[WORLD ONE | SEPTEMBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members, old blood & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repurcussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What you may not know is that this world recently experienced something of a tragedy. You wouldn't be able to guess this based on the festive energy in the air. The main marketplace where you've shown up finished reconstruction last night, and after grief comes joy to the Palai -- those lizard creatures you see wandering around. They're now hosting a festival to celebrate their success and the lives of those both still present and those lost. It's also a chance for them to host one of those big celebrations like they'd previously seen in human books. However, their resources are limited -- don't blame them if things are a little cut-and-paste!
|

This is all pretty juvenile, but fear not! For the mature sort and adults of Aimintas, there's a more quiet part set up that may cater to your older interests. A softer atmosphere, away from the excitement of things. If you want to wind down from the thrill of being magicked away to a new world, this is probably the best way for it.
D ▢ The environment in this more secluded area of the marketplace is supposed to be more relaxed, but it's also the best place to sit if you want a front row seat to the fireworks exhibit the remaining Eltos are putting on. Through balls of dye and their electrical powers, they're quickly blowing up the sky with arcs of color that rain down in the form of bright pieces of glitter once the spectacle is over. They also have a special service they're offering -- the Eltos have a grasp on electrical magic, which means they can draw certain things in the sky with these dye balls. If you have a request for a written message or a drawing of some sort, they'd be happy to comply with your wish! For the real adult experience, however, you may want to check out the large rolling cart that Palai are pushing around the marketplace, landing it in the fireworks area. This cart is filled with all of the eggs that were a product of their mating season, and this part of Aimintas is the warmest.
|

Finally, the Palai are getting used to the standard familiar faces, so they aren't unaware that there are quite a few new faces in the mix. Based on how familiar your character is, they'll receive a nice little gift from the Palai. Older coven members will receive a scrolled parchment that lists them as honorary citizens of Aimintas and a handmade, harden clay sculpture of their likeness. It may not look a lot like them, but they tried.
G ▢ Because the Palai recognize new faces, these new coven members will be dragged to other coven members who they do recognize. In an effort to help make introductions, the Palai are trying to connect new members with old members in order to foster friendships. Say hi to a new, awkwardly introduced covenmate...? H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

no subject
[Or to complain. Which this definitely is.
Souda flails his hands a little though he should probably lift his face soon enough. But here they're having such a nice conversation and the moment he looks, he's going to freak out. So laying prone it is.]
no subject
You could be giving your dying speech. These are some pretty lousy last words, though! And I don't see your grieving second in command and wife and grandkids anywhere. I guess you must be alive.
[Geir considers. the stranger seems pretty tired. it's been five days since the last time he used his Qri-granted powers, and while he was awfully wiped out for the first couple of days after overusing them, he thinks his aching bones could stand giving a tiny boost to one single human... so he concentrates. Souda might feel a very mild sensation of energy returning to him, like the barest hint of a second wind after a long day's work.]
--there. Is that better?
1/2
[Whoa what was that?? Souda blinks into the ground and he shifts a little, as though testing something out. Oh. He feels all right.]
What'd you do--
[He's lifting up to look at his new mystery friend and--]
no subject
[SCREAMS AND FALLS OVER BACKWARD because that's a big dragon!!!]
no subject
--that's not a good last dying word either! Probably more common, though.
no subject
There's no way I'd react any other way, oi! You think I was expectin' to look up and see a dragon?!
no subject
I wasn't expecting to see a man eating mud either, so that makes two of us! Hey, hey, did you just get here? Welcome to Aimintas!
[oh man being on this side of the welcoming committee is great]
no subject
muttermutter grumble] But yeah, I guess I just got here! [How one can make that sound so offended, it's a talent.]
no subject
Guess we're part of the same coven now, then. ♪ It's nice to meet you!
[he's accustomed enough to meeting people by now to know that he's playing by the script correctly; his attitude is almost daring Souda to break the unspoken social rules and react more to him being a dragon.]
no subject
In the same-- I didn't agree to this, y'know!
[He didn't agree to this... this DRAGON.] I mean, how are you-- why are you a dragon? [good great ask the dragon why he's a dragon that makes sense, Souda]
no subject
--call me Geir, by the way.
[Geir lowers his head to peer at Souda from first eye, then the other, birdlike. he's still amused, but he figures he's probably actively teased Souda enough. he does want to be genuinely helpful in addition to entertaining himself today.]
And don't worry about it! None of us agreed to anything. We all got summoned here suddenly, the same as you.
no subject
...Souda. [He does actually give his name back, though he leans back at that eye peering at him from so close. BIG. Big dragon. Dragons are big anyway, but still, he's never met a dragon!]
Even you? They even bring dragons 'n stuff here?
no subject
[Geir huffs to himself -- really, it's still annoying that Qri was able to do that when he thinks about it, even if he's not exactly upset to be here. he moves on after a moment, though.]
Anyway, you don't have to feel weird about it. You can be mad if you want, though. Qri's not exactly telling us how to get home if we want to. Or... talking to us. At all.
no subject
I'm mad! I was madder earlier, but I'm still mad now. Ugh, we just finished gettin' everything sorted back where I'm from...
[He groans.]
But Qri never talks to us ever? Not even a bit? What the hell.
no subject
[Qri is the most annoying element of Geir's existence here, honestly. how is he supposed to have respect for her power if she won't show her face? how is he supposed to decide if he wants to go along with her plans or not if he can't talk to her? what the heck is her plan even all about, with the weird energy she's losing? all questions he can't answer, and Geir hates questions he can't answer.
in fairness to the coven, though, Qri's absence doesn't come up much day-to-day. so he conscientiously adds that point.]
--everyone else is okay so far, though. Even the Palai.
no subject
The lizard people? They're...pretty friendly. [They even gave him stuff... everything is heckin weird but Souda's chugging along.]
Is everyone else in the coven really good? Nobody, like... you know, who's bad news? Crazy or wants to destroy everything or--?
no subject
he answers honestly.]
I don't know. Everyone's been nice to me. If they're destroying everything anytime soon, no one's mentioned it.
no subject
[Souda huffs and adds a vague explanation for why he asked:] Me'n my-- me'n the people I know just finished dealing with someone like that. So, you know, I ain't in a hurry to repeat it. I gotta get back, but I guess the timing could be worse for dragging me off somewhere new...
[But he still doesn't know what to do here at all. Where's Hinata when you need him?!]
no subject
What did you do to them? Um... the person who was destroying everything. Just wondering.
I mean, it's still dangerous here. The Uvi keep attacking. Some of the sharks try to bite you even if they can't get through your scales. We don't know what's going on with the barrier up past the water. Things are weird.
no subject
[Explaining this is hard when you don't know what the other party knows... He gives Geir a look, however.]
I don't got scales to protect me, so guess I'm just gonna stick where everyone is so I don't gotta deal with weird stuff here.
no subject
in the meantime, Souda is smart to admit that he's a squishy, defenseless human. Geir approves of his honesty.]
It should be okay. We had a lot of people hide in the last attack. And now that they've got some of the barriers working, it'll be safer.
[he pauses for one last huff.]
I wish I knew how this was all getting the energy Qri needed, but...
[shrugs, a long shift of his spine and a twitch of the wings, and turns to look at Souda again.]
Have you looked around yet? This is a party, so it's the best that Aimintas'll probably look for a while.
no subject
Eh, not really... Showing up here suddenly didn't make me wanna party.
[But.] Did you find anything good?
no subject
[he hesitates, looking out over the party too...]
If you're hungry, we could find something, but there's not that much except shrimp.
no subject
[Souda demands in lieu of asking...
He bounds to his feet at once, dusting off his yellow jumpsuit with quick slaps of his hands against the fabric.]
no subject
Ha! Not scared of me any more, are you.
[he's kind of smug about that, actually. it worked out. he turns to head through the city streets towards the coven house, glancing back over his shoulder to make sure Soudha is following.]
C'mon, it's this way. I can't take any shortcuts 'cause they're all too small.
