[WORLD TWO | JAILBREAK]

[ Fifteen days ago, twelve members of the coven were selected to be captured and put under major scrutiny by the Shehui government. Today, they become freed.

Well, that's a pretty dramatic tag line for it all, but it's a dramatic moment isn't it? The coven members who have been taken have been subjected to some pretty hideous conditions, and their captivity and abuse has been reported to their fellow members via telepathy. With this information, and even just the knowledge that coven members have been taken at all, a plan of attack has been orchestrated.

Whether or not you're actively involved in this plan, the effects will likely be noticed immediately -- but it's up to fellow coven members to decide just how wide spread their pandemonium is. SImply put, there will be distracting forces and also those who go in for attack. Helpers and fighters. It's up to you what hand you have in helping your fellow man! ]

( ooc: Since there are a lot of different roles that can't be subsidized to their own prompts, the main given prompts in the log will be for pre- and during the jailbreak. You can have multiple prompts that take place in both situations in the event you have a multi-tiered role.

pre-jailbreak: Anything not directly involved with the government porthole location OR something leading up to the onslaught at the porthole.

during the jailbreak: Directly at the porthole and/or inside of the government hall, so labeled Lower Admin Hall C with a large connecting and locked door in a room that leads to Lower Admin Hall D. )

Let it be known that the monitors won't go down without a fight. No upper level government employees show their face, but when attacked monitors will indeed go in for the kill. However, they are initially taken by surprised. They aren't aware that their technology can be hacked, or that they have a large force that's about to come in against them.

If a monitor is felled, it's possible to take their ID card and use it to break prisoners free. They will all have clearance to access holding rooms, as well as testing centers and interrogation rooms. Use these keys to find coven members -- but characters will also find more monitors as they go through the hall.

Because this is a lower level administration area, searching the place won't find much in the way of information. This is something of the equivalent of a government prison. Weapons, medicine, files on ALL coven members (which can be taken), and similar items can be found. What's certainly more interesting is found in Lower Admin Hall D.

hacking results: Capable hackers like 9S will be able to hack into the entrance of the government building eventually, which allows for an easier flow of movement in and out. This won't be the only reward reaped from the hacking: there are tons of locked archives that are concealed within the Shehui mainframe. Most are boring, governmental gobbledygooks, aptly named things like watersystem//upperdeck and the like. Three offer some intriguing information, titled contrabandlist//highlevel, adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride and notefile//banned//writtenrecord.

The first two archives are much easier to crack open and give information as follows (with irrelevant information omitted):

  • One (1) inanimate golden box. [MODIFICATION: When collected, box was magic in nature. Expended Three (3) smooth black stones predetermined to be filled with void magic in opening said golden box for investigation. Not currently deemed dangerous. Contraband Room 1.
  • > RETRIEVAL: One (1) body from inanimate golden box. Still living, suspended animation. Held in Contraband Room 4. DO NOT INCLUDE OTHER CONTRABAND. CONTRABAND ROOM 4 NOW OFF LIMITS FOR NEW MATERIAL.
  • > DETAIL: Clothed. Height: [measurement translation to 6' 3"]. Weight: Indeterminate. Dangerous ##77. Antima Formula RE5 inserted in constant IV. No obvious name, planetary association.

  • This archive contains a program that can be transferred from ID card to ID card. Anyone who has this .exe in their ID card can give it to someone else. This will grant access to all Lower Admin Hall D rooms, including contraband rooms -- there are six in total. These rooms can also be looted! All magical items within these rooms won't be immediately obvious in how they are magical, but there are plenty of items there that may be looted.

    new objective: jailbreak qri Utilizing this new information, coven members have the opportunity to find Qri and her golden box. While the box does seem somewhat non threatening and useless, unbeknownst to coven members it does contain void properties that allow Qri to use it as a space pocket for all the coven's shit. If you left it in the box, then you're shit out of luck if the box doesn't come to. Qri is surprisingly light, but still unconscious. Because of her size and condition, it will likely take more than one person to move her...but her body may potentially be a good meeting point for coven members. The room is isolated, and she's somewhat awe-inspiring being a large, albino-alien lady.

    post-jailbreak There's certainly a hullabaloo going on in the government building as the coven members try to fight to take their monitors. One thing is for certain -- there's no going back, now.

    After a while, all coven member IDs go black -- including those belonging to uninvolved parties. For some, this is only temporary. Shehui is watching, and they know who they can potentially make loyal. However, anyone involved in the break-in, as well as the Chosen 12, their IDs will remain black. All credits have been taken and their capability to unlock any door will be removed.

    Suddenly the fuzzy black cards begin to emit a high-pitched noise. All monitors still underground and alive will immediately freeze at the noise. The black ID cards will begin to flash a very blinding, red message:

    TRUCE
    ALL STAND DOWN
    PEACEFUL EVICTION INITIATED: [TRANSLATED DATE: 20TH]
    NO MORE HARM WILL COME TO YOU HERE


    No matter where they are, monitors all standing completely still, hands up in surrender. Take a few more shots at them if you dare -- they won't defend themselves. Though your credits may be frozen and your identification marked, this is a war you've won. This war anyway. This war, here. ]

    [ it's not that it's tighter than she'd like - if riza had her way, every touch wouldn't hurt the way it does, but she's gotten used to it. gotten over pretending there isn't constant pain. especially with roy's arms pulled back around her, giving herself a moment to breathe him in, to relax.

    at his answer, she nearly smirks. ]
    That's all we need. [ and then, feeling his arms move to try and get under her, she tightens her hand on his arm, moving herself in a very pointed, do not carry me kind of way. and yes, okay, it's a little difficult, but she pulls her legs off the bed, sitting up fully now. ]

    We need to make sure the other captives are out of here. [ and this is the moment where she's going to actually give roy a once over, her eyes scanning for a very particular piece of weaponry she knows he has on him. ]

    [ he can recognize the look in her eyes as a fight roy is absolutely going to lose, and he's almost willing to have that fight, but roy allows her to move of her own accord, not fighting riza moving her own body to sit up properly. he doesn't complain, or argue, but roy does roll his eyes at the sudden prying look riza has in her eyes, combing over his coat. ]

    If you even look like you're going to trip, I'm carrying you out of here.

    [ it's a warning, and roy shifts, fishing to take the gun out of his belt to press into her palm. ]

    Take it, I don't need it anyway. [ SO THERE, and roy straightens to stand, though he holds out a gloved hand, to offer her a leg up. riza, for now, has won her argument, though roy reserves the right to argue for another time. ] The other captives are out. I found you last.

    [ roy sounds irritated, at that. ]

    I'm here to get you out, and that's it. We're getting out of here.

    I'm not going to trip.

    [ she almost says i won't let you see me trip but decides that starting any kind of argument about it wouldn't be worth the energy. especially with how roy's warning is coded, the tone he nearly but doesn't quite take.

    not that it matters, as he notices her looking and shifts, producing the weapon. riza all but lunges for it, immediately pulling it back to her and taking a quick check of it before setting it in the back of her waistband. roy stands, and riza moves to follow, seeing out of the corner of her eye that he's held his hand out to her.

    there is a pause, though it is brief, before she takes the offered hand and lets him help her stand, unable to hide the way she winces at the movement. but it doesn't matter - it's not like she hasn't dealt with worse - and instead she makes a move for the door. ]
    Everyone is out? What about the monitors?

    [ roy pulls her to her feet easily, letting go of her hand and arm once she's stable on her feet. he sees the wincing, but holds his tongue -- he can complain later. for now, roy has to focus on getting them both out of here. he turns to the door, taking point to glance out of it, and seeing movement at the end of the hallway, he lowers his voice: ]

    I got rid of most of the ones on the way here. [ did he need to do that? probably not, but roy has never been good at infiltration missions, and honestly, the moment they were caught, it was a battle from then on out. ] It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, honestly, but we can worry about that later. I think, by now, they're playing politically. The city is going to know what monsters they are now that you're free.

    [ he pauses before stepping a bit more into the hallway, eyeing the . . . charred path from whence he came. ]

    Come on. Back the way we came. It's the easiest path.

    [ she feels his eyes on her and knows that she won't be able to avoid this conversation for long. but she's made it clear, at least for now, that it's not going to happen yet. they start towards the door, riza's hand snaking back to pull the gun back out of the band of her pants and keeping it ready as she waits for roy to check.

    movement, but who? she has no idea of who all is out there still and who isn't. her body is shaky and she does wonder how much it'll affect her aim. ]
    I don't think they were expecting retaliation. I don't know if that is arrogance or inexperience.

    [ she steps in behind him, familiar with the movements, even with the subtle differences in how her body feels. ]

    And you're sure the rest are out? [ she checks back down the opposite end of the hall, seeing movement and raising up her gun. she waits until she sees the tell-tale sign of the minutor uniform before she shoots - twice, and the body falls. ]

    They're not mutually exclusive.

    [ arrogance, inexperience. roy just knows this city is poisonous, and they need to leave. and as they move down the hall, he continues to speak: ] Yes. Everyone was delegated and put into specific -- [ and he stops talking, long enough for riza to take her shot, before he continues without even missing a beat ] -- teams depending on medical need. We're the clean-up crew.

    [ as usual. but as they move down the hall, roy hears footsteps -- a scuffle, and he steps over the body of the monitor that riza dropped to glance down the hall. three of them, clustered. and roy nearly moves to raise his hand, to just incinerate them, before he glances back toward riza, inclining his head toward the group.

    she gets first shot, after what she went through. ]

    No, they're not. [ she agrees, stepping in perfect sync as they move through the hallway. and it's not that she doesn't trust their planning - roy was a part of that group, after all, so if everything went well the plan would be full-proof. still, she has to check, her eyes darting off behind them as well as head.

    her eyes fall to the body of the monitor, stepping over him with a practiced, heavy nonchalance. but when she looks back up, it's to roy's eyes on her, towards his inclination, and riza notices the guards.

    it could be her imagination, or it could be true, but it takes half a second for her to recognize one of them before three shots are fired in quick succession.

    she doesn't even know if she lands the hits, but she doesn't know if she cares. ]

    [ riza hawkeye does not miss, and roy honestly doesn't think she would miss even in the state that she's in. but the moment riza's shots are fired (and perhaps even hit), he's at her side with a roll of his wrist, snapping his fingers to send a dancing bolt of flame down the hall, which soon envelops the monitors before their bodies hit the floor.

    just in case.

    once he's satisfied they're not even twitching, roy touches riza's arm, almost taking her by the elbow, to continue down the hall, but not without a blithe quip: ]


    Two weeks of horrific treatment and you didn't miss once.

    [ mildly enough ]

    Some might call that freakish.

    [ not that it's a surprise. ]

    [ she does not miss, but she's able to watch the bullets for long enough to know where they land, and she knows herself well enough to know where her hands are when she pulled the trigger.

    still, for a brief moment there is fire, and riza feels the tightening in her chest lighten just a bit. ]


    I was aiming for their heads. [ and she hit them in the chest. that's enough of a miss for her not to be proud.

    she checks back down the hallway, not seeing movement and looking back to roy. ]

    [ there's a soft huff of laughter underneath his breath at her comment before he begins down the hallway, stepping over the bodies with a well-practiced ease as they make their way back the way roy came. they don't get clear passage, but certainly easier than roy anticipated -- and, by now, the monitors are seeing the destruction wrought by the rescue party, and seem to have gotten the idea that this is turning into a disaster.

    but the closer they get to the door, the closer roy sticks to riza's side. protective, careful to keep watch her back as they move forward. riza's admission that she had missed (even if she didn't miss, in roy's opinion) means she needs to get out, quickly, and that she also isn't at the top of her game. and she shouldn't be, all things considered.

    so he moves with her, purposeful, but is definitely keeping a lookout more than he usually would, when riza is with him. he's her eyes, this time around. ]
