How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about it? A ▢ Unlike the other coven members, the newbies are coming into the apartment building with non-empty apartment rooms. Depending on how polite or cautious you are, your first instinct may be to find your apartment and knock on the door. But it is your apartment now, too, and you do have an ID card that'll get you in. What horrible calamity will you walk in on? What eccentric roommates will you happen upon? The wacky situational comedy scenarios are ENDLESS. B ▢ One of the jobs on the job board this week is fundraising -- neat, right? Before you even make it up to your apartment, you may be accosted by an excited citizen -- coven member or no -- that is trying to push something onto your character. Chocolate bars? Cheese logs? Cookie dough? Some other luxury item or overpriced snack food? Because this fundraising task is based on commission, the citizen in question may be a bit pushy...or you may be inclined to buy ridiculous amounts of goods and not know what to do with yourself.

New coven members showing up today are in luck. This week, Shehui is celebrating a Keep the Community Clean event. It's rare that they force jobs on people, but there has been an influx of new citizens and the population growth is leading to more trash. Fulfill your assignment and you'll be rewarded 1,000 credits. Don't? Be fined 500. Everyone has been sent a job to their ID, be it collecting trash, cleaning their apartment building or holding up signs/handing out literature about recycling. Sweeping, bagging...it's dirty work, but someone has to do it. C ▢ Cleaning up trash on the street might be hard, but it's fulfilling! Okay, that's a lie. It's demeaning and a lot of citizens don't really care about the minimal littering credit deduction as they toss trash from their cars or miss throwing it into bins. Volunteers are outfitted with gloves, vests and a roll of trash bags, but it doesn't prevent them from being rudely splashed with snow or having to pick up nasty things. Have fun! D ▢ For those who decided to pass out literature, you did pick the better job! It's a lot easier to avoid getting nasty, but it's also awkward...having to hand out fliers, be cheerful, regurgitate boring facts about recycling. Please sir, stop and listen to this exciting speech about why should put your cans in the red bins, not the blue ones! E ▢ There is a bright side to these jobs: local businesses are getting in on the outpouring of people out and about to try and get them into seats and buying things. Free samples are abound! There's a local coffee shop, Mooncents, that is handing out free small drinks to anyone who is actually working today. Come inside, regardless if you "volunteer" or not. It's warm inside with all that snow out there...

Speaking of snow! Most businesses and buildings in Shehui have paid to have snow falling every other hour, which coats the city areas in a fine, powdery dust of snowflakes. You may be familiar with snow, or maybe you've never seen it in your entire life! It's unavoidable either way, so you're going to have to deal with it. F ▢ Children in Shehui are usually in a school building somewhere, but snow days call for some leniency. School is pretty come-and-go anyway, so don't be surprised that there are quite a few kidlets out and about on the streets. They're also fully into the spirit of snow, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting strangers. Will you get in on the action, or will you plan the murder of innocent children today? G ▢ While it's unadvised to just go lay out in the street and make snow angels, there are plenty of parks in which to examine or play in the snow. You won't be the only one acting like a fool -- it's Shehui. You're allowed to live a little! H ▢ Finally, Coins! has bought the most snow as a means for their seasonal activity -- snow paintball. If you're looking to have a good time and enjoy Shehui for what it is, you'd best be inclined to sign up. A massive field with snowbanks and excellent areas for hiding, snowball paintballs that hurt twice as much as usual. What more could you ask for? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[He's a pretty quiet guy, huh... Mika's more relaxed with the gun away, but he'd still prefer to be Away.]

Nn... I ain't very good at games like this, so I was playin' it like normal with some of the kids before now. I'm just waitin' it out now.

[ he just doesn't really know what ... to say to other people. Mikazuki can tell that he's not going to be a Threat though, even before hearing what he had to say.

A small hmm is all that Mikazuki utters before they fall into an ... awkward silence...

that sure doesn't last very long, because apparently one of the kids out there was fooled by the brief lull in the sniping into a false sense of security. When he tries to make a dash for it to a bigger cover a little bit away, Mikazuki carefully aims for the middle of his back and shoots twice, exact centre both time.

the kid falls to the ground and starts wailing, and Mikazuki nods, satisfied that there's another one less. ]

If you aren't good at it, you'll just get shot.

[ it's okay, because Mikazuki doesn't find that particularly rude?? he's been called that before, and a lot of other things besides so he's kind of developed a thick skin. Or he's just deaf. ]

It's easy. You just have to get them when they come out.

[ Mikazuki pauses while loading up another round of paintballs into his gun. It's honestly not something that's occurred to him, that he could just not do this. He'd been walking along, and someone had obviously mistaken him as an Innocent Child and told him to go and play with the other kids, inadvertently starting this massive kill streak. ]

Do you always do things for fun?

Well... no, I do 'em 'cause I gotta, but I don't think you have to, um, do this?

[It's not like he's doing it for money or anything like that, so why?]

[ he should get paid for this, that's an idea....

there's a little bit of silence from his end as Mikazuki considers what the other has said. he doesn't have to keep shooting these kids, that's for sure. nobody's exactly telling him anyway. ]

I was trying to see what was 'fun' about shooting each other...

This place is weird.

Then there's the problem! In regular snowball fights, it's 'cause there's always someone that's gettin' the best of you and hittin' you with a snowball!

[ mikazuki seems to actually think about what the other's just said. it makes sense, he guessed, even though he's never really thought about the having fun part in anything he did. it was just things that he had to do, things that orga had told him he needed to do. ]

[An even playing field!! Mika'll gather some snow as he moves farther away, shaping it clumsily into a ball. He does part-time work at school on top of dancing practice, so he's actually got some muscle to his throw? It's not like. Incredibly painful. But it will hurt.]

[ okay, first of all, do you know how... tricky it is to roll a snowball with only one hand? but he's good at picking things up, so pretty soon Mikazuki has a more or less vaguely snowball-shaped lump in hand as he stands up, but still keeping well behind the shrubbery for cover.

Mikazuki is made up of nothing but muscles, being from the militia (of sorts), but he's never actually thrown snow before so it might actually mean they're on pretty even grounds. ]

[Okay, that's... really impressive? Maybe he should go easy on this guy since he seems to only use one hand? No, that's how you lose (idol) wars, you have to give it your all no matter the state of the opponent, that's giving them respect!

Also holy shit Mikazuki is short. Like, four inches shorter than himself, which isn't that much shorter, but he's still shorter than Mika's used to being around.

Well, here goes nothing! Mika's got shit all on proper strategies, so he'll probably lose the snowball fight overall, but maybe he can still get hits on Mikazuki?]

[ oh.... Mika..... Don't go easy on him, he can accidentally break your arm...

His fingers are already numb but maybe he's used to that, even though he isn't used to how quickly it freezes. Winter in Mars has never been like this.

The first snowball that Mika lobs towards him go a little too far above, but nevertheless Mikazuki is showered with bits of snow as it shatters against the tree. He takes brief aim with his own and ducks out of the shrub to chuck it at the other. ]

[That's a direct hit, caught in the middle of gathering snow for ammo, and Mika makes a squawking noise as he scrambles back into his own hiding spot, keeping low and shivering. Cold, cold...

He'll make a slightly larger one this time, packing it tight and tossing it lower than he had before, but it's just going to end up rolling into Mikazuki than actually hitting him this time.]

[ wow, Mika, you're bad at this..... you gotta try harder.

Mikazuki will look down at the snowball and then back up, giving him a look like, are you even trying here? his next snowball isn't quite packed tightly as he'd like so it's just going to crumble halfway through the projected course, landing nowhere near the other. ]

[Mika returns the look, come on buddy that's kinda weak even for a guy who can only use one arm, and the next one will more likely hit, because third time's the charm and he's got distances down.]

Tch, [ he doesn't say it outright, but there's visible frustration in the furrow of his brows and te way his jaws set. Mika's snowball connects directly with his shoulder, spattering snow everywhere. He shakes it out of his hair much like a dog would, and quickly weighs up the snowball held in his hand; that seems better.

Which will it be, face or stomach?? ]
