[OPENING] island hub - day 1
Who: All Characters
Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

TDM threads can be considered canon if you so choose, they contain the power that you apped with and both parties confer that the thread is canon.
For characters that were on the TDM and who were not accepted/didn't app, these characters will be considered dropped characters that were magicked away.

Where: Main Hub
When: Day 1
Open/Closed: Open to All

Night has fallen upon everyone. It's thus far been an eventful day -- you've met some new people, discovered some new aspects of yourself that weren't there before you appeared here (however that might have happened). The original inhabitants of the island have been working hard to prepare a few things. One activity might have been one you were a part of, but there's still time to get your hands dirty.
Post feasting, there are dozens of crabs and a pile of roasted boar meet that are up for eating. Even if you didn't offer to help in making any of the food, they're open to eat it -- even if the true helpers may give you dirty looks. The boar is fine, if not a little bland and chewy, but it's probably better than the jerky. The crab is delicious, if not a little tasteless...there problem with the crab isn't exactly the taste, though.
This may also cause a bit of an issue with your character's powers. They're still getting physically and mentally acclimated to these new changes, so expect their telepathy and magic to go a little haywire. |

It's almost completely dark outside when the next event of the evening happens. You're living your life when you see it out of the corner of your eye -- it's absolutely hard to miss. What you see is a large lit caravan, larger than even an army tank. It's bright white and shining, covered with golden, ornate details that emanate an even more dazzling sparkle. The entire thing is aglow, and it's quickly coming towards the large bonfire that's been made. It's not rolling across the sand, but instead it's floating, and so is a matching trunk that's sailing along next to a figure beside the caravan.
There are two other thread options associated with this prompt: Genette's top level and her telepathy training post. Around the same time as Genette is handing out this new little goody bag, you suddenly receive a telepathic message. It might seem a little strange at first -- but on that note, what about tonight isn't strange?
After you've met Genette, she's also got a few more supplies that she pulls out a small door in the base of the caravan. She's insistent that you only get two items, since there aren't exactly a lot of them to go around!

As the night winds down, it's recommended by Brie that you should probably go to be in your hut -- or at the very least get somewhere inside. There are a lot of people around the camp, however, so it's no surprise that there are a few people waiting around to get their fill of food and supplies before heading to bed. The noise of the new members and the light of the fire have attracted a very large pack of boars, who you'll later find make routine trips to the beach every night. Boar mating season has made the wild hogs rather testy, and the smell of food -- even if it's their own boar brethren -- have made them even more volatile.
However, it's not like staying up at night doesn't have its advantages. Once midnight hits, another species of animal makes its regular rounds across the base camp. In the sky, characters can see an Aurora Borealis-like sight. Instead of being dancing green and blue lights, however, the reality is that they are a massive species of space worm, and hundreds are wiggling past on their way to travel back home. They're shimmering and in every color imaginable, lighting up the sky with their magnificent hues.

[It's hard not to notice the flurry of activity as everything is getting set up for dinner. It's also hard not to notice that there are several people doing several things. Moving around with a deliberate sense of purpose.
Then there's her, someone who - if she's every done something like a cookout before - certainly can't remember it. Standing all-too-conspicuously in and around this center of activity.
If you catch her eye right about now, you'll be greeted with a mixture of panic and desperation. Please tell her what to do.]

[Sleep... doesn't come easily that night. The bed feels wrong, the sounds are all different. It's strange and her stomach feels all wriggly, and she keeps expecting to open her eyes and see the white walls of The Castle that Never Was. She tosses and turns. Her energy is spent enough that it feels like there's times where she may have dozed, but it was like she closed her eyes and opened them an hour later.
By the time she finally gives up on sleep and sits up, there's a light under the doorframe. Curious, she slips out of bed and slowly eases the door open. The sight outside makes her mouth drop open in a little "o." And so out she steps into the night.
She's never been out in anything like this before. It rained sometimes at the World That Never Was, but even then she'd only seen it through windows. The mist... it almost feels like she could tug on it? That new part of her that she's still reluctant to acknowledge. Though the longer she stays out here, the more her reluctance fades
At first it's like dew, forming in the palm of her hand. Like a little pearl, one that she can lift up and move about too, albeit slowly. Next she tries forming it on her fingertip, and that's when the fun begins, trying to draw and write things in the air. The mist falls away whenever it gets too far from her finger, but it's still quite pretty.
It's also probably the honestly happiest she's looked since she got here.]

Need something to do, kid?

[She fidgets a bit before bobbing her head nervously.]
Y-yeah.

Maybe that specifically is what has her so wired and unable to rest.
Fresh air is what she needs but what she finds is so much better. It's her young neighbor that she met earlier today and she's crafting with the mist. It's honestly mesmerizing to watch! With the colorful lights weaving in the background and Xion pulling the water from the very air under her command... it's a dazzling sight!
Yuuko even tries but finds that she can't. This is something that only Xion can do it seems.
After a few minutes of watching the witch applauds the performance.]
Yay!!! That was very cool! Amazing even! Is that your special magic power~?
no subject
If anything, she turns slightly pink at the praise.]
Y-yeah, I think so. I couldn't do anything like it at home.
[Other kinds of magic, sure. But not water.]
no subject
That was very mesmerizing to watch. Add music and you'd have have yourself a real art performance. Oh~! Do you take requests~? Can you draw a butterfly in the water?
no subject
A butterfly though, that she can do, she thinks.
Her brow furrows a bit as she concentrates. Drawing the body, then one wing, then another. It gets a little harder the further she goes, but she's able to finish it, and hold it for a couple seconds before it slips out of her grip.]
Like that?

Lenka almost does miss the little light show in favor of the much, much bigger and crazier light show going on over their heads, but the movement catches his eye and he follows it curiously to its source. He moves quietly out of habit and is wearing dark clothes, so even if he's not trying to sneak up on Xion he might startle her once he speaks up.]
You can move it. Do you know what it is?
no subject
Oh- um. [She holds her hands out, trying to gather it again. One small pearlescent ball appears above each hand.]
I don't know. But um... I think it might be water? Or I think... part of it's water.
no subject
[He does feel bad for making her drop what she was doing quite literally, but it's an offhand apology once she starts gathering the mist again -- which is far more interesting and distracting. He reaches out a hand to poke at the balls she's gathered, and they wobble a bit, not being quite bubbles. His finger comes away damp and shining.]
It looks and feels like water, but it comes from... space?
[Nothing about this place makes any kind of good sense, but in a good way, for once.]

[ A tall, lanky old man yells out to Xion. For a guy who's 6'2 and has weirdly red-coloured eyes, it's perfectly reasonable to find him more than intimidating. In fact, after watching Xion stand around too long doing nothing, it's almost as if he's about to come over and tell her to stop being useless.
His steps are slow, but with purpose. When he finally reaches her, he stays silent for another few seconds and...
...gives her some boar meat on a stick. ]
You should eat.
no subject
H-huh?
[That's all?]
no subject
[ He says it with a little more command in his voice. ]
Can't promise you'll like it, but we're not exactly at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Pretty neat, huh? [ At least, that's before he fully notices her. Her clothing immediately gives her away — he's seen the Organization members enough to recognize their clothing pretty easily. But he's never seen her before. And upon looking at her face, the resemblance to one of his best friends is uncanny. In addition, odd, foreign feelings well up inside him at the same time. Almost like a part of him wants to cry? Which only ... confuses him more. Being Sora is hard sometimes, it seems. Honestly, he'd be a lot more worked up if it weren't for the calming effects of this worm mist, so right now, that stuff is a blessing. But it isn't stopping the myriad of emotions he has from running through him in a matter of seconds.
So, he can't help but gasp a little, his body language switching to something a little more on guard, but his facial expression showing clear confusion. ]
Who're you?
[ Is probably the best way to go about this. She seems ... harmless. And he's aware the Organization has various types of people in it. Seeing as he doesn't have access to his Keyblade, he can only hope this is someone harmless. ]
no subject
[She's not exactly what you'd call savvy on reading emotions, but she's still observant enough to notice there's... some kind of change in how he's standing and looking at her. And that's not to mention the further pause seeing his face gives her. The hair is different, the expression isn't quite the same but the resemblance is still uncanny.
Her brow furrows a bit but, like Sora, the mist keeps much of her reaction muted.]
Xion. Who're you?
no subject
But the fact that she even has to ask who he is tells him somethings off about her compared to the other members he's met. After everything that happened, it'd be weird for one of them to not know who he is, right?
Still, the worm mist is making him calmer than he would be, and he's also not the kind of person to take the logical approach and keep his identity hidden if there's a threat of danger if someone finds it out. Sooo. ]
Uh ... I'm Sora. You mean you didn't know that?
[ Sorry, Xion, it's a little jarring considering how the rest of the members acted towards him. And how much he fought against them. ]

Yeah, it's... it's really pretty.
[She draws a little spiral, just enough that she's able to hold all of it for a few seconds, before it drops away.]
I wonder if this happens all the time here.
