[WORLD TWO | SHIT MEETS FAN]
Who: The Chosen 12, Shehui Monitors
Where: Around Shehui, The Underground Holding Areas
When:
Open/Closed: OTA, but especially the Chosen 12
[ Something seems different about today...you feel it when you wake up if you're of the sorts who happen to have a good gut instinct. You don't have to wait around long for the news of the day to confirm this anxiety in your chest. In fact, it may only intensify if you happen to be looking at your ID card when the announcement comes in.
On your ID's text scroller, a message comes through with a loud, blaring beeping:
The following Shehui residents have been requested for an audience with officials. If you know of their location, please tell them as such and maintain their location as much as possible. (The list, though, contains last names OR the name they offered at their Shehui introductory meeting.)
If you're in your apartment and happen to be on that list, you'll find that your door is locked from the inside suddenly. You and your buddies aren't going in there until a monitor comes by. For those out and about, you may be able to hide for a while if you're in a crowd of folks who don't know who you are. However, any and all news or screens will begin offering photos of those on the list as the day continues. That might get you some interesting looks.
That being said, you have options -- giving in and surrendering is only one of the choices you can make.
In general, citizens of Shehui will take a pretty standard approach to coven members who are on the circulated list. They won't get directly involved with the chase; there won't be many citizens who will put a coven member in a headlock and directly involve themselves. However, they will shout, point at and follow coven members who they know are on the list in an attempt to help the monitors. However, you do have the freedom to create non-standard reactions from Shehui residents. You can say they feel some sympathy, or maybe they're even more violent than the average person!

That being said, you have options -- giving in and surrendering is only one of the choices you can make.
pre- or just after the announcement: Want to react to this sudden discovery that you're quite possibly a wanted criminal? Go right ahead! Maybe this is where you begin to plot your life on the lam. Maybe, maybe you have a mental break down. Maybe, maybe, maybe you just need some advice about what to do. Who knows!
running: Life on the lam is entirely possible, and even though it might not last, you can definitely make a break for it. If you have magic that can help you...why not use it? What do you have to lose? However, know that monitors will be looking for you far and wide. You thought there were a lot of monitors hanging around the city before? Think again, now. There are some pretty good places to hide, like in the woods of the more rural areas, but be warned -- that doesn't mean the monitors won't come for you there, either.
fighting: Maybe you're more proactive in your denial. You don't want to go anywhere with these monitors, and they're closing in...instead of surrendering, it's time to battle! Magic will do you well in this scenario, but monitors do have weapons and tools they can use to try and combat your fighting spirit. These include stun guns, energized-batons and a gun-like device that shoots out magnetized clamps designed to grab at arms, legs...even your neck. Trying to cut through these is also very hard, and once the gun is attached to you? It's also electrical in nature. You'll get a pretty good zap if you don't comply.
capture: So that's it. You've been caught. What does that mean for your future in Shehui? It's hard to say -- but it is for certain that you aren't simply being interrogated in your apartment this time. The monitors lead you to their underground doorway, opening it and bringing you inside. What you find is a totally different building that looks very ornate yet official -- this is the home of the Shehui government. The hallway you're led through is long, and your restraints tighten before your feet are clasped together with a device that's similar to the clamps the monitor's gun spat out. There are hundreds of monitors looking to stun or even shoot you now that you're away from the public. Escape is seemingly impossible...at least for now.
From there, monitors will take you to a holding room that lies at the furthest end of the last hallway you're taken to. It's not that bad for being what is essentially a jail cell -- there's an enclosed restroom, sizable bed and mini fridge. A table, a television built into the side of the wall...and a sign on the wall that lists up to three different names. Even though there's one bed, that doesn't mean you'll be utilizing it on your own:
-- Geir (his own, larger cell -- though it's outfitted with larger amenities)
-- Riza, Jade, Ruby
-- Jusis, Noctis, Julius
-- Madoka, Shirley, Haru
-- Orga, Akechi
The first day, everything is quite quiet. A monitor brings you food, carefully making sure that you can't escape through the door...since they're sliding it through a tiny slit, it might be very hard to squeeze through. That's where you're at right now...Today is day one, and who knows what the next day will bring.
[SPECIFIC NOTE: For large creatures, i.e. Geir's big dragon ass, the monitors are going to be using helicopters and larger versions of their regular weapons. They'll be very cautious in trying not to injure Geir -- more than they would be when it comes to the average coven member -- because potentially felling him from the sky can lead to casualties. If he is captured, the underground door will grow to accommodate him, and there is a larger holding area for bigger creatures. Hallways, however, will be a tight squeeze.]
telepathy: Telepathy can be utilized at any time during your long, hard day, but it may be beneficial to attempt to use it while you're locked up underground. Those who hear your mental feed will find that whatever signal you're trying to send is very faint -- for instance, sending text, the letters will be less than opaque. Voices will be softer and potentially static-y, as well as video transmissions.
You can say they feel some sympathy, or maybe they're even more violent than the average person!

before
[ Julius had briefly entertained the idea of using his abilities to try and make an escape, but ultimately it might cost him more control than he can afford. Thus he had resigned himself to going peacefully, though not without a telepathic message: ]
This is Julius. I'm going with them. I'll try to feed information out whenever I can.
capture
[ Much like Geir, Julius allows himself to be led into the cell without much protest. Luckily enough, they haven't obstructed his vision yet, so he's able to take note of the path and construction of the building. It's no different from the treatment he would have received back home should he fall into hostile hands, so it's bearable.
His bigger priority is to remain in control of himself over his escape. If he could bide his time and collect intel, then it would be a good change from the monotony of simply working here. The monitors wouldn't be able to get too much information out of him, for he is incomprehensible even to himself - the curse that binds his body unto an eternity of corrosion.
He takes his place at the corner of his cell, sitting down on the floor. Should food come, he would refuse it except for water. Most of his attention is trained on what he can perceive of the telepathic network, and on keeping himself grounded. Should his cellmates try to check on him, they may notice that some parts of his skin have turned white, with a texture much like bark. ]
telepathy
[ Julius has so manny questions, so might as well fire them off while someone might still be listening. ]
Who's around here? Are they treating you okay?
hey roomie what's up
it ... isn't exactly a position he'd expect from someone planning for the future, but even if julius' resolve has been broken by the situation, he wouldn't let that pass over without saying something either. after his initial assessment, he approaches, though he still keeps some distance between them when he stops. ]
I hadn't expected them to place a handful of magic users in shared cells. Are you well, Visconti?
[ ... circumstances being what they are, at least. for his part, jusis is in one piece. definitely upset, going by his scowl, but not obviously harmed. his dignity might be bruised from being arrested. ]
the ceiling
These thoughts are brushed away once he hears Jusis approach. Julius looks up - he's not much different from normal, still with his calm expression; though it is tempered by dark patches under his eyes and other signs of bad sleep. ]
I'm okay. Don't worry too much about me. [ he looks kind of dying but it's fine!! ] If anything, they may have given us a chance to plan our escape.
[ He tilts his head slightly, listening in to the network. ]
There are more than two holding cells, from what I can tell.
That's fair.
in their circumstances, there isn't much to do but talk at the moment—and listen, but julius seems to have that covered. once he's confirmed julius is at least receptive to conversation, he takes a sit in front of him. ]
You don't look okay. [ bluntly. then, without missing a beat: ]
If we assume all of us are three to a room, that doesn't surprise me. I ... had more pressing concerns than counting the names, but the list was long enough. [ then there's geir, but he doesn't even know how they got him in here, much less how they intend to keep him here. ]
:^) i hope u like puns
Yet, there isn't much that anyone can do for his condition. ]
I didn't sleep well. It'll pass.
[ Jusis doesn't seem the type to believe in curses, so he'll have to shelve that excuse. Perhaps if the need arises, the truth can be brought to light... but it wasn't needed now. ]
Did they hurt you?
jusis has canonically laughed at a pun, which shames me.
isn't that good though
it's EMBARRASSING ... it wasn't even a good pun!!
but all puns are good!!
i've been betrayed ...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
i can't believe you just lenny'd me over puns
this is a meme zone
the mood whiplash between this conversation and the thread is killing me
isnt it great though, disaster boys

[Hey, Julius, what's up. What a wacky situation we've gotten ourselves into this time, huh.]
Could be a hell of a lot worse. Were it not the whole "being kept against my will" thing, I could've been convinced this was a hotel room rather than a cell.
What about on your end?
no subject
The same. Though one bed for three people is definitely lacking. Perhaps they ran out of space. [ The good thing is that they could probably ferment an escape plan here. ] Makes you wonder why we were taken.
no subject
Damn. Three? I'll count myself lucky for just the one cellmate, then.
Maybe. Seems kinda strange since they were half-way considerate about our comfort in a handful of other ways here.
I can think of a few possibilities. The fact that we're mysterious interlopers with magical powers is probably the biggest. I wonder if they have any idea about the witch, though.
[They're supposed to be trying to find her, right? And then protect her, or something? The debriefing wasn't the best he'd ever received.]
no subject
I don't mind taking the floor. If anything, it gives us the opportunity to discuss a possible escape.
[ He's about to continue, but then a burst of static clouds over their connection - if Orga strains, he might hear some sort of song from the noise.
Or maybe it's just his imagination. It clears as quickly as it appeared. ]
- we could try asking, but I doubt those assigned to shuttle us have any idea of it.

rooming with frands;
His arms close tighter around himself, head drooped low as he tries to telepathically contact Prompto or anyone else he might know. If they can hear him at all, he hasn't heard anything back yet. Maybe they're dealing with their own kidnapping situations and are on the run. He can only hope they got away, at least, not wanting to wish this on anyone else.
He lets his gaze drift over to the cell's other occupants, noticing one of them is looking less... lively than he last saw him. Not that he blames him. This situation is pretty shitty. ]
Maybe you should get the first helping of whatever they give us later.
[ Assuming their captors will even feed them, though there's no point in capturing them only to let them die of starvation after. ]
friends!!!
It's always inconvenient to have to tell the truth about himself, especially to acquaintances. But as they say, desperate times call for exceptions. ]
I'm fine. I'm... just tired. Haven't slept well.
[ He's not hungry yet, and his sleepless nights aren't a lie. He lets his eyes flick to Jusis, then to Noctis. ]
Did they hurt you?
no subject
Nothing I can't sleep off.
[ Just a few bruises in exchange for his forced cooperation. If he'd allowed himself to transform, he could have escaped easily, but he also would have risked hurting the other coven members and civilians. He's not in enough control over himself when he changes shape to use that as any sort of defense mechanism, so maybe he made the right decision in letting himself get taken -whatever reduces the most casualties.
He doesn't want to repeat his father's mistakes and put a whole lot of people at risk just to save himself, but he also knows he has to think of something to get everyone else out of here. ]
Probably a bad time to catch up on sleep, but it's not like there's a whole lot else to do here.
[ They took away his cell phone, so he can't even play games to pass the time in their small prison. ]
no subject
Take a rest. I'll keep an eye out for anything that happens.
[ If anything, the youth seems the most ordinary amongst the three people in this cell. Best not to strain civilians any further and let the military take charge. But, just in case: ]

no subject
Hello, 2B. We are in no immediate physical danger right now. There are two others with me in this cell; Noctis and Jusis. I don't know what they want with us yet.
no subject
They've done nothing aside from imprison you then? [That's good for their safety at least. The message earlier said that they wanted those people to meet with officials, but given how they were taken forcibly, it's hard to think it was only for that. Just what could they be after?] I'm glad you're all fine though. The rest of the coven is working to get everyone out as soon as we can.
no subject
Nothing yet. I cannot discredit the possibility that something worse may happen, but should it happen, I will broadcast it as soon as possible.

We don't. But I'd rather I go, than anyone else. Other people are... more fragile. And I'm used to this game.

I don't know some of those others, but Riza's a soldier, I'm pretty sure. That might be something you'll need to know.

[ a familiar voice, popping up in your head. roy does not sound happy, but he does sound somewhat relieved to know that you can still contact the people on the inside. and he also sort of wants to know what happened with Julius just volunteered himself to go, because that is surely what riza did. ]
What happened, and did they harm you in any way?
no subject
I was cornered in the street and taken to an underground facility. They haven't harmed us for now. The conditions are respectable for a jail cell, though we are three to a room.
I intend to stay here and feed out whatever information I can.
no subject
It's a good idea. [ genuinely! ] But the risk we run by waiting for information is high in comparison to what we may get. We don't know what these people want with you.
[ a pause. ]
Have they shown any intention of harming you, or did they just put you in a cell and leave you there?
no subject
I don't intend to overstay the hospitality. However, I would rather front their inquiries than anyone else in these cells. Suffices to say that I have some experience; they will not be getting anything out of me.
We're left to our own devices for now. There's no telling when they may return, however.
