Who: Anyone
Where: Anywhere
When: Day 41
Open/Closed: Open! Geir will tag responses to B only, but feel free to use any or all of these prompts for your own shenanigans ☆
A (the rain in Spain falls mainly on the...)
[you know that the strange seawater rainstorm at the festival two days ago flooded out the marketplace and part of the city. the question is, how far did that rain fall over the hard, sandy soil that surrounds the city of Aimintas? what kind of erosion happened? perhaps you have a hankering to go out and see the effect that the water had on the crags outside the city, or the humid plains covered with native plants. there are four directions to explore, north, south, east, and west: which way will you go and how will you get there? fliers and adventurers, take notice!]
B (how does your garden grow?)
[Geir, at least, is more worried about the plants in the farmed area. he doesn't know much about plants, but he has a vague idea that sowing fields with salt is something one does to one's enemies. since these plants are irrigated with freshwater, more salt rain is not likely to go well for them.
right now he's glaring at a small plot he's dug out out with his talons. he's seeded some of the bark from the strange shrubby filtration plant into it, trying to check if that will help the soil deal with the salt water, but he's run into a problem: there are no plants there yet.]
--can you plant seeds? My claws aren't small enough.
C (after the storm)
[the festival aside, there was a lot of damage to the Palai city -- like, a lot. so many bloody fights happened in the streets, so many powers got deployed, so many giant fish landed on buildings... the damage is considerable, and now that they've buried their dead and celebrated their victories, the Palai who aren't making weapons are out and about repairing their city instead. any characters who show an inclination to help are promptly given piles of bricks and mortar and wooden planks, though they might want to ask each other or the Palai for help and direction to repair things...]
D (rain rain go away)
[there are a lot of different reasons to go swimming in the strange overhead ocean right now. maybe you're trying to find out why the rain fell from it a couple of days ago, or maybe you're checking to see what the frozen Uvi fortress looks like. maybe you even want to go visit the strange island above the waves again -- who knows what there is to find?
or maybe you just want to go wrestle sharks in there. go wrestle those sharks, no one's judging.]
E (free fall)
[come up with your own prompt and run with it!]

It's worth a try. [ he agrees and continues lining the rows with seeds, mindful to give them enough room. don't want to crowd them. ]
Do you do this often? Planting, I mean.
no subject
[they're learning this at the same time, it seems.]
I found out when I got here that the power I got made seeds sprout, so I started looking at gardens more. It's kind of amazing how things grow, isn't it?
[it's the opposite of the death of the world he's supposed to bring about, so he can't help but be fascinated by it.]
...I want to make sure they're okay.
no subject
Yeah. One of my best friends likes plants a lot. She started teaching me how to grow them back home.
no subject
[Vern can teach him some, but more knowledge is always better.]
Or maybe you know enough about it already to teach me?
no subject
[ matchmaking time, clearly. there's a small laugh under his breath. ]
... I don't know that much. Probably about the same amount as you.
no subject
[Geir starts scratching up another, newer test plot with his talons, energetically.]
I want a couple of people to tell me what they think when we've tested out all the different patches, anyway. If I'm gonna go to all this trouble, I want to make sure we're telling the Palai to do the right thing.
no subject
[ on both accounts. wanting haru to give her opinion and then a few other eyes to comment on the various patches to see what is the most effective.
he knows it may be "rude" to ask, but ... ]
Are you always a dragon, or is this just your cool new power?
no subject
[he seems a little bit unsure about that, but cheerful at the idea nonetheless.]
So far I've mostly seen it work on little plants, but I guess I could help people out with it, too. That sounded like what Genette was saying.
no subject
... So you could make people taller?
[ THAT'S PROBABLY NOT WHAT THE FRIENDLY DRAGON MEANT, AKIRA. ]
no subject
[MAYBE???????]
Do you want to see?
no subject
[ THIS IS PROBABLY A BAD IDEA. RED FLAG RED FLAG! ]
How does it work?
no subject
[he looks Akira up and down measuringly.]
What's your name? I don't know what I need to think about while I'm doing it for humans. It's easy to think "grow, little fuzzy green things!" at plants.
no subject
It's Akira.
[ he's so helpful. ]
It might work the same for humans. Just focusing on them in front of you.
no subject
[Geir puts his chin on the ground in front of Akira and... stares at him very intently, his eyes first widening to take him in, then narrowing in concentration. EXTREME ATTEMPTED CONCENTRATION! HRRRRRRRRRGH. notably, this is a failure in that absolutely nothing outwardly happens to Akira.
...as Geir continues to try to direct his energy to the task of pouring growth into Akira's body, though, Akira notices... a more internal change. it's subtle at first, but he feels fresher than he did before they started messing around with the plants, filled with vitality.]
no subject
filled with vitality. it's almost as if he's gone to the bathhouse and soaked for hours after a long day. it's that same feeling of freshness and relaxation that comes with warm water and he blinks, staring at the dragon blankly. ]
... Huh. You should open a spa.
[ AKIRA. ]
no subject
[the sensation stops; Geir pulls back to look at Akira critically. but nope, he's still incredibly tiny, at least to a dragon.
Geir sags, disappointed. all that effort and nothing? really?]
Nooooooooo. You're still short...
no subject
... hey. I'm not that short.
[ he's lifting a brow. sorry, geir. ]
no subject
[come on, Akira. you have to admit that considering the source, it's not much of an insult. all humans are short as far as Geir is concerned.
more importantly, did all that effort even do anything?]
Did anything happen at all?!
no subject
[ there's a roll of his shoulders but then he lifts a hand to clasp the back of his neck once more. ]
...but I feel different. Sort of. Like I just took a shower and a nap.
no subject
...that's interesting. I wonder if that's how the seeds feel, too. Just-- they're plants, so they should be growing...
Do you think it's the same?
no subject
[ thoughtful hums ensue. ]
They're a lot smaller, anyway. Maybe it's a stronger effect for them.
no subject
Would you mind if we tried it again sometime? I'm tired right now, but this could be good to figure out.
no subject
[ he nods, a tiny smile appearing at the edges of his lips. ]
You know how to use the signets to text people, right?
no subject
[from Geir's puzzled face and tone, he clearly doesn't.]
no subject
The signet. If you think about someone, you can send them a message. Either your voice or just the words.
