Who: Anyone
Where: Anywhere
When: Day 41
Open/Closed: Open! Geir will tag responses to B only, but feel free to use any or all of these prompts for your own shenanigans ☆
A (the rain in Spain falls mainly on the...)
[you know that the strange seawater rainstorm at the festival two days ago flooded out the marketplace and part of the city. the question is, how far did that rain fall over the hard, sandy soil that surrounds the city of Aimintas? what kind of erosion happened? perhaps you have a hankering to go out and see the effect that the water had on the crags outside the city, or the humid plains covered with native plants. there are four directions to explore, north, south, east, and west: which way will you go and how will you get there? fliers and adventurers, take notice!]
B (how does your garden grow?)
[Geir, at least, is more worried about the plants in the farmed area. he doesn't know much about plants, but he has a vague idea that sowing fields with salt is something one does to one's enemies. since these plants are irrigated with freshwater, more salt rain is not likely to go well for them.
right now he's glaring at a small plot he's dug out out with his talons. he's seeded some of the bark from the strange shrubby filtration plant into it, trying to check if that will help the soil deal with the salt water, but he's run into a problem: there are no plants there yet.]
--can you plant seeds? My claws aren't small enough.
C (after the storm)
[the festival aside, there was a lot of damage to the Palai city -- like, a lot. so many bloody fights happened in the streets, so many powers got deployed, so many giant fish landed on buildings... the damage is considerable, and now that they've buried their dead and celebrated their victories, the Palai who aren't making weapons are out and about repairing their city instead. any characters who show an inclination to help are promptly given piles of bricks and mortar and wooden planks, though they might want to ask each other or the Palai for help and direction to repair things...]
D (rain rain go away)
[there are a lot of different reasons to go swimming in the strange overhead ocean right now. maybe you're trying to find out why the rain fell from it a couple of days ago, or maybe you're checking to see what the frozen Uvi fortress looks like. maybe you even want to go visit the strange island above the waves again -- who knows what there is to find?
or maybe you just want to go wrestle sharks in there. go wrestle those sharks, no one's judging.]
E (free fall)
[come up with your own prompt and run with it!]

[GLARES NARROW-EYED AT THE BARRIER; almost leans forward to touch it with his nose again, but since Vern is there to be alarmed, decides at the last second to not... do that.]
no subject
If it shocked you, let's not try touching it again directly!
no subject
[only because Vern is there. otherwise, he'd have definitely tried to poke it again, just to be sure it would do the same thing twice.]
This thing has powerful magic. I've never seen anything like it.

[--noses at Vern belatedly, noticing his continued alarm]
It's okay. We're not going to go around poking it more and get hurt.
no subject
[scowls at it, then picks up a small rock or stick or something and lobs it gently at the barrier, watching the spark as it bounces off]
I hope no one comes out of it to bother us.
no subject
[if they're going to be staying here a couple of days, mapping the place out won't hurt, Geir reasons. he's completely unconcerned about the prospect of anyone coming out past the barrier, and figures he can take care of anything if it happens. it might be interesting to find something else in the area, though.]
no subject
. . . all right. Let's try that . . .
no subject
[Geir ducks his head so Vern can climb back up, leaving their little pile of stuff for now. they'll return to it. he takes off leisurely enough, in a heavy swoop, and spends a few minutes circling up to a proper height above the cube-shaped barrier.]
no subject
...it has corners. I've seen shields done before, but they were always domes...
no subject
[i mean, they're 2000s era cell phones, they're almost certainly obnoxiously boxy as fuck. Geir wavers a bit as they reach the middle of the shield. it seems like it'd be such a good idea to swoop down closer to it...]
no subject
[it's pretty hard for him to tell what Geir's thinking of doing from his position on Geir's back, but his voice is at least another focus for him]
no subject
[Geir circles a little lower, as if to suit action to words -- but Vern's voice tugs at his attention, and he starts chicken-flapping harder to rise back up to a decent height again. there are no thermals directly above the barrier, so it's harder in the cool air.]
no subject
Maybe we could drop a boat on it.
no subject
[Geir's tone is a little distracted, but reasonable enough; he's still trying to gain height, so Vern probably doesn't have to worry that he's going to dive bomb it after saying that.]
A boat sounds like a good idea...
no subject
Do you stop wanting to land on it when you're not looking at it anymore?
no subject
Yeah. I think it's something about the light... it's not strong or anything, just there.
no subject
[he's judging! he's judging these mysterious island people so much!]
no subject
It makes sense if you want your enemies out of your hair. You want them to play fair?
no subject
I don't know! I just don't think it's good to lure in people who might just be minding their own business, too. Don't you just make more trouble for yourself that way too?
[it comes out as a grumbling whine into Geir's ridge; he's mushing his face into it like an irritated cat]
no subject
[GEIR IS SO FOND AND HIS WORDS ARE SO GENUINE! you're so nice, Vern.]
I think you're right, but I guess they don't care much. They'd just have to clear out anything dead once in a while. You're nicer than them.
[his bar is so low]
no subject
[DRUMS HIS TINY FISTS USELESSLY ON GEIR'S RIDGE TOO]
no subject
[THAT's ALSO AN INCREDIBLY LOW BAR, GEIR
he purrs a little in the back of his throat.]
A fair fight. I really like those.
no subject
You're so easy to please sometimes.
no subject
[he wings out further over the barrier, mapping out the edges and how far away they are from everything else. this island is really huge...]
