How did you get into this building? This apartment room? What the fuck is going on? Let's refer back to this page for a semi in-depth, wow so detailed, explanation of your current situation. Are you up to speed? Great. Now, here's the question of the hour: what are you going to do about it? A ▢ Unlike the other coven members, the newbies are coming into the apartment building with non-empty apartment rooms. Depending on how polite or cautious you are, your first instinct may be to find your apartment and knock on the door. But it is your apartment now, too, and you do have an ID card that'll get you in. What horrible calamity will you walk in on? What eccentric roommates will you happen upon? The wacky situational comedy scenarios are ENDLESS. B ▢ One of the jobs on the job board this week is fundraising -- neat, right? Before you even make it up to your apartment, you may be accosted by an excited citizen -- coven member or no -- that is trying to push something onto your character. Chocolate bars? Cheese logs? Cookie dough? Some other luxury item or overpriced snack food? Because this fundraising task is based on commission, the citizen in question may be a bit pushy...or you may be inclined to buy ridiculous amounts of goods and not know what to do with yourself.

New coven members showing up today are in luck. This week, Shehui is celebrating a Keep the Community Clean event. It's rare that they force jobs on people, but there has been an influx of new citizens and the population growth is leading to more trash. Fulfill your assignment and you'll be rewarded 1,000 credits. Don't? Be fined 500. Everyone has been sent a job to their ID, be it collecting trash, cleaning their apartment building or holding up signs/handing out literature about recycling. Sweeping, bagging...it's dirty work, but someone has to do it. C ▢ Cleaning up trash on the street might be hard, but it's fulfilling! Okay, that's a lie. It's demeaning and a lot of citizens don't really care about the minimal littering credit deduction as they toss trash from their cars or miss throwing it into bins. Volunteers are outfitted with gloves, vests and a roll of trash bags, but it doesn't prevent them from being rudely splashed with snow or having to pick up nasty things. Have fun! D ▢ For those who decided to pass out literature, you did pick the better job! It's a lot easier to avoid getting nasty, but it's also awkward...having to hand out fliers, be cheerful, regurgitate boring facts about recycling. Please sir, stop and listen to this exciting speech about why should put your cans in the red bins, not the blue ones! E ▢ There is a bright side to these jobs: local businesses are getting in on the outpouring of people out and about to try and get them into seats and buying things. Free samples are abound! There's a local coffee shop, Mooncents, that is handing out free small drinks to anyone who is actually working today. Come inside, regardless if you "volunteer" or not. It's warm inside with all that snow out there...

Speaking of snow! Most businesses and buildings in Shehui have paid to have snow falling every other hour, which coats the city areas in a fine, powdery dust of snowflakes. You may be familiar with snow, or maybe you've never seen it in your entire life! It's unavoidable either way, so you're going to have to deal with it. F ▢ Children in Shehui are usually in a school building somewhere, but snow days call for some leniency. School is pretty come-and-go anyway, so don't be surprised that there are quite a few kidlets out and about on the streets. They're also fully into the spirit of snow, throwing snowballs at unsuspecting strangers. Will you get in on the action, or will you plan the murder of innocent children today? G ▢ While it's unadvised to just go lay out in the street and make snow angels, there are plenty of parks in which to examine or play in the snow. You won't be the only one acting like a fool -- it's Shehui. You're allowed to live a little! H ▢ Finally, Coins! has bought the most snow as a means for their seasonal activity -- snow paintball. If you're looking to have a good time and enjoy Shehui for what it is, you'd best be inclined to sign up. A massive field with snowbanks and excellent areas for hiding, snowball paintballs that hurt twice as much as usual. What more could you ask for? I ▢ Wildcard! How will your character interact with this new and unusual world?

[Mika got here just a bit earlier, sprawled on the floor to relax, and at the sound of the door suddenly opening he scrambles to hide. Is he really in the right place, then?! Ohhhh, he really wishes he was alone, the only people he'd lived with in close quarters lately was the Itsuki family and... that was alright.

Cautiously, he peeks out and

ducks right the fuck back down behind the sofa, oh my god, the grim reaper has appeared. Er, a stranger with a cloak on has appeared, which is just as bad?! Maybe if he stays quiet, the person'll go away.]

[Alas for his poor new roommate, Roxas has good enough vision despite that hood to catch the flicker of movement on the periphery. Plenty of beings out there in the worlds have a habit of ducking and hiding.

Hello?

[He steps into the room, stepping around a bed to find a guy just crouching there. After a brief survey around the room to see if anything overtly dangerous is there, Roxas concludes there's no reason for the guy to be hiding, and so his focus returns to this curious behavior]

Why are you down there?

[He's been found!! And he can't even make an excuse with sleeping, ehh, ummm--]

Y-Ya startled me, that's all! I wasn't expectin' anyone t'visit since I just... moved in?

[Is is moving in. Technically? He guesses. Mika sits up, but he's absolutely keeping his back pressed to the bed... and keeping his eyes down, aaaaaah.]

You, uh, you got business with me? Or somethin' like that?

[And Roxas points in that direction right on cue, to illustrate his point]

Doesn't that mean I'm supposed to be here?

[At least, he's pretty sure that's how it's meant to work. Unless there's some other reason for his name to be there. Maybe there is, and he's just not coming up with it]

[... Oh, it's one of the people that's staying with him after all. Mika vaguely recalls there being more than just him, but he'd hoped that maybe they wouldn't show.

Nn... Yeah, yer s'pposed to be. So am I. Um... I'm... I'm Kagehira...

I'm Roxas. [Short and simple, delivered in a flat tone] So that just leaves someone named Kurapika, right?

[He's already wandered the other floors, and none of the names were ones he recognized. So it seems in this world, everyone's going to be a stranger.

Well, no matter. It's not the first time]

[Mika didn't really explore the floors himself, he'll probably do that later, he just sort of wanted to get alone.]

Um, I'm pretty okay sleepin' anywhere, so if yer wantin' any particular bed or somethin' you can have it.

[Time to cast a slow glance around the room before he's back to looking at Kagehira]

I don't sleep, so I don't have a preference.

[Roxas searches his memory. Has he ever heard that name before?]

I know most people have to sleep, so I just wait I guess.

Yeah, but there's usually not much I can do about that.

[He shrugs, by now accustomed to this reality]

At least it's easy to watch over others that way, if I need to.

Y'could try readin' books! Or pickin' up somethin' to pass the time. Oshi-san pulls a lot of all-nighters when he makes outfits, but I dunno if you'd be into tryin' yer hand at sewin' and stuff. It's pretty relaxin' though.

I think the people I lived with would've been upset if I tried doing the sewing...

[As one was a house-husband and the other an overzealous butler, but the gift of CRAU is having some strange experiences to look back on]

What would you do, if you didn't sleep?

Probably part-time jobs and sewin'... I ain't that good at it, but I like makin' things anyway. Oh, and practicin'! Singin' and dancin'. I'd improve a lot if I didn't have to sleep!

Stuff like that, I guess? I'd just find somethin' to do so I wasn't bored.

Yup! I'm part of the unit Valkyrie along with Oshi-san~! It's the absolute best in the whole world!

[He's biased, of course, but... Valkyrie was top unit at one point in his school for good reason. They can back their claims.]

Everything's beautiful and perfect, there ain't a part of our performances that's lackin' at all, all 'cause we practice 'til we bleed! Well, a little before that, Oshi-san knows my limits better than I do.

That...sounds painful.

[So why does he seem so happy about it? It's the first time Roxas has encountered such a puzzle.

But rather than seek clarification, he simply presses on]

The only one I've met before worked on her own I think, not in a...unit.

[No pain no gain, Roxas..! But it's because they work so hard that they're able perfect their performances and feel satisfied with it, so Mika doesn't mind. He also has a super high pain tolerance.]

Well... You can do that too, but y'don't get as many offers when yer workin' by yourself. It's better to be part of a unit! And there's a lotta lives that you can't do by yourself too, like the Starfes, and that's important t'know 'cause your grades get affected by 'em if yer not careful~.

[He shrugs. Goodness knows he is nothing resembling an expert in this field. Maybe it depends on what world someone is on. Different worlds, different rules, after all]

What are units like though?

[If it's a gaggle of mismatched personalities, his original's time in the Organization would make a decent frame of reference]

[....... That's a great thing to try and put into words, uh, give him a few seconds to try and figure out how to... do that.]

It's usually at least two to five people workin' together to put on a show..? Nnah, that's not good enough... There's all kindsa units that're different in their own way -- our Valkyrie's perfect an' beautiful, that's what it's supposed t'be and Oshi-san makes sure it's nothin' less -- but there's other ones that pride themselves in bein' other things too, like there's one of 'em that's called Knights that're pretty noble 'n strong? An' Ra*bits' draw is that they're a buncha cuties.

[So... Hmm.]

But talkin' person to person in 'em, Oshi-san and I have the same dream but different personalities~. There's usually somethin' that brings 'em together and keeps them there though.

So the goal's what makes you a team?

[He's seen examples of that, though he can't say they were as united as this Valkyrie unit seems to be. Maybe that's a difference of transparency, or maybe it's an idol thing. It could even be both]

So...are they your friends?

[It's clear that they're a team, but that isn't necessarily the same thing]

Oshi-san's... He's the one that takes care of me. We've never used the word, but I guess everyone else might say we are..? We're kinda more like partners though, at least lately. I'd follow him right to hell.
