[WORLD ONE | SEPTEMBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members, old blood & Palai people
Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repurcussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.

Where: In and around the city land of Aimintas
When: Day 61
Open/Closed: Open to All

This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What you may not know is that this world recently experienced something of a tragedy. You wouldn't be able to guess this based on the festive energy in the air. The main marketplace where you've shown up finished reconstruction last night, and after grief comes joy to the Palai -- those lizard creatures you see wandering around. They're now hosting a festival to celebrate their success and the lives of those both still present and those lost. It's also a chance for them to host one of those big celebrations like they'd previously seen in human books. However, their resources are limited -- don't blame them if things are a little cut-and-paste!

This is all pretty juvenile, but fear not! For the mature sort and adults of Aimintas, there's a more quiet part set up that may cater to your older interests. A softer atmosphere, away from the excitement of things. If you want to wind down from the thrill of being magicked away to a new world, this is probably the best way for it.
D ▢ The environment in this more secluded area of the marketplace is supposed to be more relaxed, but it's also the best place to sit if you want a front row seat to the fireworks exhibit the remaining Eltos are putting on. Through balls of dye and their electrical powers, they're quickly blowing up the sky with arcs of color that rain down in the form of bright pieces of glitter once the spectacle is over. They also have a special service they're offering -- the Eltos have a grasp on electrical magic, which means they can draw certain things in the sky with these dye balls. If you have a request for a written message or a drawing of some sort, they'd be happy to comply with your wish! For the real adult experience, however, you may want to check out the large rolling cart that Palai are pushing around the marketplace, landing it in the fireworks area. This cart is filled with all of the eggs that were a product of their mating season, and this part of Aimintas is the warmest.

Finally, the Palai are getting used to the standard familiar faces, so they aren't unaware that there are quite a few new faces in the mix. Based on how familiar your character is, they'll receive a nice little gift from the Palai. Older coven members will receive a scrolled parchment that lists them as honorary citizens of Aimintas and a handmade, harden clay sculpture of their likeness. It may not look a lot like them, but they tried.
G ▢ Because the Palai recognize new faces, these new coven members will be dragged to other coven members who they do recognize. In an effort to help make introductions, the Palai are trying to connect new members with old members in order to foster friendships. Say hi to a new, awkwardly introduced covenmate...? H ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world? |

[ then jude is grasping alvin by the wrist and pulling him along until they're in the midst of the crowd. jude has to stand on his tiptoes to see what everyone is waiting for, but —
then the fireworks start, and he's positively enraptured. he's never seen anything like it. not in rieze maxia, not in elympios. jude is silent for a long moment, staring at the explosions of color bursting before his eyes and listening to the excited chatter of the palai surrounding them. ]
... Wow.
no subject
instead, a noise from the sky draws his gaze upwards and for a moment he's speechless. the bright colors light the sky in a flash, illuminating everything around it. one after another different sparks burst across the sky in a light show unlike anything he'd ever seen.
jude has his hand, so he's not worried about the other losing his balance, but he's staying close to him. don't want to lose him here.
this is... nice.]
no subject
he only sneaks a glance at alvin when he realizes he hasn't said anything, hasn't spoken a word, stopped teasing him mercilessly. it's almost surprising when he sees alvin looking just as breathless as he is.
the silence is comfortable, and jude redirects his attention. one starburst after the other, and when the grand finale starts, specks of glitter start to rain down from the sky. jude doesn't realize that quite a bit of it is fluttering down to dust the crown of his head. ]
no subject
that's when he noticed the glitter catching on jude's hair. in the light it's practically sparkling.
he reaches up and teases one of the pieces of hair sticking out to the side with a small grin on his face; some of the glitter falling off and other pieces clinging to his thumb and forefinger.]
no subject
... Thanks.
[ and then, with one last big boom, the fireworks are over. just like that. ]
no subject
[he'd tried to go undetected but, well-- that didn't work. no reason to bother now.
well, since it's over now--]
Turn here and close your eyes.
no subject
[ jude squints in confusion, but he does what he's told, turning to face alvin as his eyes flicker shut. the thought crosses his mind that there's some degree of slowly but surely rebuilt trust involved with allowing himself to let his guard down around him like this.
and he's grateful that he... no, they haven't lost that. ]
no subject
his hair's a little more wild when he's finished, but decidedly less glittery.]
There. You should be good now.
1/2
My hero.
[ jude rolls his eyes, still smiling. ]
... So?
[ so. he doesn't know that he wants to go home quite yet. there's been so much death and destruction and disaster and the celebration is exactly what he needs, exactly what everyone needs, despite having been a little overstimulated just before running into alvin. ]
2/2
Alvin, you don't have a place to stay, do you?
[ it took jude a little while to find housing himself — until he did, he just crashed anywhere he could. surely alvin is going through the same frustrating experience. ]
no subject
So.
[he wasn't sure where jude was going with this. he was probably still a little affected from the drinks earlier. but looking at him, he has a sense that it's coming. so he gives the younger man some time to put his thoughts together and--
...not what he was expecting.]
Can't get anything past you. Guess I hadn't given it a lot of thought yet.
[it's fine, he's used to making due with whatever he can find.]
no subject
[ alvin never, never asks for help, and he's not the type to so easily accept it, either. but... ]
And before you protest, I'm not taking no for an answer.
[ he's using his Stern Doctor Mathis voice. how can you resist that, huh? ]
no subject
but he does. and he knows he might regret it.
still, he hears that tone and he doubts any weak excuse he could make up would get past this kid.]
Guess I don't have much of a choice then.
[no taking it back now.]
no subject
Nope. None at all.
Come on. Let's go home.
[ jude can keep his balance, now. there's no reason to stay so close to alvin, but the comfort of having a friend from home here with him when so many things have been going wrong is just... too much for him to resist. and if alvin isn't pushing him away? then jude isn't backing off. ]
By the way, I was thinking...
[ he hums in thought, absentmindedly swinging alvin's arm between the two of them. at some point, his hand moved from his wrist to a loose thread through the cracks between his fingers. ]
no subject
jude was incredibly capable, there was no doubt. and he probably made at least half a dozen new friends, no trouble. but he'd still probably felt alone without any of the others there.
so he can't deny him this small indulgence.
home though... heh.
he's such an idiot.]
Mmm? [that got his attention.] About what?
no subject
What do you think about Spyrite?
no subject
[you always do.
but seriously--]
That's a nice name.
1/2
but something tells him that deep down there's a deeper meaning behind those words all the same, and it just isn't the time to address it. not right now. ]
Spyrite it is, then. A little something to remind us of home.
[ it doesn't take long for them to reach jude's small house. it's pretty bare-boned, but at the very least there's already an unused second bed waiting. ]
We'll get you set up tomorrow. For now...
[ jude releases alvin's hand to yawn and stretch. ]
2/2
[ jude doesn't wait for a response. ]
Thanks. For tonight. It was the most fun I've had in awhile.
... Even if you did enable me into underage drinking.
1/2
well. no use dwelling on it.]
2/2
Alright, alright. Time for good honor students to go to bed.
[before you do though--]
You still took the first drink though.
no subject
[ alvin didn't offer up his own drink, but details, details. ]
Not a student anymore, by the way.
[ jude just had to get that one last jab in before shutting off the light and crawling into bed. ]
