There's no official OOC account for the Palai people. You're free to roleplay their actions and reactions on your own, as in depth as you want -- asking questions, hand-waved interactions, becoming best friends. The new world is your oyster!

For decades, the Palai have had to deal with the threat of the Uvi invading their homes, killing their families and returning 30 days later. After the coven found their way to Aimintas, the Palai found that the threat wasn't so...threatening. After the last attack, with many more Palai lost as compared to previous Uvi instances, some Palai had lost hope. Now, after seeing their nemesis blown to bits and falling out of the ocean, their faith in safety is restored. While the Uvi are still committed (by and large) to learning more about barriers and other forms of safety, the time for focusing on serious things has passed. It will return, but tonight? They celebrate. Unlike their last, shrimpy festival, this party has a lot more going for it. The Palai have had time to process the events and prepare themselves for a grand celebration. The Palai know how to party, but you ain't seen nothin' like this. A ▢ As a birthday tradition, the Palai give the birthday lizard a special concoction. It contains Elto energy and a combination of found herbs that can easily be located in Aimintas. When these herbs are combined with the Elto energy, they create a sort of...hallucinogenic experience. It's supposed to feel extremely relaxing and give the Palai pleasant visions, but in human bodies it's essentially just getting high. There are vials of these being passed around like candy, so don't worry about anyone running out. B ▢ Despite the adults getting lit, there are obviously a lot of baby Palai on the lose. Responsible coven members who have their own babies will have the ability to let them run wild and play with their lizardy cousins. If you want to spend time with your baby, the nursery caretakers have platters of crackers with mushy foods adorning them -- these are essentially candy to a tiny Palai. They may also be tempted by other foods present at the festivities, but you can avoid them getting a tummy ache if you have a watchful eye. C ▢ Speaking of food, there certainly is a lot of it. There are large grills being heated by the newly found bone structures. These hold shrimp and fish, grilled vegetable skewers and other foods. Instead of the Palai doing the serving, the coven members and other Palai are instead encouraged to utilize their own raw ingredients (which includes several large sharks, dolphins, etc.) in whatever fashion they choose. It's essentially a "build-your-own-kabob" station with no limits. D ▢ Because the party is lasting on into the night, some Elto have decided to light the marketplace with some of the bone structures they found by powering them and inserting them into small cloth bags that they then magically levitate around. While they provide a powerful light source that can increase the party's longevity, they're also floating live wires. Bump into one of these and you'll get a nasty shock! This is doubly concerning since Palai babies are fascinated by following these floating "toys." E ▢ The Palai, feeling more familial and supportive of their ideals than ever, haven't let go of the whole family/romance pushing on the coven. Their newest attempt is a bit of a prank (probably due to high Palais) who have taken magic bone structures and tied thick strings to the spines that poke out of them. At the end of these strings are loops that they're quickly slipping around the wrists of coven members they find. You may find that you're suddenly magically connected to someone -- or two other people if you're lucky enough -- by a magical thread that's VERY hard to slip out of or break. Yes, it's me. I came to kill the party.

[ All of a sudden, he tries to sound serious but the chuckle at the very end kind of ruins it. ]

Stop me if you can.

[ With all the strength he has left, Hibiki tries to pull away from Jude but, of course, he's not getting anywhere far. ]

You're powerful, doctor.

You don't have to keep calling me doc—

[ wait, why can't he move?

then jude notices the string. ]

Uh. What is that?

You don't want your patients to see you having fun?

[ This question sounded much funnier in his head, honestly. Which doesn't exactly stop him from giggling anyway. ]

What is what? [ Hibiki blinks a few times. ] No idea. Friendship bracelets?

[ jude is both surprised and happy that hibiki warmed up to the idea of friendship so quickly, but... ]

No, I don't think that's it.

[ he attempts to pry himself apart from hibiki's side, but his arm won't budge. ]

Huh.

[ he could either worry about this now, or he could take another sip from the vial going around and worry about it later.

the latter sounds far more appealing at the moment. ]

[ Hibiki, wary of the contents of the vial he's been given at first, isn't really bothered by it currently, and follows Jude, taking a long sip himself. ]

This is so much better than the speed dating. [ He rests his head on Jude's, smiling softly. ] They even brought the giant cupcakes.

[ What giant cupcakes. Hibiki what do your amber eyes see. ]

[ jude breathes a pleasant hum, nuzzling his cheek against hibiki's head. they make for quite an interesting picture. it's a good thing no one seems to have a camera. ]

The giant...

[ jude pauses, searching around. ]

I don't see them. Are you sure?

[secrowtary]

[ If somebody had one...oh my. ]

Of course. There's one just a few steps away from us. [ He's even going to point where it is. Except, instead of a giant cupcake, there's a Palai standing here. And they don't look like a cupcake at all. ] See? It looks delicious...

[ HIBIKI??? ]

[talim]

Hibiki... Hibiki.

[ jude whispers, hushed. ]

That's a Palai.

Don't eat the Palai.

[secrowtary]

What are you talking about? It's a fine double chocolate cupcake. I can't see any Palai...weird, where did they all go?

[ SUSPICIOUS. ]

Oh, maybe they're off doing Palai stuff.

[ Like speed dating. ]

[talim]

No. Seriously. They're right there.

[ even inebriated, jude is growing mildly concerned. ]

How much did you have?

[secrowtary]

I stopped counting after the first one.

[ It hit him hard, that goes without saying. ]

Oh, little croissants crawling on the ground. I wonder if the five seconds rule applies in this case.

[ Thankfully they're too far for him to reach. ]

[talim]

It does. It definitely does. Please don't eat them.

[ congrats, hibiki, you practically killed his buzz and now he has to play mom. ]

[secrowtary]

[ KILLED HIS BUZZ. You're welcome, Jude. Also don't worry, Hibiki will play mom for you too, one day. ]

Can I at least slice them open and see the filling?

[ Don't do drugs, kids. Just...don't. ]

Sorry, but I'm going to have to say no. You'll be alright.

[ jude moves to gently clap his hand on the back and — no, his wrist is definitely being weighed down by something. ]

Hey, Hibiki? Are you sure you don't feel that?

[secrowtary]

You're no fun.

[ That...coming from Hibiki...well, that sure is something. Blame it on the herbs. ]

I don't feel what?

[ The only thing he feels is his eyelids getting heavier so he's going to close his eyes just for a moment. ]

[talim]

[ jude is plenty of fun, thanks, but he'll save that argument for another time. ]

[ jude yanks his arm hard enough to jostle hibiki awake. ]

[secrowtary]

Oh. Just don't tell my boyfriend and we'll be fine.

Don't worry, I—

What? You have a boyfriend? Since when? Why didn't you tell me about this?

[ yeah, hibiki, why did you leave jude out of that gossip???? and here he was making jokes about second dates. jude is kind of mortified. how will his boyfriend react to the fact that they are quite literally stuck together? he has so many questions his head is spinning. ]

was that subtle enough!!

Do I have a boyfriend? Well...

[ This is clearly the best moment to doze off. Just in the middle of a conversation. Because why not. ]

hibiki is killing me

[ jude makes a sad attempt at shaking him awake. he can never be too rough. ]

Hibiki. Hibiki! Wake up! What part of we are stuck together don't you understand?

good, that's his job...i mean wait what

I do understand that part! [ Huffs. ] Since...um...a month or something?

[ He hasn't opened his eyes but at least he's giving Jude fairly coherent answers??? ]

[ jude looks at him like he's crazy — he's pretty sure they haven't been tied together for a month — before he realizes he's likely talking about his relationship status. ]

[ he means it. ]

But I'm concerned that you don't seem to think this situation is a problem.

[secrowtary]

We'll be fine. It's probably the Palai and their another attempt at helping us finding potential mates.

[ Said as casually as only one can be about such a thing. ]

That... makes sense...

[ jude looks down at both their hands. ]

But you really aren't bothered by it?

[secrowtary]

Why should I be? You're warm. If you were cold, then I'd complain.

[ What does it have to do with anything? And that's not what Jude's asking about??? ]
