[OPENING] magical training log
Who: Brie, whichever newbies want to show up.
Where: The beach.
When: Day 4
Open/Closed: OTA
Where: The beach.
When: Day 4
Open/Closed: OTA
[It's about noon on the island, based on the position of the sun. The newbies have had a few days to settle in, but that doesn't mean they've fully mastered their newfound abilities.
As much stock as Genette puts into telepathy, Brie is more concerned about their other newfound gifts. She's aggressively tried to wrangle as many newbies as possible onto the sandy shores of the beachfront area for some magic practice.
She's got a list of everyone's magic -- only a few vague notes, limitations are for you to discover -- and she's handing out missions for magic training. If you want to participate? Feel free. If you don't? Suit yourself.
But understanding your magic isn't just an activity that benefits the group. Learning your magic's abilities may be what stands between you and survival, which is something she makes perfectly clear.]

Brie had given him three things to transform: a hut, one of her swords, and a pair of pants. Easy enough, although he's tempted to just keep the sword as is; it's shinier and less bloody than his old one, lost in the jumble of beads he keeps in his pocket. The other two, though... ]
A.
[ It's the middle of the afternoon when Minato returns to the huts, knocking on the doors each in turn, testing the handle to see if it pulls open and if anybody is inside. ]
Anybody home...?
[ Hopefully not, because who would give him permission to mess with their home without the promise of being able to get it back?
> If somebody's inside, please answer before he whisks away the entire hut, leaving you sitting dumbfounded on the bed or sprawled onto the sand out in the open, hello.
> If no one's there, perhaps you walk by, seeing Minato standing there in front of an empty gap in the row of huts. Any furniture that was inside is still left, but the hut itself? Mm... He's walking away from the crime scene; the mission was only to turn things into beads, not back. He'll fix it later... maybe. ]
B.
[ Part two of the mission. laughs, Minato just looks tired, sitting there on the sand, watching people practice, beckoning whoever wanders by and doesn't turn around the moment they hear his request: ]
Can I borrow your pants?
[ He would use his own pants but like. He has to show Brie and he's just. Really tired. Who has extra pants he can take and potentially never give back. ]
B
But he also just barely knows everyone here?? Hence why he pauses at the request.]
... Is it for training?
[or are you a pervert of injustice that must be thwarted]
no subject
Yeah.
[ But if he were a pervert of injustice, wouldn't he say the same thing? ]
no subject
one day minato will understand
regardless. chiaki doesn't seem... to think... that far ahead regarding lying and whatnot so]
Understood! Then allow me to help you. ☆ Is there a place nearby where I may change...?
no subject
Chiaki is exhausting already, earnest as he is and Minato just sitting there in front of him, gesturing vaguely to his feet. ]
Here's fine.
[ It's... fine. Whatever!!! ]
no subject
I-It's not...?! There are girls wandering the beach...!!
[THAT'S INDECENT]
no subject
[ If they are, it's because you're loud, Chiaki, calm down. ]
no subject
[Loud is his default setting. Sorry.]
no subject
[ Judgement free zone. Just pretend you can't wear pants while using your powers, problem solved. ]
no subject
Are you certain...? Is it absolutely necessary for me to derobe here and now...?!
[it's just your pants, chiaki]
no subject
He wants to badly to say yes and get this done and out of the way, but ]
...No. You don't have to if you don't want to. I can wait for help from someone else.
no subject
I... I can't allow that! You need help and so it would be cruel for me to turn away in your time of need!
I understand - then I'll....!!
[he's... gonna go ahead and just start to remove his pants now
because chiaki is a giving, foolish fool]
no subject
but no
hand out, give him your pants. ]
Thanks. You really saved me.
[ Because literally nobody else would do this. ]
no subject
just for you, minato
just for you]
Aha... ha....[even he's managed to get slightly deflated?? but he's mostly just embarrassed, let's be honest here] It is merely what's expected of Chiaki Morisawa, the one with the burning heart! Please, call on me whenever you need....!!
[he's going to regret that]
no subject
That gets a laugh out of Minato at least, a short, quiet huff of breath as he takes the pants in hand. ]
Sure. I'll help out if you need me too.
[ It's the least he can promise because he's just going to turn his attention back to the pants, giving it a little wave as to straighten the legs and then— a blink and it's gone, replaced with a bright red bead that falls from Minato's hand into the sand. He stoops to pick it up, and holds it out for Chiaki to see. ]
That's my magic. ...We should show Brie.

A
It's not even his hut or anything, but what just happened here? He has to know.]
Excuse me...! Did you see what happened?
[Did this boy do this? No way.]
no subject
[ Minato answers the question, but he offers absolutely nothing more that would lead to admission of his guilt. Sorry to whoever lives here!!! At least he left the bed and stuff intact... For being faced with a sudden disappearance like this, Minato doesn't look all too bothered; he's a little proud of himself, actually. He'd gotten the hut to disappear without transforming everything else inside of it. ]
no subject
Did you see anybody else around here?
[Hibiki just goes on with this little investigation of his, trying to find out what happened. And why would someone leave the bed and other furniture out...that doesn't make sense in his book.
Not that a hut disappearing does??]
no subject
[ He could leave it at that, thank you yes-no questions, but he elaborates anyways, waving vaguely at the empty space in front of him that is the lack of walls. ]
I was a bit distracted.
[ As anybody would be if they came across this scene, right? ]
I'm sure it'll turn up, though. Eventually.
no subject
[That's understandable, though. He wasn't paying that much attention to the hut either. On the other hand...Minato was standing much, much closer.
Weird.]
Let's hope this is a one-time accident, nothing more. And that whoever lost their hut won't come to us asking for accommodation.
[He likes his privacy...]
no subject
[ And not a while later, half the camp is forced into musical beds. But it's not entirely his fault; other people are straight-up destroying the huts, while Minato could potentially give it back (he's not going to). ]
Were you going back to your hut to rest? Or practice?
no subject
[Important questions, right here.]
no subject
[ aka stealing a hut. but before he's asked to elaborate and out himself, he'll ask first- ]
What was your training like?
no subject
[He's going to ask anyway, oops...it would be rude to talk just about himself without giving Minato a chance.]
And what task was that?
no subject
[ boomerangs the question back, he doesn't want it ]
