[ Fifteen days ago, twelve members of the coven were selected to be captured and put under major scrutiny by the Shehui government. Today, they become freed.

Well, that's a pretty dramatic tag line for it all, but it's a dramatic moment isn't it? The coven members who have been taken have been subjected to some pretty hideous conditions, and their captivity and abuse has been reported to their fellow members via telepathy. With this information, and even just the knowledge that coven members have been taken at all, a plan of attack has been orchestrated.

Whether or not you're actively involved in this plan, the effects will likely be noticed immediately -- but it's up to fellow coven members to decide just how wide spread their pandemonium is. SImply put, there will be distracting forces and also those who go in for attack. Helpers and fighters. It's up to you what hand you have in helping your fellow man! ]

( ooc: Since there are a lot of different roles that can't be subsidized to their own prompts, the main given prompts in the log will be for pre- and during the jailbreak. You can have multiple prompts that take place in both situations in the event you have a multi-tiered role.

pre-jailbreak: Anything not directly involved with the government porthole location OR something leading up to the onslaught at the porthole.

during the jailbreak: Directly at the porthole and/or inside of the government hall, so labeled Lower Admin Hall C with a large connecting and locked door in a room that leads to Lower Admin Hall D. )

Let it be known that the monitors won't go down without a fight. No upper level government employees show their face, but when attacked monitors will indeed go in for the kill. However, they are initially taken by surprised. They aren't aware that their technology can be hacked, or that they have a large force that's about to come in against them.

If a monitor is felled, it's possible to take their ID card and use it to break prisoners free. They will all have clearance to access holding rooms, as well as testing centers and interrogation rooms. Use these keys to find coven members -- but characters will also find more monitors as they go through the hall.

Because this is a lower level administration area, searching the place won't find much in the way of information. This is something of the equivalent of a government prison. Weapons, medicine, files on ALL coven members (which can be taken), and similar items can be found. What's certainly more interesting is found in Lower Admin Hall D.

hacking results: Capable hackers like 9S will be able to hack into the entrance of the government building eventually, which allows for an easier flow of movement in and out. This won't be the only reward reaped from the hacking: there are tons of locked archives that are concealed within the Shehui mainframe. Most are boring, governmental gobbledygooks, aptly named things like watersystem//upperdeck and the like. Three offer some intriguing information, titled contrabandlist//highlevel, adminhalld//accessrequirementoverride and notefile//banned//writtenrecord.

The first two archives are much easier to crack open and give information as follows (with irrelevant information omitted):

This archive contains a program that can be transferred from ID card to ID card. Anyone who has this .exe in their ID card can give it to someone else. This will grant access to all Lower Admin Hall D rooms, including contraband rooms -- there are six in total. These rooms can also be looted! All magical items within these rooms won't be immediately obvious in how they are magical, but there are plenty of items there that may be looted.

new objective: jailbreak qri Utilizing this new information, coven members have the opportunity to find Qri and her golden box. While the box does seem somewhat non threatening and useless, unbeknownst to coven members it does contain void properties that allow Qri to use it as a space pocket for all the coven's shit. If you left it in the box, then you're shit out of luck if the box doesn't come to. Qri is surprisingly light, but still unconscious. Because of her size and condition, it will likely take more than one person to move her...but her body may potentially be a good meeting point for coven members. The room is isolated, and she's somewhat awe-inspiring being a large, albino-alien lady.

post-jailbreak There's certainly a hullabaloo going on in the government building as the coven members try to fight to take their monitors. One thing is for certain -- there's no going back, now.

After a while, all coven member IDs go black -- including those belonging to uninvolved parties. For some, this is only temporary. Shehui is watching, and they know who they can potentially make loyal. However, anyone involved in the break-in, as well as the Chosen 12, their IDs will remain black. All credits have been taken and their capability to unlock any door will be removed.

Suddenly the fuzzy black cards begin to emit a high-pitched noise. All monitors still underground and alive will immediately freeze at the noise. The black ID cards will begin to flash a very blinding, red message:

TRUCE
ALL STAND DOWN
PEACEFUL EVICTION INITIATED: [TRANSLATED DATE: 20TH]
NO MORE HARM WILL COME TO YOU HERE

No matter where they are, monitors all standing completely still, hands up in surrender. Take a few more shots at them if you dare -- they won't defend themselves. Though your credits may be frozen and your identification marked, this is a war you've won. This war anyway. This war, here. ]

[ jude wraps a gentle arm around her shoulders, mindful of the fact that she might not really want to be touched at the moment. still, she needs the support. ]

It's okay. Don't worry about looking good. As long as you're finally out of there.

I need to sit back down somewhere, I think.

[She probably meant she looks worse for wear. She has a sizable bruise on her cheek. Several needle pricks in both arms...looking like she hasn't gotten a wink of sleep in the last week.

Yet, she still worried about everyone else.]

Have you come across Madoka-chan or Shirley-san?

All right. Hold on just a minute longer.

[ jude feels sort of frantic, but to his credit, it doesn't show. he appears to be much calmer than he actually is when he seeks out a stray bench for them to sit on. he lowers haru down gently, then kneels in front of her to examine her injuries. ]

Not yet, but I'm going to look for them, too. Let's just focus on you right now.

[mapsio]

[She's hesitant, but she nods. She's so tired and that's all she can think about. She's tired and she doesn't think even now she can sleep. This is the worst combination. All she wants is for the pain she's feeling to go away.

She's going to be patient and still while Jude examines her.

The most noticeable is the bruise on her cheek, and a small cut on her forehead. The fact that she is also very pale and likely dehydrated is apparent as well.]

[talim]

[ jude nods to himself before looking up at her and meeting her weary eyes. ]

I need to go grab a few things. I can't believe I didn't bring them with me—

[ but this is not a good time to be berating himself, as much as he'd like to. he just got swept up in the madness of it all. ]

I'll be back. Don't move, and don't fall asleep. Can you do that for me?

I'll try.

[She just needs to stay sitting up and she needs to not close her eyes for too long. She has to stay awake until she can be sure she's going to be okay after all of this.

But this is also leaving her with her thoughts. How she wished she could have done more for her cellmates, how she couldn't even get out of the cell without Akira carrying her all the way out.

This really wasn't the time to be thinking about all of this.]

Good.

[ jude is gone in a split second, and true to his word, he's back in a few minutes, tops. thankfully, his apartment unlocked. he wasn't directly involved in the break in; he knew that his role was here, and he's not sure what he would have done without access to a first aid kit and fresh bottles of water. he already doesn't have access to his healing magic as it is, something that would make all this exponentially easier.

he doesn't offer haru a greeting when he returns — good, she's still awake. instead, he gives her a tight-lipped smile before handing her a water bottle. ]

Before anything else, drink this. You need to get some fluids in you.

[ then he starts digging for disinfectant and bandages for the cut on her forehead. he winces at the proof of the needles that had pricked her skin. just what had happened? how bad was it? he has so many questions, but this isn't the time. ]

[She welcomes the water bottle, giving a warm smile to Jude. She can't help but feel appreciative the second she brings it up to her lips. She has to remind herself to drink slowly or she'll make herself sick.

She notices his reaction to the state she's in. She knows it must be hard for Jude to witness his friends like this. In his position, Haru might feel angry. She's already angry that it happened in the first place.]

Thank you.

[She's going to press the water bottle to her forehead for a moment, it's just enough to cool her off and take some of the pressure off of her headache.]

Shh. There's no need to thank me.

[ jude spills a little bit of the water onto a gauze pad and reaches up to dab it over the cut, cleaning the area before taking out a large bandage and gently covering it.

while he works, he murmurs a quiet apology. ]

Haru... I'm sorry I can't even get you to a bed. This doesn't feel like anywhere near enough.

[mapsio]

This is enough, I promise.

[This is a warm welcome from the situation she was just in.

She flinches when he touches the cut, it's sore— as to be expected.]

I didn't think it would get that bad. I just thought they would question us again.

[talim]

[ he wishes he had a better way to soothe her. he can feel the tension, the anxiety. ]

I know. None of us did. We did our best, but I wish we had been able to get to you so much sooner.

[mapsio]

[She tries not to think about everything, but it's still so fresh.]

Something to that scale, I know it took a lot of planning. You're here helping now. That is all that matters.

[talim]

Haru...

[ jude is dabbing at the small pricks on her arms while he speaks, hoping to distract her while he continues to take care of her injuries. they're not as bad as he thought they would be, thankfully, but still... ]

What else hurts? Your head?

[ he has headache medicine, but he isn't going to give it to her on an empty stomach. it will only make her nauseous. ]

My arms are sore and my head hurts.

[She hasn't really eaten much of anything for the past at least...three days. At some point she was so out of it that she just stopped eating the entire meal— or any of it at all.

The pricks are probably the smallest of her injuries, but there are still so many of them. There are less on her left arm than there are on her right, simply because when you've pricked one arm so many times you just start on the other one, right? LOGIC.]

There's not much I can do about the soreness, but food and water should gradually help your headache. The aches and pains will subside, but it might take several days, at least.

[ he's not going to bandage each and every one. cleaning and disinfecting them should be enough. the next order of business is getting some food in her. ]

Is an apple okay? Do you think you can stomach it?

[ he made sure to grab the nearest food he had out in the kitchen, which happened to be fruit. something light. ]

[mapsio]

[Haru knows logically that she should eat, that she needed to get some food in her and take care of herself. But right now? The thought of food is the furthest thing from what she really wants.]

I don't really know.

[She ponders it. Holding her hand out. Haru is cursing herself for not keeping her usual demeanor, even if she knows no one would blame her right now.]

A few bites should be okay.

[talim]

[ it's all right. more than anything, jude appreciates haru's honesty. he wouldn't ask for anything more. ]

Just a few bites is enough. It's better than nothing.

[ after handing her the apple, jude stands up and moves to sit beside her. he rests a hand on her back, rubbing up and down, and doesn't say anything else. ]

[mapsio]

[She takes a deep breath before taking a bite of the apple. If it takes someone thirty seconds to chew a bite, it's taking Haru a minute. She hasn't been able to stomach food very well.]

Really, thank you for taking care of me.

[She doesn't flinch this time when he touches her, convincing her body not to react that way. It's just Jude, and Jude is safe.]

Weren't we in this very situation in the first world we traveled to? You taking care of me.

[Except it wasn't this bad.]

What did I tell you? There's no need to thank me.

[ but jude smiles, anyway. ]

... Come to think of it, you're right. It was during the attacks on Aimintas. That was when I met Madoka, too.

[mapsio]

[Haru is still so, so worried about Madoka. She was probably in the worst shape of them all.]

Perhaps one day it will be the other way around, but, I will not hope for a situation like that.

[talim]

[ haru isn't the only one who's worried about her. ]

Let's certainly hope not, but I'm grateful for the sentiment alone.

[Haru feels guilty, she feels like she should have done more.

And so quietly:]

I feel like I should have tried to protect Madoka-chan more.

[She swallows thickly, turning the apple around in her hand. There was nothing she could have done. There was nothing that was possible. Those monitors were cruel.]

You did everything you could. Everything. You would have gone above and beyond to protect not only Madoka, but any one of those eleven other people. You're kind, Haru. One of the kindest people I know.

[mapsio]

It doesn't fix what happened to her.

[She's blaming herself so hard. Even if it wasn't her fault. She's blaming herself.


Haru is far too tired for common sense right now.]

... No. No, it doesn't.

[ and that's... that's all jude can really say. it's the unfortunate reality of the situation. the silence that falls over them is heavy, thick like a blanket and almost stifling. ]
