[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.

As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.

She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.

But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

In his hand he has his mission assignment, a paper slightly crinkled after he'd taken out a little of his anxiety on the page. A. Because you look like a nice person He smiles more easily when he realizes that he's not offending the person he's talking to, and looks down at his paper a second to refresh himself on what he needs to do. ] Uhm, sorry to bother you, but my task is to heal some people with my quir-erm, my magic. Do you or does anyone you know have any scrapes or bruises they'd like taken care of? B. Because you actually look scary AF from a new vantage Uh- [ He freezes up, crushing the paper in his hand. ] H-Hi! S... Sorry, you, I, uhm. Wow! I think I left the oven on in the kitchen? [ orihime definitely appears to be a nice person, yes! she greets izuku with a gentle smile before looking on her person for any scrapes or bruises. ah... ]

Actually, there's one on my knee I got earlier after I tripped over a tree root, haha! I'm so clumsy...but at least it'll help with your mission, right?

R-really? [ SOMEONE SAID YES! ] Yeah, definitely! I'm not really sure how long this will take, hmm.. [ He glances around. ] Do you mind if I have you sit for this? I've never actually tried it before so I don't know what's required or what'll happen. I'm pretty sure there's a log over this way... [ He wanders a bit, sure that Orihime will follow. ] If not a log then a rock...

[ orihime follows him, and there's a big rock on the ground in front of them. ] Right here is fine! [ she takes a seat, smoothing out her skirt first before sticking her leg out to show izuku the scrape. it's nothing major, just red and a bit scratched up. ]

Yeah, that's perfect! Just... give me a minute.... I just need to figure out exactly how I want to go about this. I guess if I think about magic like a quirk but kind of different I should eventually come to the right solution. So I guess what I could do is shuffle through the list of quirks I know and try out their methods. So I guess the best place to start is ... Recovery... girl....? [ he pauses, blushes a little, then shakes his head. ] No that's a terrible idea!! Erhm... I'll just pretend it's magic. Abara...?? kadabra!!!? [ He gestures dramatically at Orihime's knee!!!!! And nothing happens!!!! ]

[ he's...mumbling something, and orihime can't quite make out what he's saying?? she blinks a few times, looking at him with wide eyes. ] Eh? Are you talking to--

[ and then he's going abra kadabra and pointing at her knee, but alas...

[ he's a healer, right? maybe...maybe orihime can help some! ]

Er- That obvious, huh? Ah.. yeah, I think that'd be a good idea, honestly. [ Actually iirc, i may have subconsciously based his magic on Orihime's healing, SO THIS WORKS RLY WELL. ]

[As an idol, Riku is used to being stopped by various (and usually quite nervous) people that see through his terrible disguises notice him in public, but the past few days have been just a little different. It's really rewarding to work together with others, he's found, so when the timid young man approaches him, he's quick to light up.]

You have healing magic too? That means we have something in common! [His smile is like sunshine over here.] I don't have any injuries, but I can try scraping myself with something so you can practice!

[ he waves his hands around, shaking his head insistently. ] N-no! That's fine, I'm sure I can find someone else that's already got a scrape. That's pretty cool, either way. I mean healing's not so common where I'm from, I don't think..... Is yours the same? Your mission, I mean.

Are you sure? It'll be healed up right away, so I really don't mind!

[But he laughs a touch sheepishly regardless.]

Healing like this only happens in stories where I'm from! But they told me that I need to heal two people with my voice, and I haven't even seen anyone who needs first aid or anything....

With your voice, huh? Why not just walk around while singing? [ TOTALLY ineffective for RP tho. ]

Yeah! I didn't think of that, but it would be easier than asking people one by one!

[Thinking more on it, though, the mission never said that he had to heal physical wounds.... and from what he's gathered, that may not be all there is to it.]

Uh, are you feeling anxious? Or nervous or anything like that. Some kind of negative feeling.

Er [ Yes? Like. Midoriya isn't an anxious ball of nerves necessarily, but it's hard not to be a little unnerved by being kidnapped, completely by your lonesome, and then stranded on a strange island for a few days, but... the people seem nice enough. ] I mean, I guess? I think it'd be hard not to be a little anxious about... everything happening here, you know?

Yeah, I know what you mean. [Believe him.] Then if you don't mind, let me try something really quickly!

[Taking a deep breath, he brings a hand to his chest and closes his eyes before beginning to sing a soothing melody in a lovely, clear voice. From what he's gathered, his new magic is supposed to not only physically heal those that listen, but also lift some of their mental strain or make them feel more relaxed. Riku has hardly had any practice with the magic portion of things, but even if it doesn't work, at least he's a good singer?!]

And by not being a healer back home ... do you mean you've never developed powers before? Or were you something else entirely?

It's nice to meet you, Giorno-san. Uh- Haha, I mean? [ Said fast but intelligible: ] Funny story I'm like a suuuper late bloomer back home as far as quirks go so I guess you could say that It's kinda like I never developed one since you know you're four when you get it but I was like 14, haha crazy right? B-but it makes sense still just given the nature of it. Erm- But- Kinda more the other thing. My quirk gives me a lot of strength that I can't totally handle; it's got nothing to do with healing. I don't know why my magic would suit me up with something I barely know anything about.

Probably because magic isn't really something you control, you only manipulate aspects of it .... at least, that's what I get from just observing people.

And that sounds like it's regulated and ... normal. You develop it as a kid and then you, what, practice it til adulthood? It's not hidden at all?
