[WORLD ONE | OCTOBER INTRO LOG]
Who: The new coven members and old blood
Where: In and around the hub island
When: Day 92
Open/Closed: Open to All
All characters are told briefly what their powers are by Genette -- no extemporaneous details. For instance, if your character has the ability to detect lies, they'll be told as such -- no warning about limitations, repercussions or the like. They'll also be given a variant of this letter so they aren't totally ignorant of the situation -- though of course adapt this letter to the current setting and surroundings of the game.
Where: In and around the hub island
When: Day 92
Open/Closed: Open to All
This setting may be familiar to you -- maybe you caught a glimpse of it when you first visited. Maybe this is your first time experiencing this weird world and the panic is setting in. If you're totally lost, a tall human woman with a long scroll of paper will stop by to give you the run down. She'll also give you a letter, which may give you more questions than answers since the information is a wee out of date. (Maybe someone else can fill in some gaps for you). What is at first painfully obvious is that you're ill-equipped. Any magic or powers you had previously are suddenly replaced with an empty hole in your being. That's not all that's gone, but perhaps that's what's most pressing. Another thing you may notice is that there are others just like you, wandering around and just as confused. If you feel so inclined, you may want to ask around and see if anyone else knows what's up.
B ▢ Let's say that instead of milling about and doing nothing entirely productive, your character has decided to try and venture off to find a way off this huge floating rock. That's nice -- but be warned that the forest is filled with interesting things. For instance, they've happened to find a hollowed out tree that happens to be where a hoard of land crabs are living. They move fast -- run quick! C ▢ Other characters may want to establish shelter before they do anything else -- and that's their right! The problem is that if your character wants to be well-supplied, they're going to have to do things for themselves. There's something of an assembly line set up, but not a lot has been done in way of making things workable. Genette wanted all new coven members to have a little food parcel to take to their hut, but time constraints, you know? If you want any food for now -- or for later -- you may want to cook some of this (poisonous) eel, salt some boar jerky or cut into one of these rabbits. You've also got some berries to eat in the meantime, if you want something simple! |
By the time afternoon sets in, everyone should be a little more adjusted -- or, they should at least be a little more aware of the situation. From there, things still need to be done and exploring is always an option!
E ▢ If you mill about too long, you'll be put to work. Run into Genette and you'll be sent to pick western part of the island to look for strawberries, wheat and deer (good luck hunting if your character doesn't have the capabilities, but maybe someone else can help?). Run into Genette and she'll offer your character an ax to chop wood with (is this a wise idea? probably not), or a request to go fishing in either a stream or the ocean attached to the island on the eastern side. Or your character can do both if they so choose...? F ▢ With all of these new people milling about, telepathy is on the fritz again. At least, it certainly is for those who are new! Your character may not realize their broadcasting frustrations to the network, or maybe a stupid secret. Their mental filter is certainly broken, but that's at least a great conversation starter.

[ Wait -- ]
Are you saying the Robin you know is the Robin Hood of legend?
no subject
[She smiles.]
If you're talking ancient, though, the Heroic Spirit I was contracted with before then was called 'Gilgamesh.'
no subject
However--
Heroic Spirits such as Robin Hood, such as Gilgamesh. His eyes widen, slivers of white. ]
Of Uruk?
[ What else? The Epic of Gilgamesh. A strange shape in the line of his mouth, something abandoned. The feeling had begun with Robin Hood, but accelerates dramatically with Gilgamesh -- he would thrill for this. That much must keep true, with how he kept loyal only to Agnika Kaieru, only to Bael.
The Story of him who knew the most of all men know, he thinks, the sound of the thought in another's voice, from another time, the chord of memory sending reverberations deep. But the muscles that would shape a nostalgic, even fond smile were long cut, paralyzed, unresponsive. Instead, his fingers twitch at his side. ]
I know someone who might like to hear that.
[ His voice sounds... strange to his own ears. But he won't elaborate. ]
Was he impressive, Gilgamesh? Or are you more impressive for commanding him?
no subject
[She huffs out a small laugh.]
'Impressive' is definitely one way to put it. Golden armor, a nigh endless weaponry, a Noble Phantasm of cosmic scale... he was probably one of the strongest Servants I could have crossed paths with, even if his abilities had deteriorated from his hibernation at first. ...terrible personality, though.
[She looks up, her expression serious and earnest.]
I cannot emphasize that part enough. He's got a terrible personality. He's rude, arrogant, an enemy to all women, petulant, smug, and he never once let me forget that I was going to die as soon as our contract ended. The very first time we met, he threatened to cut me into eighths for having the audacity to look at him, speak to him, and question him.
[She shakes her head, sighing, but a helpless smile creeps back up.]
...in the end though, like I said, he did save me and take me away from all of that. He's contrary and cruel, snide and self-centered, but I do miss him, after everything. I don't know if I'm impressive, or if I just have impressive amounts of patience after everything that's happened.
no subject
The personality, however.
Another twitch, but now in the disuse of his lips.
That someone would appreciate that less, he thinks. Is it because they had miscast Gilgamesh in the legends, or that this alternate version was as different as his universe? Surely one's deeds were more important than the words spoken or attitude worn during them, but that man had seemed to admire heroes as much for their strength of spirit and kindness, as for their sheer power.
Had seemed to.
That fleeting levity, that twitch, smoothing out again. No, he might not mind this at all, as long as Gilgamesh still retained his incredible power. The King of Heroes, indeed. ]
Did he make empty threats?
[ As to the threat to cut her into eighths, given that he hadn't. Given that, instead, he'd taken her away. If not so distracted by the scattering of his own mind, he might have been surprised to realize Gilgamesh was the one who had saved her, and urged her to live happily. It does still seem that his personality cannot be all that bad.
Instead, he keeps mild, observational. Apparently detached. ]
It might not be either or. Both impressive, and impressively patient.
no subject
[Her shoulders shake with more, stifled laughter because she can picture him saying that with crystal clear detail.]
Ah... thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
no subject
[ As little as Gaelio now invested in questions of what leadership should look like, the rightness of order upheld, that much stirs. Changing one's mind toward mercy and justice, perhaps, but not selfish self-contradiction as a right of rule. ]
Hm. Sure.
[ Easily, not quite smiling. ]
But... before. Your Robin Hood is here?
no subject
[She shrugs, a bit helpless. There's so much to say, but she's not quite sure it's her place to share it.]
But yes, my Robin Hood is here.
[Possibly literally right here, if he's sneaking around, too...
She'll keep mum on that for now, though.]
As you might imagine, he has a green cloak. He also has red hair, with bangs over half his face, if you want to say hi sometime.
no subject
Then again, is it so surprising? A man who would neglect his rule to focus entirely on finding a means to evade death -- when by dying, he might have again met Enkidu --
but Gaelio has not met any Gilgamesh, knows nothing more than what he's read and presently been told. It also does not matter, the nature of that demigod, outside of this nostalgia he'd rather tamp down, regardless. So leaving it at her shrug is fine by him. ]
I'm more interested in how well he knows this place...
[ than in greeting a legend. As, when he'd asked her, she spoke of Robin Hood. ]
but, noted.
no subject
[read: overtly rich and entitled]
I don't think Robin would mind sharing information. But let me know if he kicks up a fuss for some reason and I'll be happy to mediate.
no subject
[ Shouldn't be a problem. ]
I appreciate it. See you around, Hakuno.
no subject
[Just don't call him that to his face.]
Take care, Gaelio.
