[ If you've never experienced that ear-splitting, spine-tingling, bone-crushing headache that comes with Qri doing...something...then you're in for a treat. It lasts for about an hour on the first day, though usually it fades after a while and things go back to normal.

This time, you aren't so lucky. As soon as the headache passes, you notice there's a certain something missing within you. You may not notice it immediately, but the next time you hear someone talk their words might be equivalent to gibberish. When you go to ask someone what's going on with your telepathy, you find that your words just circle your own brain, no one answering because the message simply can't be received.

This...may be a problem. Hopefully you know how to play charades. ]

[Terezi is filling in the details on her public execution--complete with rictus grins of the surrounding trolls--but she cranes her neck to look over at what Dia is doing. What is she drawing!! Is she a good artist!! :o]

Embezzled! . . . It is a term meaning "to steal money you have been trusted to manage."

[There's an amused smile playing around her face.]

["steal" and "money" are pretty simple words, and Madoka lights up, breaking into a smile, at least understanding embezzlement on its most basic level.]

[she reaches for a piece of chalk, then, because she has something important she wants to convey! um. how does one ask for permission to borrow a piece of chalk in English.]

Can I ...? [that's as far as she gets.]

[Half to Madoka, half to herself:]

Either your Alternian is not very good, or you are very shy.

[But she holds out a piece of chalk for Madoka to take! Go ahead.]

[if it were a different timeline, both of those thoughts would have applied. but she scoots a ways away from the execution, and gets to scribblin'.]

[and what she comes up with is a very simple drawing of Terezi, with a couple of arrows pointing to her head, next to the word "PRETTY" in blocky, tentative letters.]

[Madoka thinks your hair is really cute, Terezi — it reminds her a bit of Sayaka's, albeit a touch messier. she's not sure if it's polite to comment on horns, but she thinks they're cute, too.]

[O-oh. That's not actually something she's used to hearing--she's more accustomed to "TERRIFYING," and to an extent tries to provoke that reaction--and it takes her aback for a moment.

Just for a moment, though; in the next instant her expression has sharpened back into that same shit-eating grin.]
