There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

Many efforts have been made to help rebuild Aimintas, which has become a little bit water-logged and bloodied after the confrontation a few days previously. The Palai are fully capable of rebuilding their own city on their own, but with coven members around and willing to help, hopefully the repairs that need to be done can be completed much more quickly. The marketplace is quite expansive, which is both good and bad when it comes to coven involvement. While the areas that need to be repaired are expansive, this creates the opportunity for most coven members to help rebuild in some way or another. With everyone taking responsibility for a task, the work can get done much more quickly. Aside from the repairs, many Palai are still in mourning. Because this incident happened during their mating season, many Palai are essentially shut out of reproduction or are going to potentially lay eggs a month from now without one of their previously supposed parents. The demeanor around the marketplace is glum for this reason, though the steadfast species is certainly not giving up. A ▢ Because some Palai families were killed in their entirety, the hatchery is being cleaned out. There is a big discussion in the marketplace with those responsible for taking care of eggs making sure they have the future Palai youth properly sorted. Those eggs that are orphaned have mostly been handed out to Palai family units, though there are some left over. Because the Palai trust the coven members as stronger and more capable to protect their eggs than they are right now, these eggs are being handed out to them instead of doubling up already child-bearing families. Are you willing to take an egg? B ▢ Half of the battle when it comes to rebuilding the marketplace will be the large quantities of standing water in certain stalls and enclosed spaces. Some of the Uvi's ocean masses burst or were used as a sort of liquid smoke grenade for defensive measures -- some water was absorbed into the dirt in outdoor eating areas, but a lot of it is stuck in businesses, suites and other rooms. The Palai have buckets, but they sure could use a hand getting this stuff out of here. C ▢ From slamming large sharks into the front of stone store fronts to stabbing down doors without barriers, the Uvi certainly did a number on Aimintas. Stone fixtures are certainly more difficult to repair, though the Palai have concocted a cement paste that they're using to help fill in seams. The biggest issue to deal with here is that water-logged and damaged wood needs to be hauled away or destroyed (safely!). At the same time, new wood needs to be installed to doors and stalls, and tables need to be rebuilt in order to return the majority of shops to well-working order. D ▢ Working hard isn't the only task at hand, either. There are Palai in restaurants and eateries that ARE mostly functional, hard at work preparing canteens and food sacks that need to be passed out to workers expending so much energy for their city. This also means the return of their energy drink (see TDM #2, Prompt E). This can cause hallucinations, power malfunctions and extreme giddiness and euphoria, for those who didn't experience this drink the last time it made the rounds. E ▢ Another "low-level" task focuses on keeping the younger Palai entertained and out from under the feet of those who are working hard to repair the city. The hatchery is being emptied for repairs, so one of the more untouched open-air areas of the marketplace is now a makeshift daycare. There are obviously Palai helping to attend to the children, but there are a lot of them -- some are more docile and easy to entertain, others scuttle out of the enclosure and try to help the coven with their chores. This may or may not go well...have you made a new little friend? F ▢ More detail-oriented coven members can help with the management side of things. These tasks can include restocking and carting a round food stuffs (produce, shrimp, other food goods), getting rid of damaged goods (some of these are only slightly damaged, so maybe you can get some discounted, barely working merchandise), and redecorating storefronts. This work is great for those who aren't as good at physical labor and still want to help. G ▢ Most of the Palai who were put up against the Uvi found themselves fatally wounded, though there were some lucky lizards out there. One of the other open-air areas of the marketplace is essentially a medic tent, which serves as both a makeshift hospital for coven members and Palai alike who are still nursing Uvi wounds, as well as a first aid station for any rebuilding-related injuries. Healers would definitely be appreciated! H ▢ Wildcard!

[As it happens, Xion is spending a lot of her time in the marketplace. It's... where she's most useful, for obvious reasons. Wherever she sees Palai with buckets, she goes over and pulls the water up off the ground, cleaning the area more thoroughly than simple scooping could do, if a bit more slowly.

She also has a tendency to sometimes leave things behind, like fish or salt, which'll need to be discarded or swept up later.

Then of course, there's the fact that she has a large round object tucked into a sling she's wrapped over one shoulder. A large round object that she keeps looking down at periodically with wide eyes and stiff shoulders.]

[No matter what she told herself, the thoughts kept coming back, whenever she had a moment's rest or time to herself. During the battle, she'd barely used her Keyblade at all. Sure, she hadn't like... neglected it or anything. But her first instinct had been to use her water abilities to disrupt the enemy.

Eventually, the question reaches out to network, almost unbidden.]

This is probably a weird or bad time but... does anybody feel like they... like they like their powers, more than they should?

[Ugh, no no no. They have enough going on right now. There's so much to do and the Palai are mourning so many people, and... and she'd have to explain to anybody who asks and she isn't even sure she can do that to herself.]

( Having magic related to setting things on fire while also being in a Big Mood isn't exactly a great combination.

Destroying all this water damaged wood proves simple when you can control it bursting into flame, emitting almost as much steam as it does smoke. There's a lot of wood to destroy, so his bonfire is actually quite large -- enough so that Palai have just started tossing in whatever destroyed goods need to be gotten rid of.

While helpful, the fire itself is starting to get a tiny bit out of hand, perhaps unwittingly. At this point, Emil's propping up a wall and resting his eyes, so maybe poke him and...does he even know how to put fires out yet?? Help?? )

( Time for more work that's not particularly hard. At the very least he's being helpful -- Emil has a large canvas bag that contains a variety of different food stuffs, from parchment covered shrimp wraps to those strangely coloured energy drinks that sound like they crackle before you even open their pouch. He got roped into this job after going to get something to drink from one of the restaurants, and now he's sharing the wealth. )

Here, ( He extends one of the strange drink pouches, wagging it slightly so you know to take it, ) you should probably drink this.

( After eventually returning to actual hard labor, Emil had a bit of a slip with one of the large bone-crafted saws the Palai were using to make new, unruined furniture with. It's not an especially bad wound, but one that needs some attention outside of simply ignoring it -- and he's also a tiny bit of a drama queen. He's immediately concerned about the blood dripping from the gash in his forearm and stinging from the pain.

A few Palai surround him as he enters the medical area, eager to take a look at the wound he's holding in the air, wrapped in a cloth he got from one of the shopkeepers. No, no lizard is going to give him first-aid. He spots a human, so he'll approach them instead )

Uhm, can you please take a look at this...? ( please don't need stitches, please don't need stitches )

( Rounding out his day by being given an egg...well, okay. At first Emil is a bit apprehensive, but then he thinks about how this is the start of a Palai life and he's essentially convinced. The responsibility of Palai parenthood will eventually hit him like bricks, but for now he's pretty invigorated by the idea of taking care of his egg, despite the day being so murky.

Egg-sitting isn't exactly up Emil's alley, but he isn't a total lost cause -- he's been gifted a sturdy piece of fabric that he's trying to make into some kind of egg sling for the time being, but the problem is that this god damn thing is round and thus keeps slipping and rolling out of the cloth as he tries to manipula--

Oh shit, there it goes again. Please take mercy on his egg baby and not kick it or anything, even though it just rolled over to say hello? )

[The aftermath of the battle isn't pretty, the marketplace is a mess, the buildings are a mess... and there are Palai trying to recover even now. Just as she is. Haru pays no mind to the bandages on her healing gashes as she starts helping around. Being careful, but being helpful.

At some point earlier that day, one of the Palai adults had spoken with her about taking an egg with her. She very well couldn't refuse as it was the least she could do to help the Palai feel safe about their young. So she definitely 100% has an egg in a baby wrap (rucksack style) on her back.

She'll approach if anyone looks like they need help.]

[Later on, Haru and her egg can be found going through the food supply. She's looking for expiration dates and thinks that were damaged in the fray. It's sad to have to throw things out... but hey, at least it wasn't the majority?

Haru can also be found at the bakery that's in the marketplace, redecorating their storefront. IT's going to look as good as new when she's done!]

See, all we need to do now is sweep! It will be as good as new!

[Oh, an egg! Moon notices it before she notices where it came from. She has her own, though it's currently being held by Razzle, who's following behind her--Razzle is a fire-type, and eggs need to be kept warm! Moon crouches down to pick up the egg.]

Oh, hello, where did you come from? [Patting the egg gently, she looks around.] Did someone lose an egg?

Waver had sat out the previous fight. He wasn't equipped for that kind of combat, and knew he'd be more of a burden than an advantage in that kind of a raid. But what he could do was help with the rebuilding, even if it was just something mindless, like mopping up water and moving buckets.

He was quiet as he worked, rather than complaining that his hands were starting to get sore or else his back was starting to hurt. Waver, instead, seemed overly focused on the task at hand, and only spoke when he needed something.

"Can I get a new bucket? This one's full."

"Okay, someone give me something else."

Waver's hands had decided that you know what? You're done. We're going to cramp up and be in pain from being in one position and constantly moving water. So he ended up in a place where he'd mostly just be standing around and hopefully acting like a weird human sheep dog and corralling some of the Palai kids who tried to get out of the makeshift daycare area.

That hadn't happened. What happened instead was Waver tried to distract one of the runaways with a wall of smoke, only to get crowded around by a sea of kids demanding that he make this, that, or something else with his powers.

That suited Waver just fine. It forced him to work on his abilities, and he now had a captive audience. Between his hands hovered a fairly good approximation of a tuna fish, and within seconds, it became a shrimp.

"There, two very different fish. Anyone else?"

His hands still hurt, but whatever.

[In truth, Waver was over by the medic tents because one of the Palai kids in the makeshift daycare had cut themselves and you know, a little first aid kit would probably be a good thing to have on hand over there so that little stuff could get taken are of pretty quickly.

Emil's a surprise. And so is the cloth over his forearm. Waver frowns, unsure why he's getting this question and not, you know, an actual doctor.]

[Madoka has a very young brother, so she's right at home wrangling children — though, she's probably also a lot more tired than she lets on, so ... any quiet activity she can convince the gaggle of Palai she's been put in charge of to partake in is a relief to her.]

[so, folding paper cranes it is — it isn't the first time she's taught this to the Palai, but they seem enthusiastic all the same. she's seated next to a decently sized stack of notebooks, and a similar stack of papers that she's trimmed to the perfect folding size — and she's just talking as she walks them through the steps.]

... And the story goes, if you fold a thousand of these yourself, you might just have a wish of yours come true.

[have a seat next to Madoka, and she'll smile, and hand over a small stack of papers.] Are you hoping to make a wish, too?

[wishes are important to her, after all.]

[the medical tent is another place where she's in her element, as she's able to heal. though, because of the hard limit on her healing magic, she's hanging on to it until someone severely injured is brought in. is that person you?]

[that being said, Madoka's learned a lot — probably, unfortunately, more than she ever could have expected — about first aid these past few days. she can set broken bones. she can stitch up deep wounds. she has a newfound knack for cleaning and bandaging pretty much anything.]

[she may not have the experience that others do, but she's calm and determined, and ready to help out anybody who passes through.]

Thar's mine. These things are nearly impossible to keep still. ( THat big lizard seems to be doing an okay job, but it's kindred so it has an excuse. )

[Moon holds it out for him. Please don't drop it as soon as you get it back...] It's not too bad once you get used to it! I've raised Pokemon from eggs before, so I don't think it can be too different.

[After it hatches, then it will be different, but right now...]

( He takes it gingerly, holding it as close to his body as possible. It just sucks to have to have both arms full to lug this thing around, but the damn thing keeps rolling off on the ground.

Mmm, what sort of experience does she have, now? )

Poke... -- ah, some kind of chicken breed? ( Oh boy, more farm folk. ) Those eggs are certainly much smaller. I think I might be able to get away with carrying one of those around in my pocket if I was careful enough.

( Totally irrelevant, but he wouldn't be. )

Oh, no, like her. [Moon gestures back to Razzle.] It could be dangerous keeping it in your pocket if another Uvi attack happens all of the sudden. [Smashed egg...]

( Hang out in a medic tent, get mistaken for a medic. What do you expect?

Similarly, Waver is also a surprise -- not that he knows the guy from Adam, essentially, but he didn't expect him to be a medic for some reason. Guess it just never came up. Pretty hesitant for a doctor though; are you squeamish buddy?? )

I think this needs some gauze. ( He cautiously lifts the cloth, exposing a deep but clean cut. The cloth is bloodstained and he covers the injury as quickly as he can to prevent more of it from getting everywhere. ) Probably just some of that and a bandage though! Nothing more extreme is necessary!

( If he has to get stitches he'll burn this place to the ground. )

( He looks back to the large black and purple lizard standing there, clutching that egg much better than Emil ever could. Connecting the dots here is...tricky. )

That's...not a chicken. ( This seems so obvious to him?? Lost doesn't even begin to cover it, what are you talking about. )

[He was just being a responsible adult for a score of lizard children. As one does. Waver, mercifully, doesn't recoil when he sees the cut, but it is well.

It is bad. He frowns at that overly apparent and plain fact.]

I think you need an actual doctor and not just me, who's walking by right now to get some bandaids.

[But there is one thing that's pretty clear.]

That needs more than just gauze though.

[Honestly, the only reason Moon even knows what a chicken is is that she has a book of animals.] No, she's a Pokemon. Pokemon are animals from my world. Her species is called a Salazzle, but her name's Razzle.

[Razzle is watching Emil. She seems calm enough, but she's one of the wariest of Moon's team.]

[ jude calls out to her in a soft voice so he doesn't startle her, peering at her through the flaps in the tent. ]

Don't worry; it's just me. Is it okay if I talk to you for a bit?

( Apologizing for the question at first seems strange to Emil, but after actually considering the question honestly -- he gets it. It feels strange being self-thinking when so much is going on around them that's larger than themselves. )

I guess so. I don't like that I have magic, but I like what it does...if that makes sense.

( It doesn't exactly relate to Xion's own situation, but at least the conclusion is the same. )

( Ah...okay, that makes much more sense. These words sound really strange to him, and trying to pronounce them...nah, let's not even try. )

That's strange. ( Eyeing the Pokemon as much as it's eyeing him. ) And these things lay eggs? You know how to take care of them?

( How much advice can he milk, is the real question. )

Yes! All Pokemon lay eggs. [Pokemon biology makes no sense!] I'm a Pokemon trainer, so I work with Pokemon a lot at home.

( Oh...well that's embarrassing, showing an acquaintance a bleeding, nasty wound. He'll just, uh, make sure that's covered up really well.

And he can't even bitterly retort about how he shouldn't be in a medical tent since he explained why. Damn you, Waver!!! )

I'll have to get a real medical opinion, then, since I'm sure this just needs a wrap or two. Nothing more! ( Let him live in denial. )

How exactly do you take care of them, then? What do you need to do?

( As far as he's concerned, an egg is an egg -- pohkeemon or not. )

[Waver pauses, looking from Emil to the train of Palai behind him, then back to Emil. Is it just a distrust of lizards right now that's got him shoving a wound at people?

He then sighs, deciding that okay, he can do without being surrounded by lizard children for a few minutes.]

Do you want me to stick around or something?

With Pokemon eggs, you need to keep them warm and carry them around with you. Razzle is half fire type, so she's helping out. [Moon smiles at Razzle, who flicks her tongue out, as lizards do.] There are actually some Pokemon who can help eggs hatch earlier, but I don't have any of those kinds with me.
