I just wish the timing was different. I'm not really in the mood to be exploring my new situation.
no subject
...with magical abilities. Some more difficult than others. [He has stopped tripping over his own feet in his other form. But it's still tricky.]
I keep hearing we might be expecting an attack later. Did you hear anything about the Uvi?
