[WORLD ONE | DING DONG THE FISH IS DEAD]
Who: Coven members and the Palai
Where: Celebrating the Uvi going boom-boom
When: Day 67
Open/Closed: Open to All
OOC Note:

The initial setting information found here should be utilized for threads here.
There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!
Where: Celebrating the Uvi going boom-boom
When: Day 67
Open/Closed: Open to All
OOC Note:

For decades, the Palai have had to deal with the threat of the Uvi invading their homes, killing their families and returning 30 days later. After the coven found their way to Aimintas, the Palai found that the threat wasn't so...threatening. After the last attack, with many more Palai lost as compared to previous Uvi instances, some Palai had lost hope. Now, after seeing their nemesis blown to bits and falling out of the ocean, their faith in safety is restored. While the Uvi are still committed (by and large) to learning more about barriers and other forms of safety, the time for focusing on serious things has passed. It will return, but tonight? They celebrate. Unlike their last, shrimpy festival, this party has a lot more going for it. The Palai have had time to process the events and prepare themselves for a grand celebration. The Palai know how to party, but you ain't seen nothin' like this.
B ▢ Despite the adults getting lit, there are obviously a lot of baby Palai on the lose. Responsible coven members who have their own babies will have the ability to let them run wild and play with their lizardy cousins. If you want to spend time with your baby, the nursery caretakers have platters of crackers with mushy foods adorning them -- these are essentially candy to a tiny Palai. They may also be tempted by other foods present at the festivities, but you can avoid them getting a tummy ache if you have a watchful eye. C ▢ Speaking of food, there certainly is a lot of it. There are large grills being heated by the newly found bone structures. These hold shrimp and fish, grilled vegetable skewers and other foods. Instead of the Palai doing the serving, the coven members and other Palai are instead encouraged to utilize their own raw ingredients (which includes several large sharks, dolphins, etc.) in whatever fashion they choose. It's essentially a "build-your-own-kabob" station with no limits. D ▢ Because the party is lasting on into the night, some Elto have decided to light the marketplace with some of the bone structures they found by powering them and inserting them into small cloth bags that they then magically levitate around. While they provide a powerful light source that can increase the party's longevity, they're also floating live wires. Bump into one of these and you'll get a nasty shock! This is doubly concerning since Palai babies are fascinated by following these floating "toys." E ▢ The Palai, feeling more familial and supportive of their ideals than ever, haven't let go of the whole family/romance pushing on the coven. Their newest attempt is a bit of a prank (probably due to high Palais) who have taken magic bone structures and tied thick strings to the spines that poke out of them. At the end of these strings are loops that they're quickly slipping around the wrists of coven members they find. You may find that you're suddenly magically connected to someone -- or two other people if you're lucky enough -- by a magical thread that's VERY hard to slip out of or break. F ▢ Wildcard Part 1: Other previous party prompts can also be considered here, from the rolls that make magic go haywire to the aged liquor that causes a bit more than a headache. G ▢ Wildcard Part 2: Any prompt you like! |

[Taking an egg was stressful enough, but now that it's hatched and already active, he's dying. Jake looks haggard as he chases a tiny lizard who is trying to put food they shouldn't have into their mouth.]
You're too young for that I think! [He doesn't even know for sure but he's very afraid of something happening.] Please put it down!
[The Palai child seems to think their father-person is playing a game with them, though, so whoops.]
[E for Entangled]
[The good news is that he found people happy to take the baby off his hands. The bad news is that his hands are now occupied with that odd loop. He doesn't seem to realise it's connected to someone, only that he's now shackled.]
Do you have something sharp...?
[He's asking without looking up from his efforts to pull it off, not knowing he is probably connected to you.]
E
[That deep, smooth and somber voice should sound familiar. The same loop is tight around Jumin's wrist, visible only because of the glass of wine he holds close to his chest.]
Good evening, Jake. Have you eaten?
no subject
Oh! Good evening. Um, no, I haven't yet... [Though, somehow it's weird to hear someone who doesn't carry weapons.] I've been running up and down all day.

[Why does Haru carry an axe around? Who knows really. It's a useful thing!] Plus it might be a little too big.
Forgive me, Jake. Good evening.

[Roxy uses large guns and Jane uses large polearms so he isn't too surprised but axes tend to be on the heavier side.]

[Fond memories of what felt like ages ago.]
I use them at home too, I just have't gotten the chance to find out if I can get it back here.

Observing the scene from the back, he realizes he probably could sneak up on Jake's tiny lizard before something happens. He's successful...except the fact that his own newly hatched lizard takes the opportunity and climbs down his body to the ground to go food hunting.
Is this really how parenting should look like... ]
No, don't...!
no subject
Ah, hold your horses, you little sprout!
[He dashes forward and manages to catch Hibiki's Palai child by the scruff of their neck, though he winds up on the ground for his troubles but he's not letting go at least?]
no subject
I'm sorry for causing you trouble, you didn't have to...you know.
[ Fall on the ground just to grab the little Palai, that's what he wanted to say. Then, Hibiki offers his hand to help Jake up, smiling sheepishly. ] Who would have thought that they'll be so active.
[ Or, more like, hyperactive. ]

Well, when I was a scamp, I certainly enjoyed some roughhousing but this just makes me feel old.
[Says the 16-year-old boy.]

Got you, bro.

Thanks, Strider. Little rascal might be nothing to your speed but they've got a knack for beating a hasty retreat.

There's a size advantage on evasion.
no subject
Ah, yes. Righto. [A beat before his entire posture droops.] Please help me? I really can't do this by myself and I didn't want to ask you since I'm certain you're not too eager for it but...

[Lenka stumbles a little when the little lizard runs smack into his knees, but manages to keep his balance rather than crashlanding in a very undignified and probably unhealthy manner -- he's successfully avoided all firsthand egg shenanigans, but that doesn't mean he can avoid any of the actual consequences. The coven that childrears together dies together, or something.
This really isn't what he thought they'd be doing with the city a-shambles and everything! Anyway.
He's forced to dance around the little Palai scrambling around his feet; the child then starts to bawl because... they dropped their food, through every fault of their own. Lenka takes the opportunity to quickly clean the food off the ground, just in case one of the other small lizards running around gets it into their heads to play finders keepers. They're uncannily like human kids...]
Sorry. Don't cry, it doesn't taste good, I promise.
[Jake gets a bit of a distressed look. A few kids (human or not) Lenka can handle, but he's starting to get frazzled by the scale of this.]
no subject
Um! He's right, you know. We'll get you some tasty grub instead, okay? Um... We could kiss it better?
[That last one is a bit desperate but the child seems intrigued by it and looks between them. It's only then that Jake realises he said 'we'. Oops.]
Uh. Fuck.
[He also doesn't know children shouldn't hear swear words.]
no subject
(You're becoming an eccentric hermit in his estimation, Jake.)
Considering who they are and where they are, the swear word is the least of their worries right now. Lenka thinks for a moment, then gives the Palai child a smile that's maybe just a little conspiratorial. Enough to get a toddler's interest, anyway.]
He can take care of the kisses, right? [he tilts his head at Jake with a mock-straight face and the kid giggles, caught up now in the plan] I can take care of the food.

B!
Nike will notice it as quickly once she felt the small child leave the safety of her back which it was holding onto a moment ago.]
Airis?
[The name of the child that had decided to join in the fun with its new playmate by attempting to raise onto two legs for a split moment, asking to take the item from them as a form of keep away, before returning onto the ground on all fours once more where it'll stomps its feet excitedly at the thought of playing.]
