There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

Many efforts have been made to help rebuild Aimintas, which has become a little bit water-logged and bloodied after the confrontation a few days previously. The Palai are fully capable of rebuilding their own city on their own, but with coven members around and willing to help, hopefully the repairs that need to be done can be completed much more quickly. The marketplace is quite expansive, which is both good and bad when it comes to coven involvement. While the areas that need to be repaired are expansive, this creates the opportunity for most coven members to help rebuild in some way or another. With everyone taking responsibility for a task, the work can get done much more quickly. Aside from the repairs, many Palai are still in mourning. Because this incident happened during their mating season, many Palai are essentially shut out of reproduction or are going to potentially lay eggs a month from now without one of their previously supposed parents. The demeanor around the marketplace is glum for this reason, though the steadfast species is certainly not giving up. A ▢ Because some Palai families were killed in their entirety, the hatchery is being cleaned out. There is a big discussion in the marketplace with those responsible for taking care of eggs making sure they have the future Palai youth properly sorted. Those eggs that are orphaned have mostly been handed out to Palai family units, though there are some left over. Because the Palai trust the coven members as stronger and more capable to protect their eggs than they are right now, these eggs are being handed out to them instead of doubling up already child-bearing families. Are you willing to take an egg? B ▢ Half of the battle when it comes to rebuilding the marketplace will be the large quantities of standing water in certain stalls and enclosed spaces. Some of the Uvi's ocean masses burst or were used as a sort of liquid smoke grenade for defensive measures -- some water was absorbed into the dirt in outdoor eating areas, but a lot of it is stuck in businesses, suites and other rooms. The Palai have buckets, but they sure could use a hand getting this stuff out of here. C ▢ From slamming large sharks into the front of stone store fronts to stabbing down doors without barriers, the Uvi certainly did a number on Aimintas. Stone fixtures are certainly more difficult to repair, though the Palai have concocted a cement paste that they're using to help fill in seams. The biggest issue to deal with here is that water-logged and damaged wood needs to be hauled away or destroyed (safely!). At the same time, new wood needs to be installed to doors and stalls, and tables need to be rebuilt in order to return the majority of shops to well-working order. D ▢ Working hard isn't the only task at hand, either. There are Palai in restaurants and eateries that ARE mostly functional, hard at work preparing canteens and food sacks that need to be passed out to workers expending so much energy for their city. This also means the return of their energy drink (see TDM #2, Prompt E). This can cause hallucinations, power malfunctions and extreme giddiness and euphoria, for those who didn't experience this drink the last time it made the rounds. E ▢ Another "low-level" task focuses on keeping the younger Palai entertained and out from under the feet of those who are working hard to repair the city. The hatchery is being emptied for repairs, so one of the more untouched open-air areas of the marketplace is now a makeshift daycare. There are obviously Palai helping to attend to the children, but there are a lot of them -- some are more docile and easy to entertain, others scuttle out of the enclosure and try to help the coven with their chores. This may or may not go well...have you made a new little friend? F ▢ More detail-oriented coven members can help with the management side of things. These tasks can include restocking and carting a round food stuffs (produce, shrimp, other food goods), getting rid of damaged goods (some of these are only slightly damaged, so maybe you can get some discounted, barely working merchandise), and redecorating storefronts. This work is great for those who aren't as good at physical labor and still want to help. G ▢ Most of the Palai who were put up against the Uvi found themselves fatally wounded, though there were some lucky lizards out there. One of the other open-air areas of the marketplace is essentially a medic tent, which serves as both a makeshift hospital for coven members and Palai alike who are still nursing Uvi wounds, as well as a first aid station for any rebuilding-related injuries. Healers would definitely be appreciated! H ▢ Wildcard!

[Waver pauses, looking from Emil to the train of Palai behind him, then back to Emil. Is it just a distrust of lizards right now that's got him shoving a wound at people?

He then sighs, deciding that okay, he can do without being surrounded by lizard children for a few minutes.]

Do you want me to stick around or something?

( He didn't mean it; please don't think of him as some weird, oozing wound weirdo!!! )

...If you want? I don't mind. ( Like he's got some power over who stays in the medical tent. Emil looks Waver up and down in the meantime, scrutinizing him closely. )

Are you hurt, too? What are the bandaids for?

No I'm seriously asking what your preference is.

Figured that it was better to have on hand in the not-a-daycare area in case one of the kids scratches themselves or something.

Actually, I'd prefer it if you stayed. ( He's feeling vulnerable right now, being alone sucks. ) Just because the Palai will swarm me otherwise and I don't know how long it will take for a human doctor to handle this.

...Huh. Hm, you know, I think you need to keep an eye out for another member of the coven. Have you met Madoka?

( No, that's The Best Egg. )

No, I haven't. Are they a doctor or medic? ( Where's Dr. Mathis when he needs him...actually do people around here have healing magic, that'd be great AND no stitches needed. )

Er, no? I just know she has healing magic, so that could just get you sorted. [Waver leans away, casting his eyes over the tent.]

Jeez, you think you'd be able to spot a girl with pink hair.

Pink hair...I shouldn't be surprised at this point. ( All these animes running around with anime hair. ) But no, I'm not aware of anyone with hair so bizarrely colored.

Healing magic would certainly be preferable to...anything else, though. ( Super quick, no scar! Heck yeah! )

For all I know, she dyes it. [Waver hasn't even registered hair as weird. But then again, he magically summoned Alexander the Great who's a giant muscle head, as you do, so he can't judge.]

If we can't find her in a few minutes though you should probably just get it taken care of. It can't be good to let it go unattended for much longer.

( Hair dye is also weird to him, so that goes nowhere for Emil. She certainly would be useful...as would that healer guy he met at speed dating or Dr. Mathis; where the fuck are the healers when you need them?? )

Uhm, I think if I put pressure of it for a while it should stop. ( He's still hopeful. ) Maybe if I could find some antiseptic first that would be better.

[No where. There are only lizards now, Emil. Lizards and possibly stitches.]

It looks pretty deep though. [Waver's eyes are still scanning the room though, but nothing. Nothing at all.] Does it not hurt that much or something?

It...it hurts. ( He's trying not to think about it; the cloth over it is allowing him to sort of mentally block it out. ) A lot, actually.

I know medics carry around little painkiller shots, but I'm not sure what you can do for things here. I'm more worried about closing it somehow -- I mean, with gauze or a long bandage!

[Waver's not trying to sound accusatory. He wants it to come off as genuine curiosity, but that's a 50-50 chance.]

What? No! It's not that...I'll get them if they're absolutely necessary. I just don't think they are, that's all!

( It's actually more accurate to say he's afraid of scarring his perfect, unblemished skin but needles are also bastards so. )

Have you actually gotten the opinion of an odd number of doctors to make that kind of decision?

[Waver's starting to write this all off as Emil is a big baby about stitches in his head. If he knew the real reason, then he'd just yell.]

Odd number? Isn't just one enough? What's the point of being a doctor if you have to have other doctors back you up?

That seems like a waste of time when one medic can do just as good a job. I don't want to deal with any more medical types than I have to.

[Waver groans, this is going in circles. He whips around, and crouches down to what he's guessing is one of the nurses.]

Could you go grab three doctors that have nothing else to do for a quick opinion, please?

( Wow, you aren't his mother, let him deal with his own shit. Emil crouches right afterwards. )

Just one is fine. I'm not a specimen to be poked and prodded at by as many professionals as you can find.

[Waver looks over at Emil, groaning.]

You're not fixing this by being stubborn you know! You're just going to be bleeding!

[This poor Palai is just going to get away from this argument. And probably ask what to do about two arguing humans first and foremost.]

Yes, and I would like to stop bleeding with the help of one capable doctor instead of three inept nitwits who need to ask each other if they're right or not!

Then suck it up about getting stitches because, and I will bet there's a 90% chance of it, you're gonna need them! I'm not even a doctor, I can just make an educated guess!
