[WORLD TWO | JAILBREAK]

[ Fifteen days ago, twelve members of the coven were selected to be captured and put under major scrutiny by the Shehui government. Today, they become freed.

Well, that's a pretty dramatic tag line for it all, but it's a dramatic moment isn't it? The coven members who have been taken have been subjected to some pretty hideous conditions, and their captivity and abuse has been reported to their fellow members via telepathy. With this information, and even just the knowledge that coven members have been taken at all, a plan of attack has been orchestrated.

Whether or not you're actively involved in this plan, the effects will likely be noticed immediately -- but it's up to fellow coven members to decide just how wide spread their pandemonium is. SImply put, there will be distracting forces and also those who go in for attack. Helpers and fighters. It's up to you what hand you have in helping your fellow man! ]

( ooc: Since there are a lot of different roles that can't be subsidized to their own prompts, the main given prompts in the log will be for pre- and during the jailbreak. You can have multiple prompts that take place in both situations in the event you have a multi-tiered role.

pre-jailbreak: Anything not directly involved with the government porthole location OR something leading up to the onslaught at the porthole.

during the jailbreak: Directly at the porthole and/or inside of the government hall, so labeled Lower Admin Hall C with a large connecting and locked door in a room that leads to Lower Admin Hall D. )

Let it be known that the monitors won't go down without a fight. No upper level government employees show their face, but when attacked monitors will indeed go in for the kill. However, they are initially taken by surprised. They aren't aware that their technology can be hacked, or that they have a large force that's about to come in against them.

If a monitor is felled, it's possible to take their ID card and use it to break prisoners free. They will all have clearance to access holding rooms, as well as testing centers and interrogation rooms. Use these keys to find coven members -- but characters will also find more monitors as they go through the hall.

Because this is a lower level administration area, searching the place won't find much in the way of information. This is something of the equivalent of a government prison. Weapons, medicine, files on ALL coven members (which can be taken), and similar items can be found. What's certainly more interesting is found in Lower Admin Hall D.

---

hacking results: Capable hackers like 9S will be able to hack into the entrance of the government building eventually, which allows for an easier flow of movement in and out. This won't be the only reward reaped from the hacking: there are tons of locked archives that are concealed within the Shehui mainframe. Most are boring, governmental gobbledygooks, aptly named things like watersystem//upperdeck and the like. Three offer some intriguing information, titled contrabandlist//highlevel, adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride and notefile//banned//writtenrecord.

The first two archives are much easier to crack open and give information as follows (with irrelevant information omitted):

contrabandlist//highlevel
  • Four (4) small bone fragments, electrical in nature. Dangerous ##04. Contraband Room 5.
  • One (1) inanimate golden box. [MODIFICATION: When collected, box was magic in nature. Expended Three (3) smooth black stones predetermined to be filled with void magic in opening said golden box for investigation. Not currently deemed dangerous. Contraband Room 1.
  • > RETRIEVAL: One (1) body from inanimate golden box. Still living, suspended animation. Held in Contraband Room 4. DO NOT INCLUDE OTHER CONTRABAND. CONTRABAND ROOM 4 NOW OFF LIMITS FOR NEW MATERIAL.
  • > DETAIL: Clothed. Height: [measurement translation to 6' 3"]. Weight: Indeterminate. Dangerous ##77. Antima Formula RE5 inserted in constant IV. No obvious name, planetary association.

    adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride
  • This archive contains a program that can be transferred from ID card to ID card. Anyone who has this .exe in their ID card can give it to someone else. This will grant access to all Lower Admin Hall D rooms, including contraband rooms -- there are six in total. These rooms can also be looted! All magical items within these rooms won't be immediately obvious in how they are magical, but there are plenty of items there that may be looted.

    notefile//banned//writtenrecord
  • ????

new objective: jailbreak qri Utilizing this new information, coven members have the opportunity to find Qri and her golden box. While the box does seem somewhat non threatening and useless, unbeknownst to coven members it does contain void properties that allow Qri to use it as a space pocket for all the coven's shit. If you left it in the box, then you're shit out of luck if the box doesn't come to. Qri is surprisingly light, but still unconscious. Because of her size and condition, it will likely take more than one person to move her...but her body may potentially be a good meeting point for coven members. The room is isolated, and she's somewhat awe-inspiring being a large, albino-alien lady.

    ---

post-jailbreak There's certainly a hullabaloo going on in the government building as the coven members try to fight to take their monitors. One thing is for certain -- there's no going back, now.

After a while, all coven member IDs go black -- including those belonging to uninvolved parties. For some, this is only temporary. Shehui is watching, and they know who they can potentially make loyal. However, anyone involved in the break-in, as well as the Chosen 12, their IDs will remain black. All credits have been taken and their capability to unlock any door will be removed.

Suddenly the fuzzy black cards begin to emit a high-pitched noise. All monitors still underground and alive will immediately freeze at the noise. The black ID cards will begin to flash a very blinding, red message:

    TRUCE
    ALL STAND DOWN
PEACEFUL EVICTION INITIATED: [TRANSLATED DATE: 20TH]
NO MORE HARM WILL COME TO YOU HERE

No matter where they are, monitors all standing completely still, hands up in surrender. Take a few more shots at them if you dare -- they won't defend themselves. Though your credits may be frozen and your identification marked, this is a war you've won. This war anyway. This war, here. ]

[He stares down at his bottle of water. There is a lot he could say to change the subject. But Roy had been honest and it’s only fair he be the same.]

They were completely unprepared for us to come in force. Either they aren’t used to magical forces coming together or they were that confident.

[He caps his bottle and his right hand closes into a tight fist. Normally he wouldn’t allow himself to admit the kinds of things he has said to Riza or what he is about to say to Roy. But they’re all allowed to talk a bit now it’s over.]

My job as a Paladin is to serve and protect anyone in need. I wanted to forget that and tear the place apart to get everyone out. Fifteen days. A year. It doesn’t matter. No one should go through that.

[He looks away staring off into the distance with anger making his eyes dark. Just for today he’d let that much slip. But it doesn’t last. He shoves it back down inside with a shake of his head.]

I’m angry too. I just keep reminding myself we found them all alive and none of them came out with new additions. Or worse.

[ he almost says that that's a noble job description -- protect and serve. that's certainly not what his is. or was, really. the opposite, if roy thinks about it. his job now is certainly something to aspire to, but for roy, it's all to easy to slip back into old habits. it's easier to kill when you just don't think about it.

but that's not something to share with a relative stranger. riza, perhaps, when she feels up to it. but not shiro. not yet, anyway. ]

She'll be fine. [ finally; both as a reminder to himself and to inform shiro, in case shiro hasn't had the opportunity to see her yet. riza told him that she had been speaking to shiro, and thus, roy assumes he's trustworthy. riza is a good judge of character, far better than he is. ] Our home isn't the kindest place. We've endured worse.

[ compared to ishval, this is a joy ride. he's quiet for a moment or two before continuing. ]

I destroyed a good part of the cells on my way out. [ much to riza's general aggravation and eye-rolling. ] I'm sure they'll receive the message that next time, it'll be worse.

If they can look past their fears. [But he relaxes more than he usually would. He’d figured Riza would be fine. But knowing is enough to dail his anger back down without him needing to chain it with his will. Riza has obviously told Roy about their talks. That’s fine. He reached out to her to help her survive. The contents of those talks where his own imprisonment is painted with the darkness, the pain from the druids, and the blood of the arena is between them. He won’t admit it to a stranger even one a friend trusts. Not to Roy. For now..]

I figured she’d be alright but thank you for letting me know. I’ve been moving around until just now. I was going to go find her soon.

[Shiro stares down at his arm and realizes he’s had a fist at his side the whole time. He forces his metal fingers to open. His instincts will settle back down. Wait. His brow furrows and he glances up at the sky.]

...did the monitors seem a bit too obedient to you? Even their aircraft ceased attacking the moment that signal went out. But they didn’t break off and return to base. They just hovered where they could be shot down or torn apart.

[ there's a long moment of pause before roy answers, mostly because he's battling inside his head on whether he wants to speak for riza. he typically doesn't, mostly because riza only speaks when she has something to say, and roy isn't going to presume to know what she wants to say whens he isn't here to say it. but riza also doesn't look out for her best interests, a lot of the time, and that's usually when roy speaks for her.

so, it's in knowing that riza will likely lecture him, that he speaks: ]

You can see her when she's ready to be seen. [ judging from roy's tone, that isn't going to be anytime soon. protective, to a fault. he hasn't had the chance, since coming back, and delegating what needs to be delegated, to sit with her and sort through what happened. he wants to do that first, before anyone else has the chance to. ] She needs time to recover.

    [ that being said: ]

I doubt they wanted dead bodies to explain to the seemingly ignorant public. I doubt the knowledge that they were torturing tourists will go over well. They want to keep the peace, not start a war. Once it was over, they picked and chose their battles. The public knew we had broken in. Letting us go is the politically smart thing to do.

[ it's what roy would do, anyway. ]

[He waits for Roy’s answer and gets the last dredges of his own feelings back under his control. It bothers him that he let himself slip even a little. That could have put pressure on the others. By the time he’s back to calm and in full command of himself with the fading memory of being a machine dying away, Roy gives him an answer.

He nods once, acknowledging what Roy said and leaves that topic alone. Riza would call when she wants to see him or come find him when she was well enough. Their talks tell him that much.

He focuses on what he can do something about.]

I get why they didn’t attack once the truce was signaled. Especially if this eviction process has begun. It was the speed of their response and the lack of safe guarding themselves I don’t get. Aircraft run on fuel and the older crafts can be a fireball if your enemy knows their weak points. They should have fallen back. They didn’t.

Nor did the soldiers close ranks and form any kind of defense in case we continued our attack. Or retreat. It might be I’m over thinking this. But I’ve seen that kind of response before but only in machines. I don’t doubt it’s possible to train an army to respond like that. But it bothers me.

[ there's a silence, as he listens. parses through the strategies, sorts them out into what roy would have done and what roy wouldn't have done. he's been in active combat, both as a superior officer and as a weapon in the field, and he's seen how quickly things can fall apart if you don't have good leadership at the helm.

it's because of this reason that roy doesn't answer immediately. mulling it over. ]

We know nothing about who is in charge or what their goal really was, aside from wanting to experiment on "magic." For all we know, they had a plan, and promptly panicked. Or the people who were guarding the prisoners weren't people at all, but automatons.

[ father used zombie-like creatures, in the final battle. roy doesn't assume anything anymore. ]

We won't know unless we explore the facility itself, which is risky.
    spaceforged: (More talking)

    [personal profile] spaceforged 2018-02-14 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather not do that unless we have solid intel worth the risk. Still, our tech experts could find something to that end. We'll see. [He forgot what it was like to have someone who could rapidly churn out thoughts on troop movement on a scale he's only got a year of practice with. Together he and Princess Allura get by but.

It's something to think on and learn from. And nice to have another perspective when his own paranoia is loud in the back of his head. He mulls it over himself with how he'd have handled the situation. The same points come up.]

Whatever their aims are and who is in charge, they're definitely not used to having opposition. At least nothing they can't suppress or put down quickly.

For now, I'll keep an eye on the sky. I doubt they'll scout from the air anymore but it never hurts to keep watch. [They could do it at night. They have no idea if the flyers in the coven have night vision.]

Anything is appreciated, at this point. My attention is stretched thin.

[ between fielding questions and making sure riza is alright, along with his own specific adopted charges, roy hasn't had much of an opportunity to do anything else. any input from shiro is appreciated, and especially any volunteer work.

    -- which reminds him: ]

Has 9S managed to decipher what he found, from the hacking?
spaceforged: (Feeling lost? Yeah he does that a lot.)

    [personal profile] spaceforged 2018-02-22 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to my knowledge. But I’ve been monitoring the parameter. Had all my attention on that.

[He’s better at keeping watch for trouble. At least, for now. That and he’s been directing people to their supplies or to medic help. Shiro pops his right shoulder and runs back over his head what had been covered. They’ve mostly covered everything.]

...can’t really think of anything else. [Then again he’s exhausted. Shape changing as much as he has today is enough to knock him out if he allowed it.]

But whatever they grabbed has to be important. People don’t bury files and information like that unless they mean to hide their contents. Not a tech expert but that’s one thing my team’s expert always told us. Just hope we’ll know what it is sooner than later.
