[WORLD ONE | OCTOBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members and old blood
Where: In and around the hub island
When: Day 92
Open/Closed: Open to All
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repercussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.
Where: In and around the hub island
When: Day 92
Open/Closed: Open to All
This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What is at first painfully obvious is that you're ill-equipped. Any magic or powers you had previously are suddenly replaced with an empty hole in your being. That's not all that's gone, but perhaps that's what's most pressing. Another thing you may notice is that there are others just like you, wandering around and just as confused. If you feel so inclined, you may want to ask around and see if anyone else knows what's up.
B ▢ Let's say that instead of milling about and doing nothing entirely productive, your character has decided to try and venture off to find a way off this huge floating rock. That's nice -- but be warned that the forest is filled with interesting things. For instance, they've happened to find a hollowed out tree that happens to be where a hoard of land crabs are living. They move fast -- run quick! C ▢ Other characters may want to establish shelter before they do anything else -- and that's their right! The problem is that if your character wants to be well-supplied, they're going to have to do things for themselves. There's something of an assembly line set up, but not a lot has been done in way of making things workable. Genette wanted all new coven members to have a little food parcel to take to their hut, but time constraints, you know? If you want any food for now -- or for later -- you may want to cook some of this (poisonous) eel, salt some boar jerky or cut into one of these rabbits. You've also got some berries to eat in the meantime, if you want something simple! |
By the time afternoon sets in, everyone should be a little more adjusted -- or, they should at least be a little more aware of the situation. From there, things still need to be done and exploring is always an option!
E ▢ If you mill about too long, you'll be put to work. Run into Genette and you'll be sent to pick western part of the island to look for strawberries, wheat and deer (good luck hunting if your character doesn't have the capabilities, but maybe someone else can help?). Run into Genette and she'll offer your character an ax to chop wood with (is this a wise idea? probably not), or a request to go fishing in either a stream or the ocean attached to the island on the eastern side. Or your character can do both if they so choose...? F ▢ With all of these new people milling about, telepathy is on the fritz again. At least, it certainly is for those who are new! Your character may not realize their broadcasting frustrations to the network, or maybe a stupid secret. Their mental filter is certainly broken, but that's at least a great conversation starter.

[ He shares a mental image of a towering machine that loomed high over head. He files that away what the kid is telling him as he falls into an easy lope. They’re nearly there.
He slows down, digging metal claws into the dirt to help slow him down. A faint click issues from under his feets as he comes to a stop before camp.]
It took a lot of getting used to. But, in worlds we can’t use what we’re used to we might need the edge. What power did you get assigned?
no subject
He shakes himself out of his stupor after a moment then hops off the lion head, landing swiftly on his feet. ]
Sort of the same thing. Except a dragon instead of a robot lion. But you can still remember who you are with everything, right?
[ His worst fear is that he won't be able to control his own transformation, especially when he still can't figure out how to activate it. ]
What do you even do to shift like this?
no subject
[He walks slowly past the boundary. A dragon is a living creature and every power is different. Yet, he hasn't heard of any shapeshifter's mind being taken. Every memory he can recall is mostly clear. The same as always.
His tail swishes back and forth. He stops its movement with a thought.]
I start by thinking about how seeing through the Lion's eyes felt. Feeling what the lion felt. It's possible you need to look at the world like you think a dragon would.
no subject
Think I'd rather hold off on thinking like one for now. I'm not that into the whole lizard look anyway.
[ His eyes catch the metal tail swishing from side to side behind Shiro before fighting the small, amused smile that threatens to break out. Metal or not, he's still just a bit kitten, and it takes every ounce of effort not to pet him right now.
He miiiiight have a small soft spot for cats. ]
How long are you planning on staying like that? Not that I mind the lift. It's just kind of weird talking to you like this.
[ Anyone passing by causally might think he's insane at the moment. ]
no subject
[He returns to his usual self and rolls his shoulder, popping it. It feels a little weird but he'd been changing back and forth all day. There's always a disconnected feeling at first.]
Sorry, I was going to change back immediately but I wanted to finish my thought. I have a weird disconnect for a little while when I change. Given I go from human to robot and back, probably why.
no subject
Uh, thanks, might take you up on it some time.
[ It wouldn't hurt to have a transformation coach, especially since Gladio doesn't seem to be around here anywhere, meaning he doesn't exactly have anyone to rely on for training and instruction.
Which reminds him- ]
Sorry, I'm Ray Jack, hunter. All that.
[ He awkwardly holds out a hand, hoping the more times he introduces himself as 'Ray Jack,' the more natural it'll sound. ]

You might want to talk to Geir about dragons sometime. He might be able to help you or at least, you’ll get to see a dragon of a different world.
[He rather liked what he’s seen of Geir. He’s a pretty cool individual to talk to boot.]
I can’t help you learn to fly...I’m still figuring that out myself.
no subject
[ Mostly through trial and error, which is why he'd like his attempts to be as private as possible. No one needs to see him flapping his arms around like a moron, least of all people he'd just met. ]
I'll keep the name in mind. Thanks again for the lift.
[ He gestures mutely to all the crabs in his hands, grateful he didn't have to trek so far with them. Not that that will stop him from smelling pretty rank later. He really hopes someone finds a good source for running water soon because a sink bath isn't going to do him justice.
All concerns for another time as he gives the guy a nod of departure in lieu of having any hands free to wave. He'll have to check out and see what more that robot lion can do sometime. ]
