[WORLD ONE | DING DONG THE FISH IS DEAD]

Who: Coven members and the Palai
Where: Celebrating the Uvi going boom-boom
When: Day 67
Open/Closed: Open to All
OOC Note:

  • The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
  • There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

For decades, the Palai have had to deal with the threat of the Uvi invading their homes, killing their families and returning 30 days later. After the coven found their way to Aimintas, the Palai found that the threat wasn't so...threatening.

After the last attack, with many more Palai lost as compared to previous Uvi instances, some Palai had lost hope. Now, after seeing their nemesis blown to bits and falling out of the ocean, their faith in safety is restored.

While the Uvi are still committed (by and large) to learning more about barriers and other forms of safety, the time for focusing on serious things has passed. It will return, but tonight? They celebrate.

Unlike their last, shrimpy festival, this party has a lot more going for it. The Palai have had time to process the events and prepare themselves for a grand celebration. The Palai know how to party, but you ain't seen nothin' like this.

A ▢ As a birthday tradition, the Palai give the birthday lizard a special concoction. It contains Elto energy and a combination of found herbs that can easily be located in Aimintas. When these herbs are combined with the Elto energy, they create a sort of...hallucinogenic experience. It's supposed to feel extremely relaxing and give the Palai pleasant visions, but in human bodies it's essentially just getting high. There are vials of these being passed around like candy, so don't worry about anyone running out.

B ▢ Despite the adults getting lit, there are obviously a lot of baby Palai on the lose. Responsible coven members who have their own babies will have the ability to let them run wild and play with their lizardy cousins. If you want to spend time with your baby, the nursery caretakers have platters of crackers with mushy foods adorning them -- these are essentially candy to a tiny Palai. They may also be tempted by other foods present at the festivities, but you can avoid them getting a tummy ache if you have a watchful eye.

C ▢ Speaking of food, there certainly is a lot of it. There are large grills being heated by the newly found bone structures. These hold shrimp and fish, grilled vegetable skewers and other foods. Instead of the Palai doing the serving, the coven members and other Palai are instead encouraged to utilize their own raw ingredients (which includes several large sharks, dolphins, etc.) in whatever fashion they choose. It's essentially a "build-your-own-kabob" station with no limits.

D ▢ Because the party is lasting on into the night, some Elto have decided to light the marketplace with some of the bone structures they found by powering them and inserting them into small cloth bags that they then magically levitate around. While they provide a powerful light source that can increase the party's longevity, they're also floating live wires. Bump into one of these and you'll get a nasty shock! This is doubly concerning since Palai babies are fascinated by following these floating "toys."

E ▢ The Palai, feeling more familial and supportive of their ideals than ever, haven't let go of the whole family/romance pushing on the coven. Their newest attempt is a bit of a prank (probably due to high Palais) who have taken magic bone structures and tied thick strings to the spines that poke out of them. At the end of these strings are loops that they're quickly slipping around the wrists of coven members they find. You may find that you're suddenly magically connected to someone -- or two other people if you're lucky enough -- by a magical thread that's VERY hard to slip out of or break.

F ▢ Wildcard Part 1: Other previous party prompts can also be considered here, from the rolls that make magic go haywire to the aged liquor that causes a bit more than a headache.

G ▢ Wildcard Part 2: Any prompt you like!

Well, sometimes that's really all we can do. Information is vital.

[It does leave a bitter taste, though.]
    teratias: (14. Science)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
It is, but being in the dark like this is...[It's this thing where if you fuck up and don't know you're doing it, that's way worse because the excuse of I didn't know is weak.

At least, that's what Waver might say if he could articulate the thought. As it is, he just stays quiet for a long moment.]

I dunno. I'm probably killing this party mood too.
    sealeted: (gonna toss you around)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
It just finished raining corpses and magic bone constructs.

    [It's a weird party.]
    teratias: (12. Breathe out)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
...That's a good point. But I can hear Rider giving me crap.
    sealeted: (diamonds on the floor)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's fine. We can put it aside for one night.
    teratias: (15. Regular conversation)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Waver tries to shake himself out of his usual thought pattern. Shrimp party and Qri's motives are the opposite of a Rider style party.]

Mmm. Now, if I were him I'd be dragging a barrel of wine about, but I don't think there's ocean wine.
sealeted: (all the violence that I swore)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Gilgamesh always seemed to have a chalice handy.

[With his fancy magic vault and whatnot.]
    teratias: (11. Annoyed)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, he did that to upstage Rider when Rider decided to have a drinking and debate party.
sealeted: (if you don't want me though)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah that, uh... that sure does sound like him.

    [She sighs.]

On a better note, try she shrimp in the pink sauce.
    teratias: (07. Grabbing a book)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
    Why is he like that?

[But. Pink sauce. Waver didn't grab any, so he looks to Hakuno for permission before dunking.]

    May I?
    sealeted: (the same way)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"It is the unparalleled privilege of the King," is probably what he'd say if asked, I'd bet.

[She slides her little sauce dish over to him.]

    Feel free.
    teratias: (02. Excited)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I can hear it in his voice too. Ugh. Ugh.

[Thank god for pink sauce. Waver dunks, and shoves the whole thing in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.]

    Woah that's really good.
    sealeted: (diamonds on the floor)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, my impression of him is horrifically accurate.

    [It's like an infection.]

    Right?!
    teratias: (11. Annoyed)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
It is, and I can't even say never do it again because one day, it might be useful to think like that.

[He hates saying those words, but who knows what Qri'll get them into next.]

Do you have any idea what's in the sauce, or do we have to shake down a lizard for the recipe?
    sealeted: ('til I'm dead)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
    ...ugh. It's true, but...

[The Gilgamesh Way is a dark path to tread.]

We'll have to flag a chef. ...if we want to risk knowing the ingredients.
    teratias: (12. Breathe out)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[It's all fine until someone dies. Then you're screwed.]

...let's ask tomorrow then. That way everything is digested and then we only have to deal with regret.
    sealeted: (if you're waving hello)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Good plan. Ah, did you want any vegetables?
    teratias: (15. Regular conversation)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
    There were vegetables?!
    sealeted: (from these stars)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-14 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
    ...blinded by shrimp?
    teratias: (13. External screaming)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-14 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...Maybe. I mean, it's good shrimp, and there isn't any back on the hub.
    sealeted: (one thing more)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-18 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
...is there a place to breed them? Maybe we could take some back.
    teratias: (06. Thinking)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-18 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. I don't recall seeing any bodies of water. The beach just drops off into space, after all.
sealeted: (all the violence that I swore)

    [personal profile] sealeted 2017-09-19 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
    Maybe... a tank?

    [She shakes her head.]

No, you'd need to change the water eventually. Hm. I guess... eat up while you can?
    teratias: (Default)

    [personal profile] teratias 2017-09-19 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm, and it'd need to be salt water.

[No shrimp heaven back on the hub.]

Clearly that's the only option. This is all so much better than living off take out and dorm food.
