[WORLD TWO | JAILBREAK]
[ Fifteen days ago, twelve members of the coven were selected to be captured and put under major scrutiny by the Shehui government. Today, they become freed.
Well, that's a pretty dramatic tag line for it all, but it's a dramatic moment isn't it? The coven members who have been taken have been subjected to some pretty hideous conditions, and their captivity and abuse has been reported to their fellow members via telepathy. With this information, and even just the knowledge that coven members have been taken at all, a plan of attack has been orchestrated.
Whether or not you're actively involved in this plan, the effects will likely be noticed immediately -- but it's up to fellow coven members to decide just how wide spread their pandemonium is. SImply put, there will be distracting forces and also those who go in for attack. Helpers and fighters. It's up to you what hand you have in helping your fellow man! ]
( ooc: Since there are a lot of different roles that can't be subsidized to their own prompts, the main given prompts in the log will be for pre- and during the jailbreak. You can have multiple prompts that take place in both situations in the event you have a multi-tiered role.
pre-jailbreak: Anything not directly involved with the government porthole location OR something leading up to the onslaught at the porthole.
during the jailbreak: Directly at the porthole and/or inside of the government hall, so labeled Lower Admin Hall C with a large connecting and locked door in a room that leads to Lower Admin Hall D. )
Let it be known that the monitors won't go down without a fight. No upper level government employees show their face, but when attacked monitors will indeed go in for the kill. However, they are initially taken by surprised. They aren't aware that their technology can be hacked, or that they have a large force that's about to come in against them.
If a monitor is felled, it's possible to take their ID card and use it to break prisoners free. They will all have clearance to access holding rooms, as well as testing centers and interrogation rooms. Use these keys to find coven members -- but characters will also find more monitors as they go through the hall.
Because this is a lower level administration area, searching the place won't find much in the way of information. This is something of the equivalent of a government prison. Weapons, medicine, files on ALL coven members (which can be taken), and similar items can be found. What's certainly more interesting is found in Lower Admin Hall D.
---
hacking results: Capable hackers like 9S will be able to hack into the entrance of the government building eventually, which allows for an easier flow of movement in and out. This won't be the only reward reaped from the hacking: there are tons of locked archives that are concealed within the Shehui mainframe. Most are boring, governmental gobbledygooks, aptly named things like watersystem//upperdeck and the like. Three offer some intriguing information, titled contrabandlist//highlevel, adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride and notefile//banned//writtenrecord.
The first two archives are much easier to crack open and give information as follows (with irrelevant information omitted):
contrabandlist//highlevel
Four (4) small bone fragments, electrical in nature. Dangerous ##04. Contraband Room 5.
One (1) inanimate golden box. [MODIFICATION: When collected, box was magic in nature. Expended Three (3) smooth black stones predetermined to be filled with void magic in opening said golden box for investigation. Not currently deemed dangerous. Contraband Room 1.
> RETRIEVAL: One (1) body from inanimate golden box. Still living, suspended animation. Held in Contraband Room 4. DO NOT INCLUDE OTHER CONTRABAND. CONTRABAND ROOM 4 NOW OFF LIMITS FOR NEW MATERIAL.
> DETAIL: Clothed. Height: [measurement translation to 6' 3"]. Weight: Indeterminate. Dangerous ##77. Antima Formula RE5 inserted in constant IV. No obvious name, planetary association.
adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride
This archive contains a program that can be transferred from ID card to ID card. Anyone who has this .exe in their ID card can give it to someone else. This will grant access to all Lower Admin Hall D rooms, including contraband rooms -- there are six in total. These rooms can also be looted! All magical items within these rooms won't be immediately obvious in how they are magical, but there are plenty of items there that may be looted.
notefile//banned//writtenrecord
????
new objective: jailbreak qri Utilizing this new information, coven members have the opportunity to find Qri and her golden box. While the box does seem somewhat non threatening and useless, unbeknownst to coven members it does contain void properties that allow Qri to use it as a space pocket for all the coven's shit. If you left it in the box, then you're shit out of luck if the box doesn't come to. Qri is surprisingly light, but still unconscious. Because of her size and condition, it will likely take more than one person to move her...but her body may potentially be a good meeting point for coven members. The room is isolated, and she's somewhat awe-inspiring being a large, albino-alien lady.
---
post-jailbreak There's certainly a hullabaloo going on in the government building as the coven members try to fight to take their monitors. One thing is for certain -- there's no going back, now.
After a while, all coven member IDs go black -- including those belonging to uninvolved parties. For some, this is only temporary. Shehui is watching, and they know who they can potentially make loyal. However, anyone involved in the break-in, as well as the Chosen 12, their IDs will remain black. All credits have been taken and their capability to unlock any door will be removed.
Suddenly the fuzzy black cards begin to emit a high-pitched noise. All monitors still underground and alive will immediately freeze at the noise. The black ID cards will begin to flash a very blinding, red message:
TRUCE
ALL STAND DOWN
PEACEFUL EVICTION INITIATED: [TRANSLATED DATE: 20TH]
NO MORE HARM WILL COME TO YOU HERE
No matter where they are, monitors all standing completely still, hands up in surrender. Take a few more shots at them if you dare -- they won't defend themselves. Though your credits may be frozen and your identification marked, this is a war you've won. This war anyway. This war, here. ]

[Will she ever not be puzzled by Jude just wanting to spend time with her? Stay tuned to find out.
She gestures next to her though, getting to work on what maintenance she can. Probably staunching gel or something?? Canon really did not tell me how this would work sweats but thankfully we're in rp land!! ANYWAYS.]
I'm glad everyone's out safe and sound.
no subject
[ the answer to that question is No. jude is an android otaku. ]
Me too, but some of them are... pretty roughed up. And that aside, I have a feeling we can't relax just yet. I'm pretty on edge.
[ he hangs his head. he's seen injuries— bad ones— but that doesn't mean his work is easy. he doesn't like seeing innocent people hurt, or in pain. that's why, despite changing professions back home, he's relieved he can do what he can here. ]

[Peace with an enemy? Outside of Pascal's village, it's hard for her to imagine in any situation, let alone this one. Even if the attacks have stopped, they're running on a time limit. There's no doubt that they'll be monitored even more heavily until their "eviction" too.]
If we stay outside though, and stick together, they shouldn't be able to take someone again. No one would let them.

[She's not sure she's ever felt so assured in a group. Team missions in YoRHa, well... Technically, every Machine War was a team effort, and look at what working together had gotten all of them.]

[He wouldn't be Jude without being a bit idealistic, she thinks.]
no subject
[ he rubs at the nape of his neck with a somewhat sheepish laugh. ]
But I'd much rather be an optimist than a pessimist, even if I can be naive at times.
no subject
[Any kind of optimism is, frankly, refreshing in a way. Unsurprisingly, she didn't know many people like that.]

You're quite resilient then. Or maybe just stubborn. [It's said fondly though.] Holding onto hope like that... It's hard.
no subject
[ he smiles, bright, but it's quick to fade into something softer. more subdued. ]
... Yeah. It hasn't always been easy. There were times I just wanted to give up. On everything. Everyone.
[ he hasn't talked about that part of his life much. it might be surprising. ]
no subject
But, well, maybe it shouldn't be surprising. No one is infallible. As much as her programming might dictate her to think otherwise, she knows that objectively, humans are the same. They aren't perfect. And... that's okay too.]
... But you didn't, right? You wouldn't be here as you are now if you had. [She doesn't know what might have happened, and while she doesn't want to pry without him wanting to talk about it himself, she wants Jude to know this.] I think that's what matters.
no subject
[ a pause. you've unlocked a piece of jude mathis' backstory. ]
Have I ever told you about Milla?
no subject
1/2
[ jude's voice is unbearably fond, his gaze somewhere far away. his eyes aren't on 2b. ]
Milla is a Great Spirit. In other words, she's not human. She's watching over us humans from a place called the Spirit Realm. There was one time, though... one time we thought she had went and died. She had sacrificed herself for all of us.
And it was like I died along with her. I lost myself. I didn't know what to do. How to live. I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't sleep. I would just stare into space and wonder how things ended up the way they did.
Then... a good friend of mine tried to kill me. He made a bargain with the enemy, see. Betrayed me, when I trusted him. I told him to go ahead. It didn't matter to me.
Then... then my best friend saved me. Leia. Leia is her name. She picked me back up, forced me to stand on my own two feet again. If it wasn't for her, I don't know what would have happened.
In the end, we were able to reunite with Milla before she... took off again. To fulfill her lifelong mission.
[ and in a way... he's still coping with that. ]
But that was a time I lost all hope. I thought I lost everything. Milla was all I knew; following her was all I understood. I didn't have a path of my own.
2/2
You didn't ask for my life story. I guess I just wanted you to know that I've made mistakes, too.
And believe it or not, the person who threatened to kill me is another one of my dearest friends. I never did stop believing he was a good person deep down, and I was right.
no subject
[She takes a moment before really responding though. Listening to his story, yet again, she can't help but be struck by how similar he and 9S are. For better or worse. All she can think about is what she heard of 9S' reaction to her death.
But there hadn't been anyone to help him stand up again. YoRHa had been decimated, and to 9S, A2 was simply the traitor who killed her. From what she knows, he rejected any offer of help, any outstretched hands, from the Resistance androids himself. He told her he'd been alone.
So she's glad that if anyone had to fall in love with 9S, it was Jude. There are no guarantees in the coven, and with the way people tend to come and go all the time, she's aware that there's nothing guaranteeing that she'll always be with 9S here. One day, she could simply be gone without her ever realizing. If that day should ever come, she thinks Jude would be able to help him not feel so alone, so lost. She can't help but be grateful for that.]
I'm glad that you told me all this. And I'm glad that your friends were able to help you stand up again. Even though it must have been so hard, you came out stronger for it.
no subject
he recalls the time he accused 2b. yelled at her, and misunderstood, and didn't even try to understand, really, until 9s talked some sense into him. he doesn't think he'll ever not regret that. he cares for 2b so much. she's practically family to him, and he wonders if she'd think that was strange.
but maybe he'll tell her that one day. like in the thread after this idk. ]
You know what? I think you're right.
[ he finally meets her eyes, and his own are a little watery. ]
... And 2B?
I'm sorry I ever doubted you.
no subject
[He had every reason to after all, and as always, she'd still prefer it if he stayed angry at her for it. That's a losing battle to fight though, and she knows it. Besides, even if that's what she'd prefer, she's also still glad that he's not upset with her anymore, no matter how much she thinks she doesn't deserve it.
So instead, she leans her head down slightly to better look him in the eyes. Her voice is gentle, warm.]
It's alright.
